Come escape to the mountains at Sapphire Hideaways' High Heaven Hideaway, a private 13+ acre retreat overlooking the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, Lake Jocassee, and Lake Keowee.

Perched high above Sapphire, North Carolina, High Heaven is the kind of place where you can slow down, breathe a little deeper, and enjoy being together. With incredible long-range mountain views, three waterfalls on the property, spacious decks, and plenty of room to spread out, there’s something special about every season here.

A Mountain Getaway for Every Season
In winter, enjoy skiing, snow tubing, and the beauty of the mountains covered in snow. Come in the warmer months for hiking, golf, fishing, boating, waterfalls, and exploring the surrounding area. Or, honestly, stay home and enjoy the view—you may find that’s your favorite activity of all.
The home sits on more than 13 acres, giving you plenty of privacy and room to explore. And when you’re ready to relax, there are multiple outdoor spaces where you can enjoy your morning coffee, watch the sunset, gather around a fire, or simply take in the scenery.

On clear nights, grab the telescope and see if you can spot the lights of Clemson University in the distance.

Freshly Refreshed & Designed for Comfort
We've recently refreshed High Heaven to make your stay even more comfortable and enjoyable. The home has been freshly painted throughout and thoughtfully updated with some of our favorite touches.

You'll find Frontgate luxury towels in the bathrooms, luxury bamboo sheets on the beds, Smeg small appliances in the kitchen, and Viking cookware for anyone who loves to cook while on vacation.

We believe the little things make a big difference. Whether you're curling up in bed after a day of hiking, wrapping yourself in a soft towel after a long soak, or preparing a family dinner in the kitchen, we want the home to feel comfortable, welcoming, and a little bit special.

Plenty of Room to Relax
Inside, High Heaven offers approximately 4,000 square feet of comfortable living space with six bedrooms and four bathrooms, making it a great choice for families and groups traveling together.

The main living area is spacious and inviting, with vaulted ceilings, bamboo floors, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and large windows that bring the mountain views inside.

The open kitchen connects naturally to the dining and living areas, so everyone can stay together whether you’re cooking dinner, playing games, or relaxing by the fire. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including Smeg appliances and Viking cookware, along with a large pantry for all those groceries you’ll want for a mountain getaway.

The primary suite features a beautiful marble bathroom with double sinks, a jetted tub, and a large marble shower—a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.

Fun for the Whole Group
When you’re ready for some friendly competition, head downstairs for a game of pool or ping pong. There’s also a TV and gaming setup in the lower-level The Hideaway room for guests who want to bring their own consoles.

Outside, you’ll find two levels of expansive decks with spectacular views. Enjoy dinner outside, gather around the outdoor fire features, or settle in with a glass of wine while the sun disappears behind the mountains.
And yes, the views really are that good.

Sapphire Valley Recreation Center
Guests can also enjoy the many activities available at the Sapphire Valley Recreation Center. A temporary membership card can be purchased directly through the center for $5 per day, with no minimum number of days.
Depending on the season and current hours, the recreation center offers indoor and outdoor pools, a wading pool, hot tubs, saunas, fitness equipment, mini golf, an arcade, playgrounds, sports fields, walking/running areas, basketball, volleyball, bocce, horseshoes, gem mining, and more. They also offer classes and other activities throughout the year.

A Few Things to Know
High Heaven is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 16 guests, with a maximum of 14 adults (ages 16+) and 2 small children.

We are dog-friendly, but we ask that pets be well-trained and treated as part of the family. Dogs are not permitted on the furniture unless it is properly covered, and please clean up after your pup both inside and outside.

The garage is private and not available to guests.

For everyone's safety, please use the exterior lights when you're outside after dark and keep a close eye on children around the property. The mountain terrain, rocks, and natural areas can be slippery and uneven.
