Relaxing and convenient

This rental was very nicely renovated and had a great floor plan. It never felt crowded for our group of 5. The location was perfect; a quiet neighborhood but a short walk to the grocery store and another couple blocks to the beach (with a light for crossing the highway). A very relaxing place to stay!

Nice home in Kill Devil area

We needed some extra beds over Thanksgiving as my son’s house didn’t have enough room. This place was super clean and we can recommend it. Quiet neighborhood - host was responsive. Can’t comment much about summer season, but off season was perfect for us. Thanks for sharing your home.

Residential location near the beach

House was well maintained and had a great deck to sit out and hang with family members on nice days. Home was cleaned prior to arrival. You can walk to the local grocery store, mini golf, and the beach. You can technically walk to the Prospect Avenue Beach access where there are restrooms, but it a bit further and probably easier to just go by car if you are going as a family. My family loved the amenities. Thank you for hosting!

First time at outer banks

We stayed at David's cottage for a week during our first ever visit to outer banks. The cottage was well located, 2 blockes from beach and within a quiet neighborhood, with easy access to bike/runner trail on bay side. While we made good use of the local beach, the location allowed us to explore other beautiful beaches in nearby towns. David was very accessible and provided local recommendations. The cottage was very cozy and bright. We made good use of the deck for family time. Overall we loved the stay and were able to enjoy our time.

Good place to ride bicycle, quiet neighborhood. Once got to 1st st, it was a straight shot to beach access. Decor is inviting and very calming. Thermostat was a challenge. Rating is off for communication with prop mgr, didn't have any questions...

Family beach house get away

Our family enjoyed this house and all it had to offer. It was the perfect size for our family of four. We found the house clean, stocked with items we needed for cooking and decorated with modern decor. You can tell from the pictures, but the house is quite cosy, when you get there you can tell the owners thought through all the smaller details that make the home lovely. The location was great for us. The neighborhood was quiet and allowed for safe biking for our family and easily linked up with other bike trails. There was a basement to safely store our bikes as well. The beach was very convenient. You could easily walk or bike to the beach, but we chose to drive because we had a lots of stuff to take with us. There were a bunch of beach accesses within a few blocks and it was never an issue finding parking. It couldn't be more convenient to the grocery store, putt putting, shopping, ice cream and all the local things you could want to do.

Experiencing the Outer Banks from Bay Side Cottage

We were delighted with our recent stay at Bay Side Cottage. We had our 2 teenage grandchildren with us as a spring break adventure. We enjoyed the morning sun on the front deck. We got some exercise on evening walks to the Avalon Beach Boat Ramp on Kitty Hawk Bay. Caught great sunsets there. It is an easy mile+ walkalong quiet streets. There is also a paved trail that goes along Dock St., which you can walk or run on. An added bonus to be sure! A convenience factor is having the Publix supermarket a stone's throw away from the cottage. There is also Food Lion markets within a short driving distance. There are also beaches accessible within walking distance. Lots of restaurants to choose from in the area. The 3 bedrooms were very comfortable and included TV's in each bedroom. We've never ever had a TV in our bedroom so this was a treat. It was nice to have an escape hatch if you needed some time alone. The master bedroom is spacious. All beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well outfitted including a crockpot, blender and hand mixer. The dishwasher is very quiet. The heating and cooling system was also very easy to use. We definitely enjoyed our stay at Bay Side Cottage. There is so much to do and see on the Outer Banks. We barely scratched the surface in the time we were there. We look forward to returning in the future.

Excellent vacation in the Obx

We had a wonderful week in NC. This adorable house located in a quiet neighborhood was perfect for our family of 4. Close to the beach, shopping, mini golf and lots of restaurants! David was an amazing host and had a quick response time to anything that came up. I would definitely enjoy returning to this spot next year!

Great location and price!

This place was great for my family of four! The place was clean and functional. Good internet and nice TV's in each bedroom. The location was very convenient located right next to Publix and the Wright Brothers memorial! We took the very short drive to the Prospect Avenue Public Beach Access to enjoy the beach, it had restrooms and a shower to use.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We love the small neighborhood feel of this home unlike other homes on long streets that are all used for rentals this small enclave of homes is a mix of local families, 2nd homes and a small amount of other rentals. It's so convenient to the stop light to cross the main road to the beach which is great for a bayside property. It's in walking distance to a ming golf course, Publix and also Lowes and the bike path that runs along the bay which we love as well. We redid the entire interior of this home when we purchased it and it really shines compared to other rentals with old appliances, wood paneling and decor from a couple decades ago.

Mile post 7 so no long drives once you get to OBX. Short walk to bay, bike path, beach, grocery store, mini golf and much more. Park once and walk/bike everywhere if you like. Non-thru street great for families to enjoy huge corner lot. Fully renovated with full set of appliances including washer and dryer and dishwasher. Lot's of parking! New memory foam beds.
