This premium cottage is a brand new remodel and has it all. Situated on the 2nd row of Daufuskie’s beautiful Avenue of Oaks, JonBie Maison guests will look to the Atlantic Ocean beach from the front porch and enjoy serene tidal creek and marsh views from the back. The cottage has a wonderful location, and cottage guests will be just steps away from the pristine Melrose Beach .

The interior of the cottage is open and spacious living/dining/kitchen area that is great for family and friend time. The cottage includes flat screen TVs in the living room and both bedrooms. WIFI is Free during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with service for 8 or more with full size stainless steel appliances, garbage disposal, dishwasher, and a stocked Coffee/Tea Bar, making meal preparation easy for you and your family throughout your stay - even Holidays! Meals can be enjoyed in the dining area or screened porch.

A laundry room with full size washer and dryer is also available to make island life more convenient and comfortable; and there is a high chair and pack & play for your infant and toddler needs.

A golf cart is also included with your booking. Information for reserving additional carts will be provided at booking GAS CARTS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT ALL JONBIE COTTAGES & VILLAS and Carts are NOT to be used for hauling luggage, groceries, coolers, etc.

Information on transportation to and from the island along with getting groceries and activities will be provided with your rental.

Great place and location

Our stay was great! Easy check in, golf cart was a necessity! Very clean and comfortable. We didn’t realize this house is actually a duplex. Probably wouldn’t have mattered but was a surprise. Close to beach and the Melrose Restaurant which was wonderful. Very responsive hosts when we had questions. Would definitely stay there again!

A little slice of paradise

If you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation, look no further! This place was absolutely beautiful and a great location with close beach access. We will be renting again! Try the peel and eat shrimp at Old Daufauskie Crab Co but beware the Scrap Iron Teas! They are sneaky!

Hidden Treasure

This was an amazing experience! The island is quiet, friendly and beautiful. While there, we were truly able to slow down, relax and enjoy the wildlife, beaches, shops and the hospitality of everyone there. For my husband and I, it was so much more convenient to rent a private ferry with Island Head on Hilton Head Island. They were so accommodating and there wasn't a luggage limitation and they were great with helping us with loading and unloading our luggage. (Plus, it was at the tail end of tropical storm Debbie) Dafuskie Island is an experience and we have only been gone one day and we already miss the quiet. The house was very roomy, clean and I loved the back screened in porch and watching the sunset over the marsh and the beach is like a 30 second golf cart ride! Tammy and Kurt were wonderful and I only hope to go back soon!

Adventure in Daufuski

The island is quiet and not crowded by usual beach tourist locations. The beaches are clean. It provides lots of historical places to explore and learn. Most restaurants are outdoor seating and light fare. We loved the casual relaxed atmosphere of the island. You must ferry over and travel by golf cart only on the island.

Piece of Paradise

Tjis is a great functional house that captured the peaceful essence of Daufuskie. This house is open and welcoming. Sitting on the back porch was amazing. So much wildlife to see. The beds were extremely comfortable which made for a great nights sleep. One day we hope to return and if this house is available we would absolutely love to stay here again. We highly recommend.

Ocean view cottage

We enjoyed our stay on the property. There was an issue with our original golf cart but it was resolved very quickly, which we greatly appreciated. There is a view of the ocean from the kitchen, but I would not call it oceanfront, which was fine as I had researched the property and knew the cottage was located on the second row of cottages. The only other issue was the dishwasher which we were unable to use, and by the time we realized that, it was time to leave, so we just did a lot of handwashing before checking out.

Heaven by the sea

This was our second time staying at this amazing location. Yes it is remote and difficult to get to but that is the point. Wonderful layout and tons of space with a short walk to the beach. The place insists you slow down and enjoy life. My only regret about this place is having to leave.

Stay at Melrose place

Our house was nice location was not. We were there for the races that weekend. We didn’t realize how far we would be from Haig Point and all of the race happenings. It was freezing and we had an open golf cart. The kitchen was missing several things I thought would be there like coffee filters and a big frying pan. The house itself was very nice and roomy. Our golf cart broke down the first day we were there but was quickly replaced by another one. They responded very quickly to our call. Overall excellent trip!

Great Place!

Family of six (10, 11, 19, 21) all had a blast. Stayed for six nights and certainly didn’t want to leave. This house had everything we needed and was very well appointed. Daufuskie is a hidden gem for sure. Hope to be back!

Relaxing Visit

Kurt met us at the house on our arrival and gave descriptions of the island dining options, tips for golf cart, grill, etc. No rush, and a pleasant introduction for our stay. The house was perfect, the kitchen well stocked, and the back screen porch was wonderful!

Even though not right on beach it's wonderful place. Owners keep everything clean and beautiful. Golf cart is short ride to beach. Wonderful experience.

Amazing Place!

I stumbled upon a VRBO listing for this house by a complete accident and was not sure what to expect since we've never vacationed in South Carolina, let alone Daufuskie Island. And let me tell you, this place is a jem! The house is perfect to begin with, and the hosts made our stay absolutely worry-free! The check-in and check-out are super easy. We stay at VRBO-type places pretty much always, and this check-in/out was the easiest process we've experienced. We very much appreciated recommendations for the things to do, which were plenty. But we tried to take it easy and just enjoy our stay, and it was a success! Totally worth the travel (11 hrs by car, plus the ferry for us). Dog friendliness is worth a separate paragraph. We usually leave our pooch behind because it is so hard to find a place that is dog friendly. I am happy to attest that the house and the entire island are very welcoming to dogs and it looks like the pups really have a grand time spending quality time with their families and all the "potential families" as ours did :) Come to Daufuskie, stay at Tammy and Kurt's place, and tip well everywhere, it is absolutely worth it! -Tanya and Justin (plus 3 kids and 1 dog) from NJ

Perfect place for you to get away.

The adventure begins at the ferry. On your way to the island from the mainland you'll see dolphins and manatees.Exploring the island and hearing the histories were great. The house itself was beautiful. It had all the things you need plus some you didn't think about. Beach a 30 second walk. If I were to muster up a criticism it would be that there were no condiments at all. Thought I checked everywhere so make sure you bring your own if your cooking. You can easily get things from local stores, but you'll be sad about the arm and leg. This was not enough to deter my 5 star rating. The memories will last me 2 more lifetimes.

Outstanding Visit

Was greeted warmly by Kurt when we arrived, who informed us all about the island and good things to know about. The house was amazing and roomy, had everything you could want and more. The beds were super comfy. Overall a great first stay on the island for our family. The golf cart was fast to get around on and lasted all day for our adventures.

Perfect Island Cottage

Daufuskie Island is such a great getaway - relaxing, slow pace, and back to basics. This cottage provides all modern amenities - great kitchen, comfortable beds and baths, and (my favorite) screened back porch. Large gas grill, too. Would definitely choose a JonBie property again! If you visit Daufuskie, you must take Sallie Ann Robinson’s Gullah history tour. She’s so much fun! Also the Daufuskie Adventures Sharks’ Teeth trip is amazing. I’d really like to keep all this secret; but, the people on the island work hard to make sure you have a great trip from telling you how to book the ferry, to recommending activities and restaurants, and seeing to your needs while there. Thanks to Tammy and Kurt for making us feel so welcome and comfortable. Hope to see you again.

A magical mini vacation

I took my 15 year old son, his best friend and our dog to Daufuskie Island. From the ferry ride to the beautiful home we had a wonderful time. Our host was fantastic and super helpful. We plan to go back as soon as possible. Only problem was we didn’t want to leave! Thank you JonBie for a memory we will cherish forever. We will be back!

Great Experience

Daufuskie is such a special place and we will definitely be back. Tammy & Kurt were responsive and enjoyable to work with throughout the reservation process to check out. The house was in a great location with plenty of space! The views were fabulous and the quick walk over the beach was a plus. Sunrises were beautiful! Highly recommend.
