Short stroll to beach, restaurants and the village!

Whether you're looking to spend time with your family, friends or by yourself, this cottage is for you. We are located one block west of the Crab Trap, Crabdaddy's and the Beachcomber, 2 blocks from the beach with access through the King & Prince Resort and about a 10 minute walk to mini golf, the public pool, lighthouse and the downtown village.

Recently renovated and decorated, this cottage is comfortable and cozy with 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen-size beds and the bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds. The master bedroom has a private bath. The hall bathroom has a huge shower. The kitchen is open with a large island and living room with a fireplace. There is also a game room in the back with a washer and dryer for your convenience. Enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch swing as walkers and bikers wave 'hello' as they pass.

Loved it

Very comfortable and clean house in great location. Kitchen was well stocked; beds were comfortable; the cottage just had a very nice feel. This is my favorite location on the island; rental bikes from the shop a couple blocks away, and then everything from East Beach to the Village is a quick bike ride. Everything about the rental process and communication was great.I highly recommend.

Location and Charm

Great SSI cottage with fantastic location and lots of charm! Beautifully updated and decorated! Hall bath is spacious! Would recommend additional silverware in kitchen. Easy check in and check out! Walk to Fiddlers, Beachcombers, Crabdaddys, Crab Trap, The Porch, Frostys! Walk to Pickleball courts or the beach!

Great House!

This is a great house! It took our family about 5 minutes to walk to the beach. The house is clean and simple. The front porch and backyard are wonderful!

Great House, Great Location

The house was perfectly laid out for our two small families and mother-in-law. The kitchen was beautiful and amply supplied, and the bonus room was great for the kids to hang out in during the morning while the adults slept in. Host was very responsive.

Great stay

As advertised. Clean. Close to the beach. Close to restaurants and town. Easy check in/out process. Responsive host. Only thing better would be an outside shower.

Perfect Little Cottage for a Family

The cottage was so charming and provided plenty of space for the family. It was a perfect little stroll to the beach and so close to the local restaurants and shops. We had an amazing visit. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Very relaxing girls trip

We have nothing but good things to say about this property. The location was perfect, you can literally walk to beach access across the street. The house is so cute and was so comfortable! The porch and the sun room were perfect for our morning coffee. The check in and out instructions were so clear, we had no issues. We had the best experience!

We had the best week with family at this cottage! Appears small on the outside but we had plenty of room! Location is great for walking to beach and restaurants! We had everything we needed!

Clean and Comfortable

This is our second stay at the property and it was even better than we remembered. Vintage SSI vibes with modern conveniences. We enjoyed the charcoal grill on the new back patio area. Convenient to public beach access. Front porch swing is a favorite spot to sip morning coffee.

Sweet Property close to restaurants and beach access

We had an amazing time at this cottage on St Simon’s. There was a great amount of space for 2 families of 4. The kids loved the bunk room. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, the backyard, the walk to a couple restaurants and the brewery and the short stroll to the beach. It was clean and perfect for our long weekend with family!

Mother’s Day Weekend

My sister and I brought our Mom on a weekend get away for Mother’s Day. We had a great time. The house has that beachy cottage look and feel. We loved the front porch and spent a lot of time sitting out there enjoying the scenery. Great location and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The cottage was very clean and neat. Kitchen well stocked with dishes , silverware, drink ware etc… The bedrooms are a nice size with dressers and small closet to put your things away. Loved the sun porch. Very comfortable. Convenience of washer/dryer in cottage. The home has both a regular coffe machine and a Kerig. Bring coffee filters and coffee. You will want to pick up extra paper products, garbage bags, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent if you stay more than a few days. The furniture in the living was very comfy. The whole cottage was very comfortable. I would recommend this VRBO to anyone. Will be back. My husband and I rented it over a year ago. A good place to rent.

Adorable beach cottage near everything!!

This was the cutest little renovated beach cottage! The location was absolutely perfect for walking to restaurants, the beach, the lighthouse, etc. Had everything we needed for our short four day spring break trip! Highly recommend this little gem and will hopefully be back soon!

Weekend with my daughters

A lovely house within walking distance to the beach and some great restaurants on the island. Having the fireplace was perfect for what turned out to be a cold, rainy weekend on SSI.

Labor Day stay!

This house is homey and chic! The location is awesome for walking to and from the public beach access near the King and Prince and different restaurants nearby! My girl friends and I were very comfortable here and loved sitting on the porch in the morning enjoying our coffee!

Summer Vacation

Loved everything about this place and it comes exactly as advertised. With 7, it can be hard to find a place that is comfortable but this didn’t disappoint. This definitely felt like home when we finished with the beach and our vacation activities. Clean, spacious, modern and great location. 5 minute walk to beach, a few shops and Crab Trap. Less than a mile to the village. We wouldn’t even look at other places next time we come to SSI.

Perfect for our visit

The arrangement of the house was perfect for us. With a 1 year old, her parents and my husband and myself (grandparents) we were able to spread out to sleep. The open concept was perfect for having my family over to visit from the other side of the island. Recommend this place!

Love St Simons Island

We love staying at Making Memories! This vintage cottage is charming and welcoming. This was our 3rd visit and we feel at home the minute we walk in the door! We had no complaints except we could have used some lids for the larger pots and pans since we cooked most of our meals in the cottage. (only the smaller pots had lids) Thank you Jennifer for providing such a great place to continue "making memories"!!

Great House

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location, walked to restaurants (great food), and to the beach. House was very comfortable and nicely furnished. My granddaughters loved the bunk bed room. We also had my 95 year old aunt with us and she enjoyed having cable tv instead of streaming other networks. Will definitely plan for a return stay.

Sweet Cottage, close to everything

Our daughter and her family stay at this cottage for a week each week when they come to visit, and they love it. This year, I needed to make a change to the dates that we had scheduled and the owner was wonderful to work with us in making the changes.

We have always loved coming to St. Simons to visit family and have dreamed of owning a home here. In the spring 2010 we stumbled upon a little cottage that needed help. After months of renovations and collecting furniture we moved in! It has become a retreat from our crazy everyday lives. Jim's Grandmother, Nannie, used to look around at a family gathering and say, 'Look, we're making memories.' We hope to spend many happy years 'Making Memories' here. We hope to to share it with others as well.

Our little cottage is for a group that wants to spend time together. Unlike many of the larger homes on the island the Making Memories cottage has smaller cozy, yet open spaces. The oversized island and comfortable barstools allow everyone to help or just hang out in the kitchen. The open living area with it's Smart TV and lots of seating is perfect for movie watching and great conversation. A short stroll to many restaurants and the village also makes the cottage a great place to enjoy St. Simons Island.
