Thank you, Susanna and Maria, for such a wonderful stay! The apartment is beautiful and location is great - in the center of beautiful Alfama! Thank you for a beautiful stay! We will absolutely be back!
This cute apartment was just as described. Communication with the host was fantastic and check-in was seamless. It was clean, comfortable and felt very safe. The view from the terrace was lovely and it was very quiet. The only downside was the four flights of stairs up to the apartment which, after a long day of hiking up hilly Lisbon, were a bit of a challenge. This is really our fault though for not spending enough time at the gym :) We have stayed in a bunch of rentals around Europe and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this one. Five stars!
We loved our stay in Alfama. We were close to everything and were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to go. The apartment was perfect for what we needed. We even cooked a few meals there. The book of recommendations was really helpful. We went to two restaurants from the book and the food was amazing! We would definitely stay there again.
We loved our stay here! The location was amazing, the flat was amazing, the host was easy to communicate with and was very responsive. Check-in and check-out were both simple and clear. There are a lot of stairs to reach the apartment and no elevator, but they were manageable. Being on the top floor meant it was very quiet and private, which we loved. I highly recommend this place for a quiet and relaxing place to stay in lovely Alfama.
The property is in a great location, has great views and worked well for 3 adults. As others have said, there are LOTS of stairs, so be prepared for that. Our host made check in easy and was very helpful. We had a great time! Thank you!!

Our family of four (2 adults and 2 kids 11 and 13) loved our stay here. Place was perfectly located and within walking distance to city. Loved the flea market 5 min walk away and on tue and sat's (def worth going) and loved exploring city.
Apt was clean, tidy and perfect for our family. A lot of stairs as previous reviews but we didn't mind being a fit healthy family. Would def recommend to others and thx for a lovely stay.
Great location. We walked to all the main areas to explore. Cute restaurants, small grocery store, shops, flea market, right around the corner. Close to train station when we left city. Loved the view from the terrace. You are at the top of building with no elevator - wasn't an issue for us. Friendly owner, friendly people at the nearby restaurants and shops.
The apartment is spacious enough for two and has lovely light and views. The downside is the poor quality of the beds, pillows and bed linens which are in desperate need of an upgrade.
My friend and I enjoyed this stay on our three day trip in Lisbon. As others have mentioned, it is in the attic, and there is no elevator, so you must be mobile in order to climb to the top, especially with luggage. The apartment itself was interesting and had a lot of character such as exposed brick and beams, and we loved the tile detailing in the bedroom. The bathroom was bare-bones, but clean and did the job. The location was a lot of fun.
Pros
-Very comfortable beds
-Good air conditioning
-Every window had a view and there were lots of windows letting in plenty of light and air
-The blackout shades did a great job
-Convenient to shops, groceries, restaurants and the Metro station
-Surprisingly spacious
Cons
-Steep climb from the Metro and several flights of stairs to get to the flat, but the view was worth it
-No coffee or caffeinated tea provided, but that seems to be the norm in Europe
We would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay in Maria’s apartment. She was responsive to questions and replaced a space heater when the existing one stopped working. We are easygoing travelers, low frills travelers so everything was great for us - kettle and mokapot were especially appreciated. So many stores and restaurants a stone’s throw away. It would be good to include instructions on using the induction cooktop, but we figured it out. Things to know: queen mattress is low, clothes washer only but there is a drying rack, those stairs are no joke but a little planning meant we usually only climbed them once a day. Arrivals by taxi will drop you off just around the corner on Rua dos Remedios - taxis can’t easily access the travessa (alley).
We enjoyed our stay in Lisbon. This little apartment is in a convenient location close to many small markets, restaurants, and souvenir shops. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Lisbon, which was reasonable, and we took Uber when we were too tired or didn’t have the time to walk. There is a lovely view of the Pantheon from the terrace, and many large windows providing natural light, and nice views. There are several small mirrors on the walls in the bedrooms, which were very helpful for applying makeup in the natural light. The apartment was clean, and our contact responded when we had any questions or problems. There is an excellent sushi restaurant right around the corner less than a block away – we went twice in one day!
A few things to consider about the apartment itself:
There are 91 interior spiral stairs to get to the apartment, and no assistance with luggage.
The couch was extremely uncomfortable, and there weren’t any other comfortable furniture options in the apartment.
The beds are more like cots and also uncomfortable.
Bathroom is very small with just a stand up shower and no bathtub.
We very much appreciated the lovely neighborhood and enjoyed walking the cobblestone streets and dining on all of the delicious food!
Very nice, clean, airy apartment.
One large balcony faces northeast, with a stunning view of the National Pantheon. Two small balconies look southwest, with a partial views of the river.
The apartment is reached via 89 steps, after navigating very steep, narrow cobbled streets, so you’d better be healthy and strong in order to lug your luggage.
The Alfama area is very old and interesting, with steep and narrow cobbled streets, lovely views and numerous restaurants.
Do be picky about where to eat, though, as there are a lot of restaurants postings as authentic Portuguese, but are clearly not. Avoid those with people waving you in with menus in hand.
This area can seem a bit rough, with a surprising amount of graffiti and garbage. Much more than in other parts of the city.
The apartment is also close to the cruise ship port, which is not a positive thing, since cheap restaurants and souvenir shops abound as a result of the massive disgorgement of tourists.
There is a train & metro station at the bottom of the hill, which contains the only decent grocery store. Just be ready for some serious exercise on the way back up!
Get daily/weekly passes for trains, busses, trolleys at the train station. Public transportation is really great in Lisbon!
I’d advise heading a bit west in the city and avoiding the touristy commerce square area in the lowlands after a quick peek at it.

Apartment had all the amenities (fridge, clothes washer, stove, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, etc.). Good water pressure. Enough hot water for 2 consecutive showers.
Cute deck with nice view of National Pantheon. Three sides of the unit had windows that opened for cross breeze. Comfy bed.
Good location. Very close to train station, lots of restaurants, little grocery markets.

My boyfriend and I searched high and low for a stay that had a great view and great location. This is it ! We loved the apartment it is cute and spacious. Also, during the summer months the ac was a life saver after our long days sight seeing.
The stay is very close to the airport and walking distance from main tourist attractions and eateries. We decided to rent a car for two days to explore some beach towns. Luckily there is 24 hour parking about a 5 minute walk from the apartment for only 8 euros a day. I would definitely recommend this stay to my family and friends.
A nice loft with lots of sunlight and amazing views from the terrace. Plenty of useful appliances!
Can be a little loud at times from other guests, but otherwise a great stay.
Thank you!
In the heart of the old city and close to the Santa Apolonia Train/Metro station. The unit itself was as advertised with no surprises. All the windows and balconies afford great views in all directions and provide plenty of natural light during the day. The kitchen functions well and had everything we needed for cooking. We found the bathroom to be a bit tight but everything works and the shower has good pressure and plenty of hot water. We stayed for a month and plenty of linens and towels were provided. The apartment was very comfortable, even on the occasional days when we never left. Other people have commented on the stairs and yes, it’s five flights up with no elevator so you will get a workout coming home. However it’s not nothing that any reasonably healthy adult can’t contend with (my wife and I are in our 60’s). Knowing what we know now, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Overall a terrific little place.
Super zentrale Wohnung, gut ausgestattet, ruhig. Und die Lage im vierten Stock ohne Fahrstuhl ist ein gutes Training für die Waden ;-))
Durchaus zu empfehlen!
