Perfect alternative to expensive hotel room without giving up luxury or location! First floor with elevator, in completely brand new building inside, but with original facade outside on popular huertas street, extremely close to prado, thyssen and reina sofia museums and the palacio real, in historic center of madrid, the famous barrio de las letras. The apartment has a very comfortable king-size bed, plus an additional sofa bed in the living room area. With windows to a quiet and airy interior courtyard and smack dab in the middle of all the happening places. We have lived in madrid for the past 14 years, glad to help you choose the best places to visit in and around madrid.

The apartment is right next to plaza de santa ana. Near puerta del sol and the plaza mayor. You can walk to la cava baja, a street full of restaurants and little bars. Also, the mercado de san miguel. Great meeting place and good tapas.

We loved this apartment. The location is in the center of town, with nice restaurants and stores located nearby. The place is clean and lovely. We would definitely stay there again when visiting Madrid.

This beautiful apartment was in a perfect location in the historic city center. We were able to walk everywhere! It was a quiet oasis in a bustling city. Gorete was a great host, always available with helpful advice. Highly recommend.

Perfect location and a comfortable stay

This apartment is in the perfect location to walk to all attractions and offeres a ton of good restaurants close by after that long day of touring. We stayed with my son (17) and the sofa bed worked quite well.

In a word FANTASTIC! The apartment was great, clean and the location was right in the Old Town area of Madrid. Plus, it is on a pedestrian street with restaurants,markets & stores all over to choose from, and very safe. What was truly a surprise was a Alicia, who is an on site manager of the building. She was so helpful. We would love to return here again. We highly recommend this property.

Lovely apartment in a great location

We were in Madrid for three days and the location of the rental was perfect. Very convenient for walking around the city and close to everything we wanted to see. The apartment was clean, easy to get to, and quiet. The host was helpful and easy to work with for a morning check-in (we rented an extra night so we could arrive early from our flight).

Great Stay in Barrio Letras

Pre-arrival communication and check-in went very well. The apartment is spacious and well appointed for a couple. Although it is in an extremely central location the apartment is very quiet since it is open only to a central courtyard.

Great apartment in a fantastic location!

This updated apartment has it all! From booking to check out, a great experience. Walking distance to everything including great restaurants, shopping and the Prado. Well equipped with lots of towels, coffee, comfy king size bed and more. Quiet building and very secure.

Great Apartment in an Excellent Location

My partner and I loved our stay in Madrid! This apartment is situated in a great neighborhood with lots of character, near the art museums and central to a lot of other popular sites. We really appreciated the communication with Gorete and help from Alicia at the front desk. The apartment has all necessities and was a great staging area for all our activities. Highly recommend and loved the location!

This was our second stay at Gorete's apartment. Gorete is a perfect host, the apartment is beautiful and superbly located has great décor and is very well maintained. It is exactly as described and shown in the pictures. The location was central and ideal. I would definitely stay here on my next trip to Madrid. We had a wonderful stay in Madrid.

Incredible location!

This pretty apartment met all our needs. On a very safe and cool street with lots of shopping and restaurants. We walked all over Madrid. Small grocery is a block away. We cooked a couple of meals on the handy stovetop and did some laundry in the washer/dryer. Bed was comfortable and Alicia, the manager, was wonderful if we needed help. Loved our communications with Gorete as well.

Great Apartment/Great Location

Other than the person showing us in to the apartment not speaking English and somewhat standoffish, this apartment was perfect for our needs. My husband is a chef and he wanted to experience authentic Spanish cuisine rather than cook our meals this trip. There were wonderful restaurants and tapas bars all around us and within walking distance! I would highly recommend this apartment and Gorete was nothing but friendly and helpful to us.

The apartment was fabulous. It is better then shown or described in the listing. It has everything you need to stay there & is perfectly located. The concierge went out of her way to help us and even had a taxi waiting for us back to the airport. I would never stay anywhere else in Madrid. Thank you Gorete. 10/10 rating.

Perfect location!

Great location to walk to all parts of Madrid. Very nice and safe street. Apartment is small but met all of our needs. No street noise since we were on a courtyard. Block from a nice grocery store. Restaurants and shops all up and down the street. Gorete and Alicia were wonderful and communication was so easy and helpful. Beds are very comfortable and it was great to have the washer and dryer. We even did a little cooking on the stove and had everything we needed in the kitchen to do so.

Calm in the middle of Madrid!

From the moment I requested our booking the owner was extremely communicative, warm, and welcoming. She provided helpful details regarding arrival, provided an early check-in, and we were greeted with a smile when we arrived. The apartment is in a terrific location for walking yet, it is super quiet for sleeping ~ something that was important to us. We ate out most meals however, the kitchen is fully equipped for meals if you prefer to cook. Super clean, comfortable bed, and nice linens! Love this apartment and would stay here again. Thank you!!

Our little home away from home!

A great stay at Gorete’s Calle de las Huertas studio apartment! It was as close to home as we could have hoped for. Though only a studio, the space was very large and more than adequate for us and our son; however next time we will make our reservations early enough to grab one of the equally attractive one-bedroom apartments in the building. As other reviewers have stated, the apartment was spotless, comfortable, completely outfitted with everything we needed, and perfectly situated to allow for walking to just about every Madrid location. We were warmly greeted by Gorete’s assistant Alicia, who walked us through all the points of the apartment and the surrounding neighborhood. (The cake and wine were a nice touch too!) Gorete came by a few evenings later and we had a lovely visit over a glass of wine. She clearly wants her guests to feel welcome and appreciated by offering assistance with taxi reservations, cooking tips, restaurant recommendations—not to mention some fun insight into the ins and outs of ordering a gin and tonic in Madrid! We highly recommend this comfortable alternative to hotel living and will definitely return to one of Gorete’s apartments on our next visit to Madrid!

All the comforts of home

The apartment is in a great location, secure, well furnished, clean, quiet, has a host who communicates quickly and well, and has friendly on-site representation. Even more, this apartment is fully equipped with quality necessities - kettle, kitchen knives, utensils, pots and pans, and so on. All in all it feels like home. We had a great week here. Perfect accomodations in a perfect location

We were so lucky to find this apartment. We loved everything about it. In addition to the cleanliness and comfort, the personal touches were very much appreciated. The coffee, wine, and sweets made it extra special. The location was wonderful - walking distance to so many of the sights, yet so quiet - one would never know there was so much activity going on outside.

Great location

The apartment was great. Clean, neat and as described on the website. The representative was there to meet us on our arrival and spent quite a bit of time explaining things to us and suggested things to see and do whilst in Madrid. The neighbourhood was great with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. We were also close to Santa Ana square, where you will find lots of varying activities to do.

We've done quite a few vacation rentals and this shines. Location is perfect, in the literary district of old Madrid. The apartment is sparkling clean, spacious, good quality big bed, pillows and linens, quiet. Walking distance from everything in historic Madrid, but also close to the metro. Lots of restaurants and groceries very close. Nicely stocked kitchen, though only used for breakfast - too much fun eating at the delicious, inexpensive restaurants. Gorete has thought of everything to make your stay wonderful - felt like a 5 star hotel but better. Highly recommend.

We have been living in Madrid since the year 2000, so we are knowleageable and delighted to share all the information you may need to feel like a local.

Why they chose this property

Location, location, location! This is smack-dab in the middle of the historic Barrio de las Letras (Literature Neighborhood) very romantic, safe and with countless places to eat, people-watch, on a pedestrian street (no traffic).

What makes this property unique

The building was completely gutted a few years ago and they saved the facade and the 100 year old staircase, but everything else is brand-new modern construction. We have furnished and equipped the apartment with everything we would like to find in a rental, we use vrbo ourselves when we travel so we understand that small details are paramount.
