Amazing location and sweet house!

Our family of four enjoyed a last minute weekend here. The property is in the most amazing location - just secluded enough. The check in process and everything about our stay was seamless. We’d love to come again.

Amazing property

This is our 2nd time here and we plan on coming back. The property is secluded but close to all the area attractions and places to eat. The kids had a blast running around all the open space and playing in the river. The cool nights were perfect for relaxing in the hot tub and looking at the night sky. Would recommend to anyone. The house was clean and correspondence with the owners was easy and timely

Solitude

This has an old farmhouse vibe. We really enjoyed our stay. The pictures in the listing are accurate. Easy walk to the Shenandoah River. The farmhouse is at the end of a gravel road and very secluded. Just what we were looking for. We watched about 20 wild turkeys hunting for food in the morning and saw many deer at all times of the day.

Great early fall visit with kids and dog

The owner was kind and helpful. We enjoyed the quiet farmhouse with our children and dog. We didn’t have a chance to use hot tub/firepit but we look forward to the next time. The screened porch was our favorite spot!

The views

Location is perfect as we were staying to visit Luray caverns. House was bigger than expected and rooms were a decent size. Beds were also very comfortable. The walk to the river was easy and beautiful (we drove to the chairs). Being slightly ocd the inside of the house could use a deep cleaning, lots of dust! But overall we had the best time.and would stay here again!

Best of the Shenandoah River and Mountains.

Had another wonderful stay at the farmhouse. You can't beat the scenery, sunsets over the Shenandoah River with the mountains in the backdrop. You can canoe, fish, swim, hike right on the property. Lots beautiful trees and wildlife. Thank you Nina for being a great host and sharing this with our family!

Summer ‘24 vacay

We had a very peaceful getaway! The proximity to the park is perfect if you’re looking to go for some hikes. Otherwise, you’re right on the river with some great fishing. We had such a wonderful time.

4th of July

We stayed here over the 4th of July and had a wonderful time! The property is very private and quiet. It was nice getting away from the hustle and bustle and enjoying the beautiful scenery. This is a wonderful place to go to get away from it all!

Beautiful And Peaceful

The location is just what we wanted—secluded and peaceful. The river was amazing. Our dogs had a fun week, too. The chairs at the riverside and the backyard campfire site were much appreciated. The house was super roomy and had all the character that an old farmhouse should have. The view from the screened porch made it a heavenly spot to rock and watch wildlife. Though the house was pretty darn clean, there were high cobwebs in many corners and on the porch. We counted on the futon as a bed but it is grossly uncomfortable, forcing one to sleep on the couch. A few of these housekeeping improvements would make this place unbeatable.

Fantastic Views! Peaceful

We loved staying at this historic farmhouse. It was very private, peaceful and the view was amazing. We especially enjoyed the river. We will definitely stay again.

Beautiful Scenery and Quiet!

Nice older cabin with very quiet, country location. Lots of privacy and walk to river. Dog friendly too! Bring coffee grounds for the coffee maker. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful, peaceful mountain eacape

We loved our stay here! Gorgeous place, wonderful views of the mountain and the river, and super peaceful. Only wish we could have stayed longer! Definitely want to come back in the spring or summer to enjoy the river more and build a fire in the fire pit.

Lovely getaway

This spot is really lovely. Not too far from the DC area, but far enough that it’s away from the hustle. Easy drive to a Front Royal. We had the best time just sitting on the screened porch, drinking coffee and talking. The kids kicked around their soccer ball in a little grassy area near the driveway. The cabin itself is the perfect size for our family of 5.

Very secluded and quiet

Nina was at the cabin when we arrived, and showed us how to get to the river. The cabin was very clean and cozy, with plenty of space to unpack and settle in. The cabin is easy to find (just follow Star View Lane all the way to the end), and a short drive away from various attractions. Situated about 15min from Luray/25min from Front Royal, we found gorgeous views, lovely sunsets, and lots of places to hike. Our pup especially loved exploring the farm and river, and relaxing on the porch watching critters in the fields.
