Jekyll Island stay

House was comfortable and clean and in a nice neighborhood. We were close to everything. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Lovely Home

Short stay for a conference but it met all our needs. Very quaint and clean. Had all the amenities we needed and provided us a starter "welcome" kit that even came with pool passes! Property management responsive to one very minor issue that did not impact our stay at all and really could have waited (light fixture repair). They had someone out the next day. Second time to Jekyll and love seeing the deer in the morning. The ONLY thing I would recommend is new pillows, or at least additional ones for those of us who like thick pillows to sleep on.

Jekyll Island Mother’s Day

This home needs upgrades to the bathrooms. Someone tried to paint the floor tiles. There’s a shelf that’s all cracked up In the master bath.And there’s paint on the one bathtub and the second bathroom. Furniture is from the 60s. Home smells of mothballs. Remind you of going to your grandmothers home.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was not as clean as expected and was overcrowded with furniture. The bottom dishwasher rack was missing wheels so hard to use. Some lights were hard to use or not working. We really enjoyed the pool. Overall the location was great and we enjoyed visiting the Island.

They unlocked the house so that we could get in. When we left, I turned in one key because, I lost the other. The office staff said no worries, when you find it just mail it back. Well, once we got home and unpacked, I found the key. Put it in the mail like they said and all was good. I loved my rental experience!

June 2021 Stay

As always Jekyll Island has been a vacation spot for us since 1994.. Been coming here forever! The Serenity cottage was by far the nicest we’ve stayed at. Unfortunately the only issues we had was the Trash and Recycle Bins. Previous guest placed trash on the wrong bin and it smelled horrible..We called and thankfully they came and poured bleach the first time,but did not take the trash. After two days of that horrid smell we called again and someone finally came to clean the trash bin the following day. Which unfortunately backed up our trash.. But other then that we had a blast.

Serenity/Jekyll Reality Review.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our visit to Jekyll Island. The Serenity house served its purpose of having a place to sleep but unfortunately we did not love the house. Very strong moth ball smell throughout the house which came home on our clothes/suitcase! The house was overwhelming with decorations/clutter. The dishwasher does not work and all the dishes were dirty! We also had to clean when we arrived because dead bugs were on the floor and dust was heavily collected around lamps, tables, etc. We were also very annoyed with the cleaning company who arrived before we checked out and decided to stand around our vehicle while we were packing up. It was difficult to pack especially with young children while we had unfamiliar people all over us. Very unprofessional and we felt very rushed! We mentioned this to Jekyll reality and they did nothing!

Three things to fix before I go back

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 1} Fridge does not cool properly. I could not keep milk or fresh fruit. I threw out a lot of food. Ice cube trays in top of freezer never froze.2) Need new dishwasher. Bottom roller will easily come all the way our and fall on the floor. You really have to be careful. Did not clean dirty pots after 3 cycles.3) Electrical Outlets are very old. None are 3 prongs, very hard to keep Mac charger in wall. Frustrating.Fix these 3 things and I’ll be happy to go back.

pleasant and peaceful and mothballs

Everything was great except the pungent mothball odor in the house. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and included a herd of deer. The beach was a pleasant walk from the house.

Best place to stay on Jekyll island is the serenity house

Makes 2 time at serenity house. Always clean well maintained and all the accommodations any person needs. Great neighborhood and located in walking distance from beach we always walked. I will for sure stay at the serenity house ever time I come to visit from now on

I would stay here again

It was very easy to rent. It’s an older home that served it’s purpose for our family. It could use a really good cleaning. Dish washer doesn’t work properly but I’m used to doing dishes by hand.

Great, but...

We love this neighborhood on Jekyll. The house was perfect location, size, yard, etc. But, we will be looking for another house next year. This house needs to have all the artificial plants, cloth window coverings, and half the furniture removed. Every square inch of the walls are covered with framed prints, plaques, plates, etc. There is no way to deep clean is house. There was the "old persons" odor that either opening all the windows helped or we just got used to it. This is obviously another's persons home, if they are content with the rate of rental, that's understandable, but we will look elsewhere. btw Jekyll Realty was very easy to work with.

July 2020 Stay

Team, I have been renting on Saint Simons Island or Jekyll Island for the past 10 years. This rental was by far the most disappointing. We left two days early. We did not leave because of the storm. I was actually quite excited to see a storm off shore as I grew up in Florida and I think it’s one of the most beautiful sights. I left because the place was dirty and the beds were wildly uncomfortable. The amount of dust in the house irritated everyone’s allergies beyond any reasonable level of comfort. I did not read in the email that I need to bring my own linens and towels which is my mistake. I do not hold anyone accountable for that except for myself. The hair in the shower drain in the master bedroom does not match the hair color of anyone in our family. It was obviously not cleaned. When I pulled my shoes from under the bed the dust bunnies flew out into my face in the master bedroom. In the first bedroom on the right, we pulled out the bed to put on the sheets and there are dead bugs behind it. You ei

Nice house but needs a deep clean

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house had a great yard and we loved seeing the deer and other wildlife that visited it. Unfortunately the house did not meet our expectations. The house has a very musty mothball odor. Air freshener did not help. Thick dust was on curtains and embedded in some of the wicker furniture pieces. Dishwasher needs repairing and many lightbulbs need to be replaced. This could be a very nice place to stay if the owners would put a little time and work into cleaning it up.
