Misrepresented pictures on the website that wasn’t direct

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort was good overall, but my unit was bad. Old construction, bad mattress, bad kitchenware , Very bad view, A lot of ants and insects. The pictures do not represent the unit at all. The view in the picture was taken from the level above, which was not reflected as the truth. I tried to change the unit many times but with no luck with the reception folks.

Toes in the sand.

Horrible Customer Service. We lost $3000.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our trip was cancelled due to a hurricane and we received horrible customer service, lost $3000, and had no vacation. To put a long story short, our family was thrilled to be going on a beach vacation, and much to our dismay, Hilton Head had a hurricane headed there the same week. Flights were cancelled (multiple times) and ultimately we were unable to make it down for our trip. Since we didn’t (nor have we ever) bought travel insurance, we called 3 times on the day of our flight to understand our options being told that “weather related cancellations are dealt with on a case by case basis”. And the next day and following days I continued to call. It took almost 2 weeks to hear back from anyone at the resort about our $4500 we had spent on our vacation despite our many phone calls, voice messages and emails. When we finally heard back, there was a careless response pointing blame at other staff members and quoting us a 30 day cancellation policy, as well as offering no money back and a 10% discount on a future booking. We could not have felt more angered or insulted. After much back and forth, they agreed to refund some taxes, and fees totaling $1500 of our $4500. Despite the car rentals, airline tickets and golf tee times being refunded with no question since there was a HURRICANE, this place would not budge. They stole our $3000 in my opinion. So don’t expect to cancel intentionally or unintentionally against their policy. Or buy all the trip insurance because these people do not care about you or your hard earned money.

Great Views!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit is practically on the beach! Great views from the balcony and a nice location on the island. My only issue/regret is that the view shown for this unit appears to show the ocean from the patio. However, you have to go up to the balcony for the great views. This would have been okay, but I had my mom with me, who cannot do steps. Access to the beach is about 50 yards away, which was not bad (no walking over the dunes).

Just little things

Reviewer Comments: Great time with a group of 5 other girls for a 50th birthday. some small suggestions:* Access to the gate by the beach and grill, the code did not work that was provided.* Schedule of the outside beach grill/bar to know if it was going to be open or closed. Happened to be closed for two days due to a wedding.* Replace shower liners in the show and better water release from the shower, you ended taking a shower with half the water in the tub because of slow draining.* master bathroom toilet had to be pumped almost after every use because got clogged easy.* update the extra bathroom steam shower, did not seem to serve a purpose.Very well laid out, very clean and comfortable. Wish you could of stopped the rain, but even with rain we all enjoyed our stay.

2 Beach Villa

Great having Dunes House Grill close by. Nice having ceiling fans in bedrooms and family room. The labels on light and fan switches and instructions for TV and WiFi were appreciated. Enjoyed the big, comfortable couches. Wonderful having our own parking spot. Had it not been for the construction noise in 1 Beach Villa, it would have been outstanding. Hammers, cutting saws, and drilling started at 7:30 a.m. and went on until 5 pm on 4 days of our stay. It was wonderful when it was quiet. Tonya(sp?) of Palmetto Dunes Guest Services did provide compensation for all the noise we had to endure and apologized. Front Desk personnel at Palmetto Dunes (not Tonya) would benefit from some empathy training for guests when reporting issues. Response of "it's out of our control" with no apology or understanding is not good customer service.

Nice townhome on the beach

Overall we were pleased with our stay. It was in a great location, very short walk to the beach with all of our children and gear. Also super close to the pool (which we chose not use due to Covid) However the pool was never crowded. We enjoyed takeout from the dunes house located right on the beach with walkup service and the food and drinks were delicious! Also had some delicious takeout from Alexanders. The general store was also very convenient for any last minute items. We would love to go back when the pandemic is over to get out and enjoy the area a little more. However we still had great fun. My only complaint was the pictures made it seem like a beachfront house where you could walk straight out to the beach, but it was more like a townhome and you do need to make a short walk to the boardwalk to access the beach. This did not end up being a big deal bc its still very close we wore masks when on the boardwalk because there a lot people accessing the beach there. We also enjoyed the chair and umbrella rentals that they set up for us.
