Coltsfoot Cottage nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

Come enjoy the South Carolina mountains of Oconee County. Coltsfoot Cottage, located at Coltsfoot Farm, is on a small horse farm in the quaint community of Mountain Rest. We are seated at just over 1800 feet of elevation within a mile and a half from the sparkling Chattooga River. For shopping and dining, Highlands, NC, Clayton, GA and Walhalla, SC are just a short drive of 30 minutes (or less) from this unique property. Relax in beautiful mountain scenery and see astonishing sunsets. We have friendly animals including dogs, a barn cat and horses, so animal lovers will enjoy this space. We do not allow any animals into the cottage. The cottage is a guest cottage so it is situated adjacent to the main residence. No fireworks please due to the animals and risk of forest fires.

Stayed 2 nights. Fly fishing in the area. Very close to Chattooga River. On same grounds as Owners (Patrick & Jennifer) but private. Very nice couples cabin. Amazing outdoor sitting area and fireplace. Visit Chattooga River Fly Shop if you need any supplies. Great folks.

This stay was one of our top stays. Jennifer and Patrick could lead a class on how to host. Every detail was cared for and the property is incredibly lovely. Combine that with their proximity to the protected and very scenic Chatooga River and many other parks, trails and towns to visit and you have a great vacation. They provide detailed maps to help plan excursions and also advice on places to visit. I particularly enjoyed the outside areas that they have created to sit and relax. While their home is situated nearby, they have arranged their mountain top property such that you have privacy - with some truly gorgeous landscaping. Highly recommend- hope we can return.

The cottage was impressively decorated and welcoming with snacks in the kitchen! My wife enjoyed playing an LP album on the phonograph and reading through the materials available. We especially appreciated the book on waterfalls in the area, as that was part of the reason for our visit. We met the hosts and enjoying watching Patrick feed the 3 horses and tell us about the canine welcoming committee, Foxy and Hank. It's a great place to visit!

Amazing little cottage tucked away in the mountains! A perfect place for a quiet escape. Lots of hiking nearby with an abundance of waterfalls. The host were wonderful and always welcoming!

Everything in the cottage is clean, stocked, and just waiting for you to get there and really enjoy your few days or week in the mountains. You will not find nicer or friendlier hosts than Jenefer and Patrick.

Peaceful, relaxing, and unique

Properties and cabin is warm and welcoming. Owners are exceptional people who love being able to provide a great place for a short get away to enjoy the upstate of South Carolina.

Beautiful Getaway

First off, the communication with the owners was fantastic and they were so sweet to have a fire already lit for us when we arrived late at night and some muffins for breakfast. The cottage is beautifully done and we would definitely come back if we ever get back this way. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to get a peaceful hideaway in the area.

Relaxing long weekend

Wonderful place to get away from it all! Really had a great time doing a lot of not much at all:) well appointed cabin in a natural setting. Loved everything about it and the location is perfect for whatever you want or need including dining out or getting into the woods and getting away from it all. Will be back !

I would give 6 stars, if I could! We stayed 2 days & nights while we hiked to 3 local waterfalls. Hosts are very personable, with excellent communication; the cottage is cozy, beautifully decorated, well-maintained. We never want to stay in a hotel again!

Peaceful retreat

My wife and I had a great time! The cottage was so nice with a lot of interesting touches. Beautiful view from the deck and fire pit. Everything was provided for a wonderful time.

Quiet and Comfortable getaway

My wife and I enjoyed the quiet, peaceful outdoors surrounding this cozy cottage. The hosts are genuine friendly and welcoming. The cottage is warm and perfect for a couple. Enjoy the quiet and colorful sunsets! We will be back.

Secluded with WiFi and cell service.

Property and owners are great. Cottage is very unique and original. Layout of the farm is great and very peaceful. Cottage is close to main house, but the back porch, patio and fireplace are mostly secluded.

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay here at Coltsfoot. Very peaceful and quiet. Patrick and Jennifer were great hosts. We barely even knew they were at their main house on the property. On the first night when we arrived, my wife tested the Keurig and found out it wasn't working correctly, which honestly wasn't even a big deal. Before she woke up the next morning they brought us a new one. When we arrived we were greated by the true hosts. 2 dogs and 1 cat. All of which were very sweet and just wanted to meet the new people. The back patio/fireplace was as great place to watch the sunset each evening and catch a nap in the hammock.Before we left we were already taking about when we would try and come back.

refreshing

The cottage is unique in almost every way. Great Wi-Fi and Internet service, quiet, beautiful property, very friendly hosts, and makes you hate having to leave and come back home. This is my fourth or fifth stay and I am planning and looking forward to my next stay in about 2 months.

Coltsfoot Cottage

Property is totally private and beautifully decorated. Every thing you need is provided. If you want some downtime with beautiful Mountain views, this is the place. We saw waterfalls and went to nearby Highlands. We will return again!

2nd Time even better!

Our expectations were highthis time around base on our first visit to Coltsfoot Cottage, this time Jennifer, Patrick, Foxy, and Hank totally set the bar at its highest for all other VRBO hosts! WOW! The peace and tranquility here is found nowhere else for us. We will be a guest for life! You will not regret staying here!
