This host canceled my reservation within 2hrs of check-in during the Thanksgiving holiday week. They alleged plumbing and HVAC issues at the very last minute. Such a horrible experience with this being my 1st ever booking with Vrbo.

Spacious with several spaces to gather

This property worked well for us as we gathered as a family to celebrate with local relatives. We utilized all the spaces and games provided. Important note for accessibility: four of the bedrooms are up and one is down. The downstairs room had a closet and the others were outfitted with desks and/or benches for luggage. The listing could be updated since some of the photos aren't representative of current state - these are mostly aesthetic differences though. We did really enjoy the balcony overlooking the kitchen. Sound carries so a conversation in one room will be heard in another. We didn't mind since we all enjoy being up in each other's business :) Lastly - the place had both a Keurig and drip coffee maker. Yay for options!

Graduation Trip

Overall the stay was nice. I was allowed an early check-in by 1 hour. Communication was good with our host. He answered promptly with any concerns.The 2 biggest issues we experienced were directions to the building. You should be aware that the building has been split into multiple units. The '08 unit is on the backside of the building. The front unit facing the street is '12.. the instructions should give better description. Other occupants are there with you. This should be disclosed in the description as well. We had no issue but if I was a single family, or with small kids, I would want to know. Also, I know that remotes can be hard to keep up with, but trying to get tvs to work was super frustrating. I dont want to download apps to work the tvs. Even then, it didnt work without the original remote. Last, the gorilla is kinda creepy. Maybe something a little different. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and my family was able to celebrate our graduate with plenty of space.

Nice property for our family

This was a nice unit for our family to gather for a graduation weekend. since we had a lot going on we did not spend much time in the unit but when we got back it was a good location for us to gather. There are several areas in the unit for sitting around the table, playing games and eating meals. the kitchen was well furnished and had everything we needed to meals- better than many units we have stayed in. while the unit does not look like much on the outside, once we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean and well taken care of. the theater room was a nice way for us all to kick back at the end of the day with a movie. We did not use the TV functions of the projector system but while there the Roku system was not working (which we knew about ahead of time) I am not familiar with Roku anyway but could not figure out how to work the tv's in the bedrooms as there are no remotes and I could not figure out the instructions. May not be a problem for the next person. The location of the unit is not in the best area of town but we did not mind that as it was fine. It had easy access to highways so we could get where we needed to be quickly. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions I had and was very helpful. Overall we had a nice stay here and would rent again if ever in this area again. I can't give this a 5 star rating because of the location but the owners have done all they can to make it a 5 star property and I can recommend it.

Being realistic, but still great

We stayed for two nights, and enjoyed the place. Location - it's fine. It was *not* a sketchy neighborhood as one or two reviews mentioned. If you come from downtown you'll go through bad neighborhoods, but it's not in a bad neighborhood itself. It was hard to find as it's in the back of a building, so you don't see the address number from the street. The great news is that you're 15-20 minutes max from all the great things in Dayton, and if you want regular-fare food and shopping, that's like 5 minutes away. Quality - it's not perfect, but it's not really fair to nitpick. There are imperfections here and there. A bit of chipped paint and things like that. But it's put together well and has everything you need. Stay - We actually had a great time here. The dining table had eight chairs, so we had plenty of room to gather and eat dinner. The projector room was nice. We brought our Xbox Series S to play games and watch movies on. Now to be fair the instructions say to just turn on the switch and the projector will turn on. But you have to flip the switch, *then* go over to the projector and power it on. Then press the button in the center of the projector to confirm your input choice. The bedrooms were fine, but those fold-out suitcase holders would be nice. Some of the pillows were really lumpy, and a throw blanket or two that are lighter weight would be nice. Overall - For the price, the amenities and location you can't beat it. It's not perfect, but it's worth a stay.

Excellent Stay!

Wonderful stay. There were 5 adults in the group for a work trip and it was perfect! It was in a good location, well stocked and tons of space. The theater room was awesome and Steve was a wonderful host. Steve was quick to respond and we enjoyed our week.

Texas to Ohio

We flew in to Dayton from Texas. The house was very clean and we enjoyed staying there. The only down fall is there is only one room with a closet or place to store your clothes. Also was not a fan of downloading an app on my phone to use the remote. The theater room was nice but wish the projector and pun system would have worked while there. The host communicated promptly when we brought it to his attention. He sent someone out but it still didn’t didn’t get fixed. We stayed 3 days with no theater room.

Wedding Weekend

Enjoyed our stay at the location. Great place to hang out for family and large group. Theatre room was awesome wish we had more time to use. Location looks to have been recently updated on flooring and place was clean. Owner was always responsive to any questions/concerns. Would recommend the place and stay again in the future.

Not as expected.

I messaged the owner several times about location to University of Dayton - he said it was 4 miles. It was double that! The house felt unclean in parts (carpets are gross) and there’s just a lot of wear & tear not maintained. It’s in a pretty shady part of town too - that would have been helpful to have been disclosed. The owner was very communicative during our stay. Theater room IS cool. Wouldn’t stay here again though!

Enjoyed the stay!

We have 5 kiddos, and they never got board. The theater room was the biggest hit! They enjoyed having their own rooms/space to sleep. Overall, it was defiantly a great host to have for the weekend getaway with the kiddos.

Wedding things

Family and I stayed here for a local wedding. We had trouble with the second floor shower leaking. Maintenance came to temporarily fix the issue but the next day we ran into the same problem. Overall it was a nice place. Just needs to fix the shower leak and replace the carpet where shower leaked down on first floor.

Just incredible!

House was clean and organized, check in was easy, décor is awesome and Steve would respond to me almost instantly anytime we had questions. The Theatre room is amazing and where we spent most of our time. Overall just a great stay, thank you for making it such a special weekend.

Excellent Property

Stayed here over a long weekend for a local wedding. Property was very clean, well decorated, and had a great living space. Theater room was a great place to hang out and the sound didn't travel to other rooms upstairs, so we could watch TV/movies later at night without waking our kids.

Family Gathering

A family gathering for our 90 year old Aunt. We enjoyed the Dayton area. Shiloh Condo was enough room for our small out of town group. Very unique decor and had all the extras we needed.

The space Gem City Condo is truly a one of a kind space for you and your guests. The address is 5408-5412 North Main street.
When you pull into the lot, go down the driveway on the right follow the black painted arrow. You can park right next to the door. You will see a green door with a OH on it. The door is controlled by a digital 6 digit code that we will provide you the day of your reservation. Once inside you will see our welcome table in the hallway with additional information for you.
