We had a really nice time staying here with our two dogs. The location is quiet, peaceful, and just a short drive to several beaches and Mendocino village. The space itself was comfortable and tidy (as long as you're ok with some surface dust and cobwebs) with a decent kitchen, space heaters, and simple, comfy furniture. The wood stove and hot tub were both in good condition and kept us warm and cozy. We'll be back!
The Wine Barrel is absolutely wonderful. Great view, beautiful location, cute and quirky. We lit the wood burning stove, and it was so, so cozy. We'll be back!
Great view, kitchen fully stocked, comfortable bed, attentive host with great recommendations for restaurants and directions to the beach that was our view. Will definitely return!
We have stayed at Wine Barrel maybe 6 time over the past 30 years. It is exactly as we remember (although now there is internet). View is awesome, had an awesome time chilling out.
This place is awesome. The views, the vibe, full kitchen, cozy upstairs with a wood burning stove. The bathroom is super cute and rustic. The architecture was unique. Its just like a little cozy repreve from the nature you are surrounded by. The front and backyard are amazing, especially for some morning fetch with the dog, very green, quite large. The hot tub area is super cozy and private but has a great view of the ocean. The bed is super comfy, we slept super well every night. Very private area in general, but just four minutes away, if you dont want to cook one night, is the ledford house, awesome restaurant with an ocean view. Across the street from there, just off hwy 1, is a very convenient small grocery store as well. The property manager, Pat, was awesome, super responsive, very nice, very accommodating. We already booked another trip. We love this area of the coast and this is our favortie spot we have found. Didnt use the grill, but plan to next time. There was a bottle if wine from a local winery, very nice touch, wine country in this area is highly unferrated. If a cob web or a spider web or two are a concern for you, that is the only note I have, this is an older place surrounded by nature so we didnt mind, but it might be a consideration for some. Give this place a shot, its probably my favorite place ive ever rented for a weekend.
The wine barrel is so charming! We had a wonderful stay for our honeymoon. My husband got really good at making fires haha. It was a wonderful escape and a beautiful place to start our marriage. Hosts were very communicative and left clear instructions. They even left us a bottle of champagne. The only hang up we had was that there was quite a few bugs and cobwebs around. I did get a few spider bites while I was sleeping. Other than that we had a great time, thank you so much for letting us use your place.
The Barrel House was wonderful; charming, comfortable, and quiet. We loved the access to the Mendocino Coast as well as the Anderson Valley. The view was amazing. Would definitely stay again!
My husband and I booked this for an anniversary weekend. The setting was amazing, and the space was really cute. We loved the rustic charm of the wine barrel. We would happily stay here again.
The cottage was great, rustic but comfortable long weekend getaway. The views are incredible and we used the hot tub and grill everyday. We would definitely come back.
This is a wonderful home for those who appreciate something truly unique like staying inside a giant wine barrel with stunning views of the river and ocean! The location is exceptional for easy outings to nearby vineyards, great trails, beaches, Mendocino and Fort Bragg!
This property is very unique with gorgeous views, compfy bed, toasty fireplace, and great location. Great rate and allows dogs. I absolutely loved the smell of a deep merlot throughout.
