Watch the sunset from the beautiful wrap around back porch with private path down to beach. Cozy up to the wood burning fireplace. Great open floor plan with formal dining room. Rainy day? Lounge in the comfortable sunroom and admire the gorgeous views and peaceful atmosphere. Huge master bedroom with jack and jill attached bathroom to corner room with twin beds. Bunk room great for young kids. 4th bedroom with full sized bed and last but not least, 5th bedroom with attached shared bathroom. Spectacular beach views from master and 5th bedroom. Parking allows for 5 cars. Super retro pink kitchen, a must see!

It was a much fun, the house is perfect for beach time and cooking family dinners , there was way more than we thought available for use including a crock pot!! Loved it!

Ocean Property

Large home that easily fits 10. Beautiful view and lovely sun room to sit and view the ocean. Nice path to ocean, about a 5 minute walk to beach with many shells. Antique oven and kitchen.

Outstanding!

Stayed here with family including 2 grandkids, 6 and 8. The home is stunning, clean, quiet, and RIGHT ON THE BEACH! Even when it rained, we all gathered in the Sun Room with a 180 degree view of the ocean/beaches. Host was a dream too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Wonderful Beach House

We enjoyed our week in Gearhart very much and Marcia’s home was perfect for our needs. It is quiet, has a 50’s vibe with older (but functional and well maintained) appliances in the Pink Kitchen and it is only a short walk to the Beach and Town. The large sunroom is perfect for watching spectacular sunsets and the occasional group of Elk that love chomping on the greenery between the House and the Beach. We love Gearhart and plan on renting this Beach House again.

Very Nice

We had a great time at this lovely and somewhat funky house. The size was perfect for our gathering with enough space for people to spread out and to gather together. The hosts were responsive and very nice and I would be more than happy to deal with them and stay here again. To make the place even better, I would suggest adding some new comfortable furniture - or just some new slipcovers and pillows here and there. We all really enjoyed the view! Thank you for sharing your house!

Great location, plenty of space

Pros: The house is in a beautiful location with a great view of the ocean and a nice path down to the beach. There was plenty of room for our group of seven. Marcia was great about keeping in touch and answering questions--including specifying that there's a Tesla EV charger onsite that can be used by non-Tesla cars, as long as you have an adapter. Cons: The house and some of the small appliances are showing their age. For reasons unexplained, we were required to wait till we actually arrived at the house to receive check-in information.

Gearhart Beach Trip

Fantastic view from the sunroom, nice open living room, and dining room. The Home is in a great location, and quiet area. However, the sofa in the sunroom was dirty, and had a stain that was uninviting, so we did not sit on it. The two chairs in the living room had old blankets over them, and below them were holy chairs. We put a quilt over the sofa in the living room, as it was dirty, and odorous. The kitchen needs some updated appliances, like a newer coffee pot, toaster, and pots and pans that aren't rusty. We found dirty pans in the cupboard we had to wash before using. The bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs were nice, with nice views. We would consider staying again, if these things were addressed. Overall we had a nice stay at the property. Thank you.

Didn't want to leave!

The beds were mostly comfortable, except for the bunk bed mattresses lacked support for teenage son. The home was roomy and allowed easy access for my father who uses a walker. Only down fall for him was all the rooms were up stairs so he had to sleep on the Bay window but worked out great. Was a musty smell in house, common for area we just lit a candle. Kitchen could use an update stove was hard to cook with but doable. Might think about bringing own pots and pans most that were provided were burnt and well used but useable. Working microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, Washer/dryer. Plenty of blankets, sheets and towels provided. Enough toilets for all guests. On septic so pressure could be an issue for toilets upstairs but the shower pressure was amazing! Wonderful, huge fireplace for the rainy days and chilly nights. The view was amazing morning to sunset. Beach access was a little hike but well worth it. For my elderly parents we were able to access the beach about 8 blocks down the street where we could drive our truck onto the beach. We all had a wonderful time. Thank you so much Melody and Marcia our family would love to rent your home again. It is a beautiful piece of 1910 history. Kudos for helping families make memorable memories. Melissa

Not VRBO Quality

This property is NOT VRBO quality! I've rented through VRBO for many years, for vacations and special occasions. This is the first negative review I've ever written. The pictures posted do not reflect the true condition of the inside of the house. The outside of the house is updated and well kept. However, when walking into the house there is a strong musty smell. The furniture is old, stained and some tattered. Some furniture is covered with blankets. Once you walk into the house it's like walking into a completely different home. Appliances are rusted, drawers in the kitchen are filled with rusted old tools (nuts, bolts, wrenches, etc). Other drawers in dining room are filled with old random items. The refrigerator is not in the kitchen but in another room near the garage. Two of the bedrooms had a single sink awkwardly in the bedrooms with the bed. Several rooms served as storage. The bedding looked old and yellowed with age. We traveled to Oregon to celebrate a milestone birthday. We stayed at a nice rental in Oceanside. We then traveled 1.5 hours up to Gearhart and were shocked at the condition of the inside of the house. We did not stay. We found a hotel in Portland (1.5 hours away) and stayed until our flight left 2 days later. I would not recommend this property.

We had a wonderful time. Everything was clean. Easy to get a hold of someone. Entry was easy. If you love that old house feel and looking for good family time. This is a great stay. This is an older cottage that checks a lot of boxes for a larger group or family. The beach is about 0.3 miles fro the house. The only complaint from our group was the size of the TV...it could have been bigger. Otherwise it was comfortable and clean. Bonus: It has a Tesla charger in the garage.

Spacious Family Retreat

This place was spectacular! Host was easy to connect with. House was easy to find. Check in was a breeze. So was signing onto wi-fi altho service was spotty. Kitchen is quirkily appointed but we found nearly everything we needed for some complicated meals. The best part of it was the large gathering spaces - both inside and out! And the fantastic view of beautiful beaches we could walk to in a matter of minutes. Perfect for our gathering of far-flung siblings, five of us in all.

Unforgettable!

What a jewel in a beautiful neighborhood. Right on the gorgeous Oregon coast. This is a family home with a retro look and feel. It was quite comfortable for all seven of us, including my 2 year old grand daughter. We loved the big fire place and played games in front of it each night. One of my happiest family trips ever! Gearheart is a quiet beach town. If you want more action, Canon Beach is a short drive away.

Family Beach Vacay

The house has a lot of charm and character. It is older and the walk to the beach was a little longer than we thought. But we had an incredible time and the house had everything we could have needed.
