Incredible Mountain Views Minutes from Downtown Salida & The Arkansas River

Your perfect mountain getaway! Only 2.5 hours from Denver with amazing views of the Sangre de Cristo and Collegiate peak mountain ranges right from the front porch.

Only 3 miles to downtown Salida situated in a serene rural neighborhood with fully accessible paved (and snow plowed) roads and never ending views of the milky-way in the evenings.

Take in fishing, tubing or rafting the Arkansas river, skiing or boarding Monarch mountain (only a 30 minute drive) and quick access to Salida’s famous mountain biking / hiking trail system only a 1/4 mile from the house.

Enjoy coffee, breakfast, or cocktails on one of our three decks with 270 degree views of mountains and frequent visiting wildlife including deer, summer hummingbirds and pinon jays.

Amenities include : Hi-def Roku TV (with access to your favorite subscription services - there is no cable TV), flick-of-a-switch propane fireplace for warmth and ambience, ample outdoor parking on driveway (no covered parking), outdoor gas fire table, outdoor grill, brand new appliances and comfortable furniture, high efficiency washer & dryer and heated bathroom floors all add up to making your stay better than being at home. Please note for summer renters there is no central A/C, but with 50-60 degree nights it’s rarely needed with wonderfully cool evening breezes. We do have window and room fans for each room.

Sleeping Arrangements are as follows for 5-6 guests:
• Master Bedroom: Queen bed with USB charging lamps / outlets and newly remodeled ensuite bathroom with heated tile floors (Queen - sleeps 2)
• 2nd Bedroom: Queen bed with USB charging lamps / outlets and newly remodeled shared full bathroom with heated tile floors (Queen - sleeps 2)
• 3rd Bedroom: Full/Double bed with USB charging outlets. This smaller bedroom shares the bathroom with the 2nd bedroom. It is ideally set up for one person but can sleep two smaller people / kids (Full bed - sleeps 1-2). Winter Renters - please note that our home is heated with a propane furnace on the same level as the bedrooms which can sound like a large fan when it is running - the sound in the twin bedroom can be challenging for light sleepers. In winter, we recommend that guests who have sleep/sound sensitivities bring ear plugs. PLEASE NOTE: we DO NOT allow additional guests to stay in the living room or in non-bedroom areas on inflatable mattresses or on couches.

This is a non-smoking property - this means no smokers.

Please note that there are Ring cameras on the exterior of this property for the protection of the homeowners and our guests.

Valley View above Salida

The location in the hills was fabulous and enjoyed every sunrise. The home had a familiar setting by design. It made a wonderful work and vacation property.

Wonderful house!

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was just as the pictures showed and extremely clean. Kitchen was well stocked with anything you may need for cooking meals. Great communication with host and super easy checkin. Will definitely keep this house on our list if/when we return to the Salida area.

No need to look anywhere else

Well they don't have any rating higher than a 5/5....this place is a 10 hands down. Propane fireplace- heated flooring in the bathrooms. Too many great things to list. Sunsets and sunrises with mountain views! Close to downtown and Monarch ski resort. We loved this place!!

Views for Days

We had a lovely stay at Casa de Piñons! The home is beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. The view is absolutely breathtaking from the front and the back. We enjoyed the nearby trails and loved our time in the precious town of Salida!

The Go-to Getaway

Met up with lifelong friends to spend a snowy weekend in the mountains. The view and ambiance of this home makes you think twice about leaving. We sat talking, watching the storms roll in and out, from dark to bright again. In the end, we managed the perfect amount of unwind and adventure and enjoyed every minute of our stay. As other reviews have stated, this is a place you will want to return to again and again--bright, modern, and full of amenities... like a beautiful kitchen, floor heat, and a guitar. What's not to love?

This is an extremely nice house and we absolutely loved our stay. They kitchen was well equipped, the bedding, pillows, furnishings, were all top notch and the view... What. A. View. 10/10 would recommend and hope to stay at this place again.

Impeccable vacation home with amazing views. We had a very relaxing weekend; the area is so peaceful and quiet. Host was very responsive and easy to work with. We especially enjoyed being able to access mountain bike and hiking trails without getting in the car.

Considerable amenities, thoughtfully upgraded

The rental was just the right size for our group of four adults but could accommodate five. The home has been modernized and is very attractive with plenty of appliances, cookware and utensils for daily meals. I appreciated the local flavor of the furnishings and artwork, especially Austin’s, and the views were outstanding.

Wonderful stay

Our family had a wonderful stay in this beautifully remodeled and decorated home with high quality appliances and products provided for our use. The home was very clean and the listing is accurate, if anything the pictures don’t fully capture just how nice the space is. The owners were super responsive and thoughtfully provided instructions in a welcome manual. This home felt like a well cared for home more than a rental. This home has been one of our favorite Vrbo stays and will be our first choice for Salida trips in the future.

Beautiful Property & Views

We stayed here for a week to ski Monarch. This is the cleanest, most well stocked, comfortable and beautifully decorated property we’ve ever stayed in. The owners are amazing and communicated with us several times during our stay to check on how things were going. Check in was flawless, everything was labeled, a step by step instruction book on how to operate everything, heated bathroom floors, comfy beds/bedding, well appointed kitchen, a welcome basket, I could go on and on! Five Stars from us! And the views of the mountains absolutely cannot be beat! Breathtaking at every time of the day.

Excellent family home with mountain views

Our family of 5, from Iowa, stayed for 4 nights in early August. The home was family friendly and has everything you would need to be comfortable in summer (and also winter). It was well equipped with everyday amenities (everything is nicely labeled) and there is even a game cabinet. It was the perfect base for our adventures in the area. The neighborhood itself is very quiet and peaceful. It is nice for walking and nature watching. We were able to watch deer and rabbits from the front and back of the home. The mountain views from the front are INCREDIBLE, and they get even better from the deck on the hillside. Communication with the owner was fast and helpful!

Seven Peaks

Casa de Piñones was delightful and we enjoyed our three-night stay very much. The home was well equipped – well-appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, plush bath towels. We appreciated the detailed instructions placed throughout the house as well as the fascinating information found in the very detailed Guest Reference Book. There were many amenities – kitchen spices, hand lotion, shampoo and conditioner, Q-tips too! The house is close to Salida, with wonderful restaurants and local shops, yet in a quiet and serene neighborhood. The wi-fi was very stable and the views were absolutely unbelievable. What a great place to simply unwind and relax!

A PERFECT PLACE TO STAY

We were pleased with everything the second we arrived! Our Host was very accommodating and helpful when we had questions. We spent much of our time out on trails and playing in the river, but we always looked forward to returning back to the house to enjoy the views and all the comfort it had to offer! This is definitely a home we hope is available for our future visits!

Unobstructed Panoramic Views!

Perfect, newly renovation house just minutes from center of Salida. Interior decor fantastic. Fully equipped kitchen and baths with all the amenities. Linens and towels high quality for a wonderful start and finish to each day of hiking or sightseeing. Perfectly located to all attractions with trailheads starting just .5 miles from the front door! The upper deck behind the house is the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or evening wine as you watch the unbelievable sunsets. We neither needed nor wanted for anything during our two week stay though owner was but a text away. He checked on us from time to time to see if there was anything additional he could do or that we needed. Couldn't have asked for a better stay or more attentive and conscientious owners. Hands down our favorite VRBO rental yet and we've stayed in dozens. Can't wait to return!

The VIEWS! The Perfect Small Mountain Town Getaway!

We had the unique opportunity to be the first guests at Casa de Pinones and without hesitation would return again! And while we originally thought we might like to stay in town, we absolutely made the right decision to stay a few miles out and enjoy the peaceful silence and dark starry nights that are beyond description. And the views...Heavens, Million Dollar Views with the most incredible sunrises and stunning sunsets imaginable. Especially from the furnished upper deck which makes for the perfect morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. Recently gutted and fully remodeled, the owners appeared to have paid attention to detail. The heated bathroom floors are an absolute treat and the "flip of a switch" fireplace not only provides a cozy ambiance, but really kicks out the heat. The linens and towels are cotton & plush and the beds are very comfortable. Casa de Pinones is extremely well equipped, we didn't want or need for anything. Having spices, sugar, coffee & tea was great! All the appliances are top line/state of the art and the decor is fabulous. All of the artwork hails from local artists and even includes a few pieces from the owners themselves. How do I know this? Well, because the Guest Reference Book is a plethora of information including Before & After remodel photos of the property, detailed information about the appliances, procedures, maps, menus, and more. The Roku TV allows you to connect to your streaming services and the WiFi is solid. I was concerned because I had to spend part of the time working remotely and there wasn't even the slightest glitch...even with video conferencing. Best office views I've ever had! As a seasoned VRBOer (is that a word?), I rarely give all 5 Stars, but we can say with absolute certainty Casa de Pinones is deserving of such a rating! You won't regret your stay...enjoy!

spent the better part of a year-and-a-half remodeling almost every aspect of it. We hope that you enjoy our little oasis in Salida and the surrounding areas.
