Margaret was a wonderful host. The stay included fresh local items for breakfast, which were a treat. It is just a few minutes from the center of Mendocino in a quiet neighborhood. The place is small but thoughtfully done and we (a tall couple) were perfectly comfortable and content for a long weekend. Thanks Margaret!

My stay at Hummingbird Haven was nothing short of magical. It was like a Zen retreat - spotlessly clean with all the necessary amenities beautifully organized. So cozy and inviting, and the garden and grounds are blissfully quiet and serene. I am a fairly recent widow and it still feels weird to travel alone but I felt safe and cared for here. The owner couldn't have been sweeter to me if she was my sister. Only caveat for some travellers may be the somewhat limited cooking facilities, though the set up was perfect for me since the owner provided lovely bespoke breakfast options and she indeed did the dishes! Besides super charming Mendocino is right down the hill and offers great restaurants you'll want to explore. All in all I cannot recommend HH more highly. Hope you get to go!

We had an amazing stay at Hummingbird Haven! The Hostess welcomed us with warmth and genuine caring. “My intent is to pamper you” she said and she truly did exactly that. From the yummy, locally sourced breakfasts to doing all the dishes to helping us find the best places to visit, she cared deeply to make our stay remarkable. The amenities were comfortable, super clean and cozy and the beautiful garden was just beginning to awaken. We hope to come back for more chillaxing and restoring. This was one of the best vacations ever. Thank you, Margaret!

Margaret Fox is an excellent host, and very attentive to her guests' needs while respecting their privacy. The place was clean and attractive, with great views of the lush garden. Very quiet, too, heaven for those accustomed to the noises of the city. Hummingbirds galore. Tranquil beauty. As Margaret said, "A WILD English garden." Only a 30-minute walk to the restaurants and shops. We will definitely return. It was the perfect getaway.

Our stay was wonderful from beginning to end. The host was incredibly thoughtful, making sure everything was clean, well-prepared, and comfortable. Whenever we had a question, we discovered it had already been answered in the thorough and helpful welcome guide waiting for us.While we came to Mendocino to enjoy the area’s natural beauty, the unexpected highlight of our trip was the incredible hummingbird oasis just outside our room. The beautifully maintained garden was alive with hummingbirds darting, chirping, and playfully interacting throughout the day. We spent hours there, enjoying the coffee and tea provided by our host each morning and glasses of wine in the evening. Watching the hummingbirds’ antics while taking in the peaceful surroundings became our favorite part of the entire trip. It was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and appreciate nature. We would happily stay here again.
