The newly renovated and upgraded Sunset Cottage is a charming single story vacation home located in a quiet and exclusive residential hillside neighborhood in the Village of La Jolla (Country Club Golf Course). From the deck, living room, kitchen, and master bedroom visitors can enjoy a breathtaking 180 degre ocean view that creates unforgettable moments and pure relaxation. Within walking distance is the La Jolla Cove, a protected Natural Reserve, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. An additional half mile more guests can enjoy the La Jolla Shores offering additional activities, such as kayaking, surfing, paddle board and more.
The master bedroom has a private bath and is equipped with a Cal-king size bed. The 2nd bedroom offers a queen-size bed and an electric fireplace. There is also a single rollaway bed and Queen size air mattress available. Upon request we can provide a crib and high chair. The fully equipped kitchen has granite countertops, new appliances, washer/dryer and air conditioning. When sitting at the dining table, visitors can enjoy the ocean view and breathtaking sunsets.

Our 'Sunset Cottage' has been completely remodeled. The comfortable living room offers a 50” plasma TV with cable TV. Both bathrooms are recently remodeled. Washer and dryer and WiFi are available. We have added A/C!
There are NO steps whatsoever and the doors and hallway are wide.
We are perfect to accommodate elderly and handicap guest.

What a view!! Girls trip. Two of us. We did not cook or do laundry while we were there. The home is beautiful and immaculate, the beds comfortable, the showers great! The host was easy to communicate with! Did I mention the view?! My only piece of advice is that if you walk into town, you might want to Uber back! That hill was a little tough for us to climb! Maybe nexttime we’ll bring our husbands!

This cottage is situated perfectly on a hill overlooking La JollaWe only got to stay one night, but when we are back in town we are hoping to enjoy the property again

Beautiful views in the heart of downtown la jolla

Went to school at UCSD and always love making my way back to La Jolla when I’m in SoCal. Brought my family along this trip and really enjoyed the stay. The property has gorgeous views of La Jolla and is so close to all of the things you need. My family and I had a blast!

It's all about the view

Accommodations were good; the location and view were awesome. The kitchen is very well equipped and we appreciated the spacious refrigerator/freezer with an icemaker. You'll want to bring shower gel, shampoo and Kleenex.

Just right!

We were two couples wanting to take advantage of area golf, paragliding, hiking, and good food. Found them all and this property was perfectly located to take advantage of La Jolla and San Diego. Views out the window were spectacular and owner was great.

Incredible view and everything you need

The view from Sunset Cottage is second to none! Francis, the host, is helpful and available and the house is well-stocked with everything you may need. It is located close enough to walk to Girard St in La Jolla but also far enough away from the hubbub of downtown. We will definitely be back.

Exploring San Diego

Very clean which is important to us! Had all needed basic necessities! Perfect location to explore the San Diego/la Jolla area. Very relaxing atmosphere to return to each evening to chill and watch the beautiful sunset and rest before beginning our next day’s explorations! So nice to have a washer/dryer, beach towels and cooler to borrow!! Thank you!!

Wonderful place to stay

My husband, three children and I absolutely loved our stay at Sunset Cottage. The view of the ocean was spectacular and the house was nicely furnished. It was also so nice to have laundry detergent, paper towels, napkins and several rolls of toilet paper left for us so we didn’t need to go out and purchase that. Beds were comfy and the owners have a nice information binder with lots of great restaurant suggestions and things to do in the area as well as maps. The house is located on a nice quiet street and the location was great to get around to the local restaurants and stores. We would definitely stay here again the next time we vacation to San Diego!

Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Property was exactly as described. We had everything we needed and more. Property was very clean and well maintained. Homeowner was extremely responsive and helpful. I was traveling with my elderly mother. House was very easy for her to manage with zero stairs. I enjoyed short walks down into town and up further into hills. We enjoyed the view and spacious living room. We would definitely stay here again.

Incredible view and location

The pictures of this place don't do it justice. It definitely overdelivers. It's a 2/2 house on the top of the hill surrounded by mansions in a great neighborhood in La Jolla. Extremely safe, only 10 min walk to downtown La Jolla. The view from the bedroom and living room are absolutely spectacular. Owner was very responsive and helpful. I will definitely stay here again! Thank you for offering your property to rent for others to enjoy becuase this place is a gem!

Well maintained home with Beautiful Sunset

The property was perfect for our grandparent/grandchild trip. The two bedroom/two bath was ideal for our needs. Not only was there a washer/dryer, they provided the soap. The house was very clean and the view of the ocean and sunset was spectacular and was icing on the cake. A warning...If you are a walker, the last portion of the road up to the house is fairly steep.

Great view. Difficult to find. No dvd player or tv in master b/r. No complimentary coffee for first day. 1/3 roll paper towels without additional supplies. Door in master bedroom sticks. We had a great stay. Could use Grab bars in the showers for us seniors. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Stunning view and quiet retreat

This was a great place to stay at in La Jolla for my husband and I. We would definitely stay here again. The house is in a quiet neigborhood and yet it is only a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. It is only a short drive to the major San Diego attractions. The house could easily accommodate 2 couples or a family. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. In general, the house was well stocked with the things we needed. Having a/c in the entire house was appreciated as there were a few warm days. Sitting outside on the balcony and enjoying the gorgeous 180 degree ocean view is a real treat. The view is also great from the living room master bedroom, and kitchen. Francis was wonderful--she was a pleasure to work with. She made sure that everything went well while still giving us a private get away. We have stayed at a lot of rental houses and this one is a 5+ out of 5!

Great views throughout the entire home and with a private balcony to enjoy them! Easy parking. Easy checkin/checkout. Walking distance to food, drink, the cove and tide pools. Easy to take a run along the coast and a trail with a view up the hill. Quick and easy communication with the host. Would recommend and return!

Francis was a lovely & thoughtful host, checking in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. His home was so clean, bright and comfortable, with beautiful ocean views, a well stocked kitchen for cooking light meals, and a clothes washer & dryer - perfect for active guests and longer stays. My husband and I love to walk whenever possible, so we were happy with the convenient walking distance to local cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, and downtown La Jolla, as well as the La Jolla coastal trails and beaches. We also loved the ocean view deck for enjoying Al Fresco breakfasts, and sunsets after a day out.

Lovin La Jolla

Stayed at this beautiful beach cottage up in the hills. The view and neighborhood are gorgeous. You can walk to town. Stayed a week and didn't want to leave. So many great restaraunts in close proximity. Stunning sunsets every evening.
