Maybe you want to be more adventurous--like kayaking with the harbor seals and otters in nearby Elkhorn Slough, or maybe a day of deep sea fishing on beautiful Monterey Bay, or how about swinging your clubs at one of the many local golf courses or visiting one of the many local wineries. There's so much to see in the Monterey/Carmel area including abundant specialty shops, restaurants, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey Pier, and Cannery Row, just to name a few. A few minutes to the north is the town of Santa Cruz with its ever famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, home of the all wooden roller coaster--The Big Dipper. Ride an old steam locomotive through the Santa Cruz Mountains making a stop to enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded in the beauty of the redwood forest.
