Cabins Out Back - Nest - Cozy Cabin for Two Only Four Miles to Town

Come to the heart of the Hill Country in Fredericksburg...a place you can unwind from the city life. The fresh air and the stargazing are magnificent. See the wildlife of whitetail and Axis deer, wild birds, turkeys, and our 15+ pastured chickens. We are less than 10 minutes from downtown, but yet you feel you're in another world.

The 'Nest' is a ~308 square ft. cabin with a king sized bed, lots of windows, kitchenette with microwave and small fridge and full-sized bath with Tub/Shower combination. Also includes flat screen TV with streaming. This cabin sleeps two.

Brew a coffee or tea with the Keurig coffee maker and take a seat on the front porch. Please note that beginning August 2025, we will not be serving fresh breakfast.

Getaway

We so enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect, chickens were friendly! Breakfasts’ were awesome, chocolate croissants were our favorite. This will be our go to spot for getaways to Fredericksburg.

Great get away!!!

The cabin and property are great… the breakfast phenomenal!!! Very convenient to town and the surrounding areas. Would definitely stay again.

Great weekend getaway!

This cabin is a fantastic getaway just a short drive from downtown Fredericksburg! The cabin was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was delicious, and Jason was a wonderful host.

Perfect Getaway!

Always A Great Stay

This is the place we look to stay every year when we come--the atmosphere is wonderful, the amenities are charming, the breakfast is super, and Jason is a great host. Would 10/10 recommend.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

My husband and I had a WONDERFUL time. Jason was such a great host and blew us away with the amazing breakfasts. The area was very quiet and pretty, the cabin perfectly cozy. It was only about 10 minutes from town, which was perfect. We’ve been telling all our friends and family if they visit Fredericksburg to check out staying here!

Cozy and Peaceful Property

The perfect getaway. Plus, chickens!

We had a great time. Breakfast was tasty, the location was great, the cabin was cute, and the chickens were so much fun to watch. I’m already looking to book all the cabins for a family trip in the future. Highly recommend!

Cozy Cabin, Starlit Skies, and Chicken Caretakers

The missus and I both enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin was great. Breakfast was excellent both days we stayed. We got some great stargazing in the evenings. Most amusing part was the chickens that would come and hang out with us on the porch. I assume they were the guards... Highly recommend!

Great Stay

We will definitely come back! Jason was a great host and a great cook. The food was delicious. We loved the cabin with the chickens roaming free. Jason was very polite and engaged on how to make our stay the best possible. My daughter and I loved the whole weekend!

Perfect Getaway

We loved this spot. It was clean, cute and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. It's not far from Main St in Fredericksburg at all, but it's far enough away to enjoy the quiet and be out of the hustle and bustle. We also did some hiking at Enchanted Rock, and it was only about 30 minutes away from there. It was a great location and the hosts were great. Breakfast came at the perfect time each morning, and otherwise they were just available if you needed them. I definitely recommend staying here.

So lovely!

My husband and I loved our two night stay at The Nest! Jason is an amazing host! Breakfast was yummy (delivered to your room!), and the bed was super comfy. Loved sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch and watching the chickens walk around. Will definitely be back!

Weekend Getaway

The whole weekend was amazing. Jason's Breakfast is on the next level! The chickens were a nice distraction each morning, got lots of laughs over coffee. We will most definitely be back.

Cozy cabin to unwind in!

We were greeted by friendly chickens as soon as we stepped out of our car and onto this beautiful country property. We were very pleased with the state of the cabin, which was clean and well kept. We were impressed by the amount amenities provided as well. Jason was a very kind and gracious host and answered any questions we had. And of course the breaksfasts were delicious!!

Love the Nest!!

We loved our time at the Nest! Jason the host was amazing. Gave us lots of great recommendations and his breakfast each morning was spot on! So lovely to see Jason pull up on his golf cart with a hot homemade breakfast. The chickens roaming the property were fun and provided some entertainment. The cabin was spotlessly clean, and had all the essentials. We will definitely be back!!

I was born and raised in West Texas. After 15 years in corporate retail in the DFW area, I’m leaving the big city for Fredericksburg. I’m excited to take over the Cabins Out Back from my parents, Steve & Glenda, and continue their tradition of hosting delightful stays!
