This is a beautiful place, and the view of the water is amazing! They had many amenities and a very nice welcome basket with wine! The weekend I was there, unfortunately, it was pouring rain, so I did not get to enjoy what all was available. However, they were very nice and very helpful. You will enjoy this place!
We stayed for Labor day weekend, and had a great time. The area is beautiful.
The house is right on the water, and kayaks were available for our use. The house was clean and comfortable for our three adults, and one dog (It could hold more). We enjoyed that they had a deck with dog gates on either side, so we could leave the dog out when she wanted, or when we were on the deck.
Even though it is called Lincoln Pond, it is very good size. We enjoyed walking in the area on the road by the water.
They also had plenty of good books available to read.
The host was very good, in making certain everything was good for us.
The property had everything that we needed ranging from towels and toiletries, to life jackets for the kayaks and even dry cut timber and firewood for the fire pit. The owners also provided helpful guides to local attractions and even things like the hospital, supermarket and drugstore. There was no wifi this time, but when contacting the owner they said that wifi may be available in the future. But to be honest with the lake right outside, we would not have had the time or desire to be online to begin with. The cell reception was good, and more than enough to stream music from the phone if desired. If swimming from the dock is not your thing, there is also a public beach a few minutes away. Overall as stated before the stay was excellent, and we are already making plans to return next year.
If you’re coming to the Adirondacks, this is exactly what you should expect from a cabin on a pond. Older style home with modest furnishings and accommodations. But it really is about the location and the views isn’t it. I didn’t have the pleasure due to working during my visit, to appreciate the pond and the views.
The property is in a gorgeous spot on the pond/lake. Clean water, great porch deck + deck/dock down at the water's edge. Scenery of leaves changing across the hills and mountains was captivating and relaxing. Debbie stocked the fridge w water bottles for our use (and bottle of wine we didn't end up needing) , plenty of utensils and cookware along w outdoor griddle we used to fry up some fish for dinner when we got in. House is cozy. Bathroom is clean. Shower is a single upright so a bit of a tight fit but managed. Water was nice and warm. I like a bit firmer of a bed so we did need to switch to using the futon mattress on the floor which worked fine. The main room's bed does seem to have a bit of downslope toward the head end but an easy fix w propping up headboard side. Debbie left great instructions and info for the area. Easily accessible by phone for any questions. House was comfortable temp wise...no issues w any concerns about colder weather or being an older cottage house re insulation etc - - - barely used the extra heaters unit they have in living room area. Views of lake so relaxing. We were to Lake Placid in 45min i think and plenty of hikes nearby. We went to Poko Moonshine and Ausable Chasm. Thanks Debbie!!
