La cabaña Seaglass es una propiedad acogedora y completamente remodelada, a cinco minutos a pie de siete millas de arena de Old Orchard Beach, tiendas, restaurantes y diversiones.
Cuenta con un porche abierto con mesa de picnic que es perfecto para el café de la mañana o comidas familiares, horneados de langosta o hamburguesas cocinadas en la parrilla de gas cercana. Un porche delantero cerrado ofrece un futón doble y cama de día. El amplio patio delantero bien mantenido puede ser un área de juegos para niños. La cabaña también cuenta con una gran sala de estar de pino nudoso con TV de pantalla plana y DVD, un comedor en el comedor, con capacidad para 6, dos habitaciones con aire acondicionado (una con 2 camas individuales, 1 con una cama queen size y TV de pantalla plana / DVD, ambos con aire acondicionado), WI-FI GRATUITO, dos baños, cocina totalmente equipada con microondas, lavadora y secadora, estacionamiento en la calle para 2 autos. Duerme 6.

Owners live locally and were friendly and very attentive when the fridge went unexpectedly. Tastefully decorated cottage with all the essentials. Short walk to the beach and main strip but does include a decent hill so be mindful if traveling with kids, elderly or physically limited. Nice beach carts and backpack cooler provided. Plenty of linens and towels. Air conditioning in upstairs bedrooms only and master ac is loud. Beds are comfortable. Master window coverings only filter the light and could use room darkening option. The front porch with daybed and futon is beautiful but unusable if the outside temperature is higher than 70 so our kids slept on the couches instead. The main living room area also stays very warm needing fans. Quiet neighborhood. Dining area is narrow for 6 people but the picnic tables offered a variety of seating options.

We regret tenant found difficulty with locale & existing hill, however please note excerpt from property description copied below: "The Seaglass Cottage is a cozy, fully remodeled property an easy five minute walk downhill to seven miles of sandy Old Orchard Beach, shops, restaurants, and amusements". If tenant anticipates difficulty making the walk to/from the beach, we encourage shuttling children/elderly to the beach via car, then returning to property parking spots. Front porch can become extremely warm, but most afternoons provide sea breezes. Opening porch windows & windows adjacent to living room do provide some relief as does the porch ceiling fan. The property also has: 3 box fans, 3 oscillating cylindrical fans, 1 heavy duty floor fan. Both bedrooms are air conditioned with AC in master bedroom recently repaired to lessen operating noise. Eating spaces can be tight, however property provides varied options depending on the size of tenant's party. They include: Kitchen: seating for 2-3, Dining room seating 2-4, Back porch picnic table 4-6, Side Yard picnic table 6-8

Perfect beach house

This is a beautiful beach house. It is spotless & very well stocked with everything you could need. It is in a quiet neighborhood with a short walk to the beach & Pier. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return in the future!

Perfect beach house

My family and I stayed 4 nights in this house and couldn’t find a bad thing to say about it. The house was clean, well stocked, in a great location and the hosts were very responsive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a perfect vacation spot when visiting Maine.

Wonderful time at this charming house!

We were so pleased with our stay! We have stayed 4 times before at OOB with the kids. This time this house waa perfect. Loved all the decorations. Every detail is thought through.

Nice stay in quiet house

We had a great time here at Old Orchard Beach. This house was very conveniently located to everything and in a pretty neighborhood. It was clean and had everything we needed.I have two small suggestions for the owner: (1) I had a bit of trouble finding the address, so it would help to include that in your checkin instructions; (2) the streetlight outside the master bedroom is bright, and it'd be nice to have a darker curtain.Thank you so much for having us!

Cozy, clean home

Tee had a grey time with our stay at this home. It was clean, well stocked, had enough space for the 6 of us. The owners came over to check in with us the first day to be sure we were all settled which was sweet. They had plenty of beach towels, chairs, beach cart, grill, books, etc. we will for sure be looking to stay here again in the future!

PERFECT Beach House for a family vacation! Marc & Martha thought of everything for their renters needs. Location was walking distance to everything, yet far enough to not be disturbed by the beach nightlife. Not only were towels and linens supplied, but all the necessities for a stress free day at the beach are provided, including umbrella and a wagon to carry it all. Cottage was exactly as described and the Maine beach decor carried throughout was adorable right down to drawer pulls. The Maine gift waiting on arrival is a super sweet and appreciated touch. Definitely recommend and hope to come back!

Wonderful cottage, and great hosts

I think this is the best place we've ever stayed in OOB - and we've been going there for many years. Martha and Marc were there to welcome us when we arrived, and we felt at home as soon as we unloaded the car. They've thought of everything - we could have come with clothes and food and not needed another thing for the entire week. Linens, towels, beach towels, a great, rugged cart to haul stuff to the beach, air conditioners in the bedrooms (that actually work), fans throughout the house for every room, wifi, washer & dryer - just awesome. I know it sounds silly, but I so appreciated being in a cottage that didn't look like an explosion at the Christmas Tree Shop (if you're regular visitors to OOB, you know exactly what I mean). Tastefully decorated, and something as trivial as having matching dishes and silverware made me feel like I was in my own home - just in a much better location. Speaking of the location - jackpot! A 5 minute walk down to the beach, 10-15 up to the pier, 5 or so to the mini-golf. Close enough, but just far enough away. We went to the OOB House of Pizza right up the street, and it was great. No need to go all the way up to the main drag. I would second what someone else mentioned below - the bed in the master is very, very firm. If that bothers your back, you might want to bring some sort of topper (non-latex, of course - allergies, you know) or plan on dragging in one of the twin mattresses from the other room, which is what I wound up doing. I would definitely come back to this property for another vacation. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed!

Owners Marc & Martha, both retired high school teachers, with a combined teaching career of 70 years hold Bachelor & Masters Degrees from the University of Southern Maine. He has lived in Old Orchard Beach all his life and she has resided there for the past 20 years.
The purchase, remodel and decorating of the SEAGLASS COTTAGE (located adjacent to our home) has been a labor of love. The complete overhaul of the property began in 2004, with the first rental tenants arriving summer 2005. An additional construction project in 2008 added the second bathroom and master bedroom. Successful and rewarding rental seasons (as can be noted by the reviews) have occurred ever since.
Marc's remodeling & construction skills combined with Martha's artistic eye and creativity, have helped to create a beautiful, comfortable, welcoming, coastal retreat perfect for making summer memories by the sea. Color choices, bedding, furnishings & decor all add to the coastal feel and provide tenants a "home away from home" easy to acclimate to, and hard to leave. Many tenants have made returned visits summer after summer.
