This place was awesome. Al (one of the haits) was super nice. The property is beautiful and in a great spot. The baby gates made it easy for us with a toddler. Access to the bike trail and long pine Park we're awesome too. Easy to get into Boyne city, lavender hill farms and other places.
Came for the marathon - was super pleased with this location for access to Boyne City, Charlevoix, and Petoskey all within 15 min. Bike path goes in front of property too. Owners are on property but quiet and separate. Very accessible if you need them though. Pretty property and decent-sized for 3-4 people. Lots of animals on the walls. Toilet is very slow and difficult, which makes it hard for multiple people to use with only one bathroom. Property looked like it hadn’t been cleaned again prior to our arrival, but overall was fairly clean. Owners left a nice arrival gift too!
High quality accommodation nestled on a gorgeous wooded property. We were super comfortable. Outdoorsy activities abound nearby. Would love to visit again !
Lovely experience. Hosts very accommodating and easy to work with. Location perfect for the wedding we attended at Walloon Lake. Fabulous lavender farm right down the road and a nice selection of restaurants near by. The beds were comfortable and house was spotless. Thank you for hosting us.
Quiet and reasonably priced two bedroom with close proximity to Boyne city and Boyne Mountain. Perfect for our last-minute ski weekend getaway. The owners were very responsive and the place was clean. Has a nice hunting cabin vibe - loaded with taxidermy.
The property is just beautiful, peaceful and tranquil. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is wonderful and well-equipped. The hosts are wonderful and ready to assist if you need anything. We enjoyed this property because we could relax and stay local and easily visit fun places like Charlevoix, Mackinaw City and Sault Ste Marie. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay in this treehouse rental. Our beds were comfortable and we had a nice view from the upper level of the wooded setting. The owner was very accomodating when we had an issue lighting the gas stove. Also, we got some great tips on things to do in the nearby area.
Beautiful property close to Boyne City, Petoskey and Charlevoix. This is a year round perfect location to educate others-or remind-what northern Michigan really is. More than what is presented. Truly a Michigan destination. We will return. Thank you Janet for everything!
We loved staying at your peaceful place. It was exactly as expected and more. You take great care of everything. Clean. Organized and just what is needed for a trip Uonorth. We will be back!
A delightful, quiet, and restful home base for visiting many NW Michigan communities
The Treehouse was an ideal place for us to gather, eat, and relax while traveling around Charlevoix, Boyne City, Walloon, and Petoskey. While we weren't able to meet Janet, her communication prior to our staying was clear, friendly, and very helpful. Al was delightful.
The rental included everything we needed to make our own meals, plenty of space to relax and get away from the bustling towns, and an entire property that oozed beauty and and relaxation. Would definitely recommend.
Really really loved the place. I would not like to stay there if it was a hot day/night though. The AC is very inadequate. We had a cool weekend, but one day we had to use the AC. The place never cooled down. Luckily, we were gone most of the day, and it cooled off outside at night. Sink had some crap left in it. The floor was a little dusty. I would definitely stay here again, and I have already recommended it to several other people. Thanks for making such a great place available to the public!
This "treehouse" is located above a garage on the property of the owner's home, yet we had full privacy. The space is large and open with a lovely deck looking out over a large garden and field of trees. We had everything we needed and then some to be comfortable, cook a few meals and sleep well.
The location was great for us as we enjoyed hiking and bicycling in the area. We highly suggest the Little Traverse Wheelway from Petoskey to Harbor Springs. Much of it is along the bay with beautiful views. Young State Park offers hiking trails as well as The Hill, which was close by.
Janet was very responsive to our questions and even printed out a couple pages about hikes in the area just for us! We were invited to hike their property as well and we did! Their dog, Lucy, is very sweet and well-trained and we enjoyed her greeting us upon arrival home each day.
We had a great breakfast at Sunnyside in Boyne City and a delicious dinner at Barrel Back on Walloon Lake - what a view! There are many wineries and several microbreweries in the area. We enjoyed the wines at Mackinaw Trail Winery and Brewery as well as the microbrews at Burnt Marshmallow.
The establishments in the area went above and beyond in following COVID 19 guidelines to and we felt safe.
We were very blessed to have booked this place. It was quiet and peaceful. Soothing breezes. The large property is surrounded by mature trees. There's a spacious deck to relax, read, enjoy a beverage, and listen to the sounds of nature. There are no noisy neighbors because you are staying on the property.
The house has a woodsy decor. It features a spacious combination kitchen and living room, a suitable bathroom, and two large bedrooms. There are 2 TVs, one with local channels and another with Roku.
The location fit our needs for the bike riding, golf, wineries, breweries and touring the area.
Al and Janet were terrific hosts. They answered our texts in a timely manner, and we had friendly conversations with them on the grounds.
We would definitely recommend this house to anyone who is interested in getting away from the fast-paced world.
I needed some peace and quiet to relax. I am so glad that I chose the "Treehouse". The price was affordable, property clean, and the location was within an hour or less of the surrounding areas my sis-in-law and I wanted to visit.
We loved passing through the tree lined driveway to find the Treehouse, nestled around the woods. The view of Autumn's vibrant colors from the deck were amazing. The open floor plan welcomes you into a cozy setting.
There were stuffed wildlife around the house. (Excellent craftsmanship). The pellet stove was easy to operate and provided a warm glow and warmth. There were plenty of towels, and extra blankets/pillows if needed. One of the highlights was the beds - so comfortable!
We heard their puppy, Ginger, but never got a chance to meet her. I would definitely go back.
This property is beautiful. Check in was a breeze. We enjoyed the entire stay. We definitely will be there again and again.

Retired couple from downstate that have spent time here since the 1980s.
Why they chose this property
When we came to area in the 1980s it was to ski the slopes of Boyne Mountain and the Highlands. After renting a cottage in the summer, 1986 and experiencing beautiful Lake Charlevoix, we knew we wanted to come here for skiing and boating. We first bought a cottage a mile away in 1987 but when the 11 acres came up for sale, we bought and built our dream home. We retired here in 2004 and love the friendly people and the amount of outdoor and cultural activities that we can do.
What makes this property unique
This is a quiet, private piece of land but right off the main county road. It offered us a chance to build our home and the barn without restrictions.
