Enjoy this quaint tree lined neighborhood with streets made for walking, including a scenic walk around Lake Gertrude. Located exactly one mile from downtown Mount Dora - and around 7 minutes by car from Renningers Antique and Flea Market.
Fully furnished 1 Bedroom cottage adjacent to our home. Full kitchen including: refrigerator with ice maker, stove, microwave, coffee maker and access to outdoor grill. Flat screen TV with Cable and wireless internet. Plenty of books to read, games and cards to play.
Recently renovated bathroom with walk-in shower and upgraded fixtures. Private bedroom with comfortable queen bed - sleeps 2. Dining room seats 6, as well as small kitchen table for 2 - either one perfect for games or dining!

Lovely cozy cottage

We were in Mt Dora for a long weekend visiting family, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! SO much more comfy and cost-effective than a hotel!! Our hosts left us welcome treats, and communication with them was easy and fast. We very much recommend High Hedges.

Gem in central Florida

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this property. It is a block from Lake Gertrude for sunset walks. It is 5 minutes to downtown Mt Dora. Barbara is a delight to work with. The property was comfortable with all the things you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We will be back!

Just Perfect

We enjoyed our stay at High Hedges so much! It was perfectly situated to allow for trips to downtown Mount Dora as well as the various golf courses that we played while in town. The cottage itself had everything we could have asked for. The deck was the perfect place to just sit, relax and watch the birds or to enjoy a meal. We usually stay in a hotel when we come to town, but this was such a great place, and so relaxing, we'll definitely look to repeat the experience when we come back to the area!

Wonderful Cottage Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay especially the wonderful patio. So serene and peaceful! My only complaint if any, is the bed. It’s very squeaky. Every time my husband moved he woke me. A ceiling fan in the bedroom would be nice as well. But would definitely stay again.

Peace and quiet

Comfortable ample seating for watching a movie on Netflix even without our own account. Very quiet, beautiful neighborhood and we were able to walk down to the water for some exercise. We appreciated our welcome bottle of wine, coffee and snacks. Bed was a little firm for me and that was the only negative. We finally made some time to sit on the deck before leaving and it was very pleasant. No biting insects despite the impressive quantity of little flying things we saw everywhere outside windows at night in Mout Dora area. Would stay again if we ever come this way again.

Friends getaway

Was a trip arranged for my daughter and friend. Barbara was responsive to all communications, was very sweet in putting together a little welcome treat for them, and very accommodating. Girls commented on the cuteness of property, location to town, and overall vibe of property.
