About this property

“Almost Perfect” would love to be your vacation home

A nice cozy beach house with all the comforts of home inside and out. The kitchen has just been remodeled. There is a separate laundry room with a full size washer and dryer. Off one side of the house is a small covered deck and a convenient enclosed outdoor shower with plenty of hot water.The front door opens on to a carport and patio with two sets of table and chairs. Will set 8 for dining and cookouts. There is also a large gas grill. Pets welcomed ( under 35 lbs ) and golf cart included.

Our home is a short one block walk or a 2 minute golf cart ( included ) ride to the beach, and convenient to pools, tennis court ,par 4 golf course, a water park and numerous restaurants.

We are anxious to share are home with your family ..

Awesome experience!

We had such a great time at Donna and Mike’s place in Garden City! The place was fully equipped and was the perfect little beach house! The owners were very nice and accommodating and were quick to answer any questions we had. The community we stayed in was very friendly and the pools were so fun! The beach was very close and we LOVED cruising around in the golf cart! We can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely wonderful

Our stay could've been more perfect. The house was perfect, so clean and inviting. The owners was quick to answer any questions prior to and during our stay. The housekeeper was the sweetest! We arrived early and she was cleaning and she was so sweet to talk to and when we returned to check in the house smelled and was so clean!. The location is perfect, so close to the beach and the pool. Our little family had an absolutely amazing trip!

Wonderful place to stay in Earshot of the beach

The Baucom's place on Jacana was very nice and comfortable to my family. It was very clean when we arrived and returned the favor and left it very clean for the new renters. The place is wonderful because of the close proximity to the beach. We had a wonderful time and the home is so close to the beach, shops, water parks and all things fun. What was so cool was that we went out the back gate and experienced a whole new world that we did not see our first visit to Oceanside Village. Would recommend highly.

Nice place however coffee pot was not clean and had black sludge. Most lamps did not work and/or missing knobs. Vents by bathroom were very dusty (not sandy). Seemed like maybe an animal was there before us due to hair.

We actually left a day early, the property owner did have an exterminator out but there were still roaches!! When I contacted the property owner the day we arrived to tell him about the roach problem he said he knew it was an issue and was having the place treated! If I knew before hand I wouldn’t have stayed!

Great neighborhood

Great location and neighborhood. We stay in this neighborhood every year. I wasn’t sure if it is professionally cleaned. You need to take your own sheets and towels and make sure you leave toilet paper and paper towels for the next guest. The gym wasn’t included. It’s $30.00 a week per person. The only way you can see the pond is if you are in the driveway and tall and then you can catch a glimpse. Golf cart was nice to have. It’s a short walk to the beach. Took me 10 minutes. If that being said I would probably stay again.

Perfection not expected, but wowCons:Not a HOUSE: Trailer on foundation. VRBO pics you can’t tell. Listing never says this. This private area has mixed housing. It would have been a no had I known...Cleaning lady: Dirt smudges on walls & doors, dust coat on back of TV next to kitchen table & more. Deeper clean needed periodically for 5-stars. Bought my own supplies, gave it a deep clean. A lot of debris/food/pet hair in & under pullout couch where 2 kids slept. Mattress pullout was stained.ROACHES. Told exterminator came by day before & we 'might see a dead bug.' From Thu-Sun morning, we counted 17 of many sizes & species. Not all dead. We swept up 11 dead roaches upon entering. Owner was apologetic, but a huge understatement to the activity we saw. Entire street is infested. 1st night on walk before bed, had to avoid stepping on all the running roaches on the road. Gross.Pros:Communication: truly best host, responded quickly, accommodating, made sure we had all info before we arrived, early ck-in granted, etc.Golf cart: Awesome! Only about a min drive to private parking lot. Felt spoiled having the beach & pools so close to where we were staying.Beach supplies: chairs/umbrella provided on side of propertyLocation: the best. walk-able to beach, friendly neighbors, family friendly place. Pools, hot tub, & splash pad were the well-maintained. My favorite part next to beach proximity.If bugs had not been so bad, would stay again. Everything else was almost perfect...

Disappointing

This was our 2nd stay 2 uears in a row. The 1st year was great, the house was clean our stay was wonderful. This year totally opposite! They said we broke something, the house needed cleaned and the dishwasher was full. To the best of my knowledge we didn't break anything, we took all of our things from the house and swept before we left, as for the dishwasher it was full when we arrived and we never touched anything in it. We left it as is, we ate out our entire stay. As for the condition of the house we found items that were not ours, a hair clip and finger nails. The house smelled like a musty campground and we seen roaches everynight!! I wasn't going to complain or couse a fuss untill they sent a request for more money because the house needed more cleaning and the dishwasher was full and said we broke a picture. The house definitely needs more cleaning but its not because of us! As a returning guest i will not be returning next year! Very disappointed considering last year was better.

Renters beware

First let me say I am not one to disparage anyone or be rude and hateful. This place was absolutely disgusting. Had not been cleaned in quite a while. The rental amount includes a cleaning fee, Howe, there is a sarcastic note on the refrigerator stating that the cleaning service is not a maid service and though I paid a cleaning fee that I was expected to clean before I left. There was NOTHING to clean with and clearly the previous renters hadn’t either. I took photos of the dust and debris as well as the tuft of animal hair that fell in the floor when I pulled the comforter back to make my bed. The walls even had dust! /animal hair. The furniture smelled like a dog kennel. As far as the kitchen there was old food remnants on the walls and the outer microwave. We had to totally clean the toaster before using it due to the filth. I spent slot of money on this and was very disappointed. I reached out to the owner and they stated they couldn’t understand how it got so dirty. Brought me some Clorox wipes and left on the porch. I sent the owner the pics as well. Needless to say I will not stay here again. I do love Oceanside village and will find a different place to stay.

Great Beach! Memories Made!

My family had a great time on our "Myrtle Beach" vacation in July of 2017. The property owners were very nice and very receptive. My 6 yr old granddaughter said she would like to live there, she was already used to it. New floors look great... appliances were nice, including dishwasher! Loved having the golf court - well worth the extra $. Very close to the beach - a small percentage of homes in that section were as close. Just about everything you need to make a basic meal, including a blender, a toaster, and a grill; which we used a lot. I slept well every night, but my husband thought his side of the mattress sloped towards the edge of the bed. My daughter and son-in-law said their mattress sloped inward toward the center. My two other daughters (20's) and my granddaughter used the sun room for a bedroom - which was ideal... out of the way, could close it off. Perfect. Except for the pull out couch mattress. As is often the case there was a "spring poking in the back" issue. Maybe a mattress cushion? I don't know. Also, the shower situation could use some improvement. We loved the outdoor shower, except for the water pooling at the bottom. Need to raise it with concrete slabs or something. The indoor shower could use some upgrading. Remove the old TV from one of the bedroom closets to make room for suitcases, etc. But all in all Thank You! Well worth the money. :)

no where near 'almost perfect'

The outside is somewhat maintained, but when we entered (as the door slammed shut behind us) we realized this place was not what we thought we were renting as advertised. The rooms were dirty, and it was clear it hadn’t been freshly cleaned. The comforter was stained, the walls were dirty, the vents and fans covered in dust, nasty bathmat in the shower, a dirty disgusting spare mattress tucked under the full bed on full display, and the space boards scuffed with dirt and grim. we had to buy cleaning products to clean the kitchen and bathrooms. You can't imagine how disgusting these rooms were. Everything we wiped down and cleaned turned the wipe and sponge a dingy black. The vacuum did not work, I can confirm by the grim the floors have not been moped in ages and were disgusting as well. We had to wash the blankets and kitchen towels before we felt they could be used. I was glad we brought our own sheets and towels. I’m not sure how you get good reviews, but I can say “Almost Perfect” is very, very far from that. You can’t tell cleanliness from photos, but it wouldn’t matter as the photos advertised for the rental are very outdated. Many of the furnishings represented are no longer present or are in poor condition, the upkeep of the golf cart has been neglected, the grill is rusty and doesn’t light, there are junk piles of old beach chairs, umbrellas and other items, the rugs are old and worn.

You are just a block from, the private park at the beach and Oceanside Village's own Conch Restaurant - Just take the golf cart. Cook out on the gas grill or read a book on the little cozy deck. There is something there for every member of the family.

What makes this property unique

Our house, as does the whole village, have a cozy, family friendly atmosphere and is located very near the private beach. All areas and activities are accessible by golf cart .
