Escape to the enchanting embrace of our charming cottage, nestled in the tamaracks and set along the banks of the Betsie River. Walk the 14-acre estate grounds full of Northern Michigan natural beauty. This quiet escape features wildlife sightings, a covered front porch, riverfront access - all a close drive to beaches, and charming towns.
Ideal as an intimate escape for two; offering a peaceful ambiance. Located just a mile from the golf course, dining, spa, and art park of Crystal Mountain, it provides the ideal blend of adventure and relaxation. Whether you choose to explore the nearby beaches, wineries, or immerse yourself in the local charming beach communities our cottage serves as the perfect home base.

Kindly Note: Due to the unique nature of the property and home, we’re unable to accommodate children or animals. This rental is located on our private residence where we raise and care for breeding Corgis. Due to the risk of communicable diseases such as Brucellosis, no animals of any kind can be permitted on the property under any circumstance. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause - and please know this is not a decision we take lightly.

This cottage is located next to our home and includes a 5 corgi greeting committee. While they do not have access to the cottage - they do have access to the yard. This is also why kindly ask for no pets.

The cabin was a perfect place for some much needed R&R. We were there for 2 nights, 3 days. The location was great to go to Manistee or Traverse City

This was hands down one of the best VRBO experiences I've ever had. We were in town for the Ironman 70.3 in Frankfort, and this location was perfect, as it was 20min from the race event, and 45min from Traverse City.The hosts were absolutely amazing--great communication and conversation, friendly as can be, and went above and beyond by creating signs for my wife's race. The corgis on the property were as welcoming as expected. Truly can't imagine a better experience for our first time in northern Michigan.

Ellen is fantastic! Highly recommend this property. She is super responsive to any questions or concerns. Location was fantastic to golf at Arcadia Bluffs. And who can be mad at a swarm of corgis. The answer is no one, and if they are, they're crazy. Looking forward to staying here again if we are in the area.

I absolutely love this place… it has great easy access to Crystal Mountain, Interlochen & Frankfort…Lake MI… beautiful beach!!… & Point Betsy lighthouse…it’s quiet with the luxury of great kitchen, & lovely porch.

We loved our stay here! It was perfect for what we needed. The host was super nice and welcoming. She even brought us over fresh flowers which was so sweet. We also really enjoyed meeting the corgis on the property!

We stayed at this cute cottage for our anniversary and it was perfect. Ellen was great and greeted us with a warm welcome. She checked on us to make sure our stay was comfortable. We loved seeing the corgis as well!

Oh, we loved this so much! Perfect accommodations for us. The location was near the venues we were visiting for a wedding. We lived that it was nestled in an area away from the road. We loved the tranquil views from front porch and being greeted by the corgis.

Exactly what my husband and I were looking for. Clean, quiet, lovely cottage with awesome hosts, and central to everything we wanted to do. The Corgi reception was adorable!

We were delighted with our stay here. Everything was clean & ready for us. Ellen, our host, was ready for us when we arrived and showed where we could find things… & was available by text & very responsive. This little house had everything you’d need & sitting on the porch in the peace of this place was SO refreshing! Highly recommend & will return!

Beautifully kept cottage and property. Very friendly help. Great location near Crystal Mountain. We requested to see the corgis pups and they were adorable! Highly recommend!

Great Location!

We loved staying at this property! It only took 4 minutes to get to Crystal Mountain and we loved the convenience. The property is very well maintained and we will definitely stay here again. Be aware that the master bed is comfortable but quite soft. We loved meeting the Corgis and they loved meeting us! Thank you so much for having us!

Beautiful property.

We took part in our annual event at Crystal Mountain and this location was perfect. One minute down the road from Crystal's entrance. The owners were extremely friendly and communicative, the property was beautiful, very quiet and the corgi welcoming committee was greatly appreciated.

Crystal Mountain getaway

The cottage was in a perfect location to get to Crystal Mountain. The cottage was just as advertised. Very clean and we got morning greetings from the corgis on the property who would come say hi at our door. Ellen was very responsive and gladly brought over some cooking supplies so we could make food in the cottage. We’ll definitely be looking for the cottage next time we come to town!

Cute cottage

This cottage, adjacent to a family home, was perfect for our weekend away. Owners were on top of everything and added homey touches like fresh flowers. Only drawback is that both bedroom doors are glass-fronted, which is not great for light or privacy. That's my only complaint, and that's very small, but might be a dealbreaker for some.

Thank you Valerie! We loved hosting you and hope you had fun! Oh my goodness - we actually have some curtains for the doors just for that reason! That's a great point, though - we should add a note for guests to ask for them at check in. Hope you come back - we'll have the curtains ready ;)

Betsy River House

Beautiful place, Ellen was helpful and gracious. The Corgis were an added bonus; however, the home is listed as riverside an it is not. The home is situated near the river but it's a few minute walk to get to it. It can't be seen from the house. Other than that, it's a really nice place.
