What's better than beachfront? Our place! We are directly across the street from the beach, so you get the convenience of beachfront without the beachfront prices. You are a shorter walk to the beach from our condo than you would be in the big resorts with 'beachfront' prices.

Come relax and feel the sand between your toes in beautiful South Padre Island. This is the perfect place to get away from it all. Even better, is our location. We are directly across the street from the beach, and there is a beach access just steps from the condo. It's like being beachfront without the prices! There are no hotels around us, so the beach is not as crowded and the neighborhood is quiet.

Stream your favorite apps, ZOOM, eLearn, etc. with high-speed WIFI internet. Our condos are pet friendly and kid friendly. They are also great for a romantic getaway. Are you setting up a girls' weekend or reunion? You can rent out an entire floor or the whole building and have a private vacation!

New upgrades: Keurig coffee maker, Berlin Gardens outdoor pool furniture, 6 beach chairs, 1 Tommy Bahama beach umbrella, 6 beach towels and a beach wagon. Custom outdoor pool table and outdoor TV in the pool area.

We are thrilled that you are looking at spending some time with us at Athena Ares Condominiums. Our beach home is a pet friendly, family vacation rental. We give 10% discount to Military, Police, and Firemen. The traveler securing the reservation must be 25 years of age or older. For Spring Break / Semana Santa all rental guests must comply with a families only restriction. If the dates that you are looking for are not available in this condo, we have 5 more fantastic condos in the same great complex that might work for your dates. We would appreciate the opportunity to accommodate your stay on the island.

Good stay, worry free and clean

Overall, this is a great condo and stay. Everything was very clean. My family had multiple condos rented and it was a good time for everyone. Pet friendly was great help. I wish pets were allowed in the fenced pool area, but they aren't. My dog's don't like water but it would have been nice to have them off leash. There's a lot of paperwork with the rental agreement. There are a lot of extra fees that are not reflected in the nightly stay price in VRBO. This may be a VRBO transparency issue and not the owners fault. Not a fan of VRBO for this reason. If you need a place for a lot of people, pet friendly, lots of amenities, and on the beach, this is a great place!

Beautiful condo/Great location

This rental is exactly as described, but even more beautiful. They had everything we needed for our stay. We loved that they had a wagon and beach chairs to enjoy at the beach. After a day at the beach they had multiple places outside to rinse all the sand off. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub almost daily and usually had it to ourselves. We have stayed at many places on the island, but this is by far our favorite. We look forward to coming back.

Perfect rental

This rental had everything we needed for our 10 month baby and it was super close to the beach. Loved that the pool had such a big kiddie space. Renters were very kind and accommodating! We try to come to Padre annually so we will back!!

Great Time!

The condo was great very spacious and the pool area was awesome. Really close to the beach access and a short walk to wanna wanna which is a plus for us and dedicated parking is a big plus in my book.

Athena Ares Never Disappoints!

We have been vacationing at this property for over a decade. We love the location, love the property and facilities, and recently had another wonderful stay 5/27/24 through 6/1/24. The unit is well-maintained and super clean. There are tons of fresh towels, pillows, and other linens, and we got a good night's sleep each night in the comfortable beds. You cannot beat the location, just across the street from Beach Access #17 (in my opinion the best stretch of beach on South Padre Island), and the pool, hot tub and outdoor facilities are perfect for when you'd like to skip the sand. It's an easy walk to several shops and restaurants. Most of all, we love that we can bring our Golden-doodle, Archie, along for all of the fun. See you next year!

Great location! steps from the beach

Great location. We had the corner unit, 1st floor. The unit was clean, perfect size, just what we needed. The kitchen is a galley kitchen, but worked just fine. Nice large dining table. Would highly recommend!

We had a great time. The Home was very good. The only thing that was beyond your control was the parking of our vehicle as their was a crew working on the street in front of the property. Thanks for a good week in South Padre Island.

Wonderful condo by the beach

This was our second stay at Athena Ares, and we likely will continue coming here for years to come. It’s rare to find a condo that allows big dogs, is clean, well appointed and maintained and close to the beach. We couldn’t ask for more! Management is friendly and very responsive. Thank you for another great stay!

Family holiday

We rented 4 units for ourselves and the families of our three daughters. The condos were well equipped and very convenient to the beach. The pool and patio area were great for getting everyone together for dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

Another Great Stay!

We’ve stayed at this property 6 or 7 times over the years. It feels like our home away from home. It’s right across the street from the best beach access in South Padre; it’s clean, spacious, and well-appointed. Tons of towels, comfy beds, and everything you need for a wonderful beach vacation. We always enjoy the pool, hot tub, pool table and grill area after a long beach day, and especially love that our four-legged friend is welcome in the condo. It’s in a safe area and perfect for couples and families alike. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Our go to South Padre destination

This was our second time staying at Athena Ares 101. Everything about the experience was better than the first time. The location, pool, and service can't be beat. As an example, we had a large storm come thru on our first night, causing damage all over the island, including near the pool. Martin himself and his crew were out early the next morning fixing the damage and ensuring everything was OK. We will be back to this wonderful property. (And do yourself a favor. Read the coffee table book about the history of their family and this property. Knowing the history, it's an honor to stay here)

Vacation with Friends

Great Experience all around. The pool/grounds were cleaned daily, any issues or questions were resolved quickly by property manager, easy access to ocean, all of the group had a good time. Stress free and easy going. Would come back to this location and stay.

Late March Spring Break Get-away

As first time visitors to SPI we really had no idea what to expect. Owners answered all our questions very quickly. After looking at hotels, resorts, VRBOS we settled on this place and couldn't have been happier. It's just so much more relaxing being in a home environment Pool was awesome, beach access literally right across the street! Very close and convenient. I just can't say enough positive things. Only thing negative on our trip, we could have used a little more sun. Thank you again, we look forward to coming back!

Winter Texan from Minnesota for last 6 years at Athena Ares

Loved our Winter Texan home for 2 months as usual! The group in the complex returns every year which makes it special. The owner & management are very responsive and appreciated.

The location is great! We can easily head back to the condo for lunch or just to grab more digging stuff. Then it's just a 1-2 minute walk back across the street and we are there, in the water! We also love walking down to the Wanna Wanna Inn for fried shrimp, cold beer, and good music. When our family comes to visit, we stay in all of the condos and spread out. We get to enjoy being close together without listening to each other snore!
