Perfect peaceful family getaway or reunion location. Sit and enjoy the gardens while listening to the waves crash on nearby Carmel Beaches. You have a choice ... We are 6 mins walk from the main Carmel Beach and 9 mins from the Carmel River State Beach. Our home is a 1750 sqft 2bed / 2bath beach-home with high ceilings and wall to wall LIGHT! It's tastefully appointed to help you immerse yourself in a California beach experience.

There's lots of living, cooking and 'kids play' space inside and outside the home. There's comfortable dining and sitting space for 8 in the living room, the dining room and on the back patio. We have 4 flat screen TVs, with Netflix and Amazon Prime. There is a 3D TV with 9 viewing glasses, a 3D DVD player, video library and some 3D movies! Broadband Wifi reaches all areas of the house. There is a professional 6-speaker discrete in-ceiling system.

We have a small library and the gas fireplace is remote controlled. Relaxing after a long day is easy when every bed is a memory foam mattress. Waking up, enjoy the roses, citrus trees and succulent gardens with your coffee. In short, the typical Carmel paradise. Don't be surprised to be sharing it with hummingbirds, squirrels and blue jays. The young kids will love the den containing a bunk bed and a secret bonus room filled with goodies!

The Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant (owned by Clint Eastwood) is a fantastic restaurant to have 200 yards from the front door. It has a Piano Bar as well as outdoor seating to watch the sunsets and the sheep! The Sunday Brunch is highly recommended ! Less than a mile (0.9miles/20mins walk) away is the shopping and restaurants of 'Carmel by the Sea' on Ocean Avenue. For an extra 5 mins you can walk back via Scenic Drive overlooking the Carmel beach. Nearby is Point Lobos State Reserve. We recommend a 5min drive and park on the road by the entrance and then walk in. It's beaches are so beautiful several movie beach scenes have been filmed there. The famous Carmel Mission, and Mission Trail Park are also about half a mile walk. Beautiful beaches and coastal paths extend for 3 miles past Carmel River State Beach towards Point Lobos and are walkable from the house if the river does not cut through the beach

The home is beautiful and comfortable. It's situated between downtown and 2 beaches, so it a great spot for walking or a short drive to either. The neighborhood is quiet, and it's a great spot to settle in after a busy day. Lack of AC was not an issue at all.

Owners and property manager were responsive and helpful. The cottage is lovely - basically two primary suites and then a children’s area. The light in the cottage is very nice - windows and skylights make it inviting. The cottage is close to everything - we especially enjoyed daily walks around the scenic loop. Highly recommend this VRBO for two couples or families.

Great place that in our opinion is actually nicer than the photos indicate. The garage that has been turned into a playroom was a huge hit for our kids. They especially loved the boombox that plays CDs and cassettes! We unfortunately had to deal with an ant invasion while we were there, but the property manager was very responsive in providing bait that was stronger than the plastic Raid traps scattered about the house. Property is located at the southern end of town, which requires either a drive or 15 minute walk into the center of Carmel by the Sea. Carmel River State Beach is about a 1/2-mile south.

We had a wonderful stay! We enjoyed the proximity to the two beaches and Mission Ranch. Our toddler really enjoyed the bonus playroom.The house itself was lovely, though dated, and accommodated our family of 5 well. I did contact the hosts about some worn towels and broken hair dryer and they responded same day and ordered the items over night for us which was very much appreciated!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this delightful property. The place is bright and cheery, very comfortable, and in a great location. I hope we can come back with the family and grandkids sometime, as it is a perfect accommodation for that.

"Tranquility" is the right name this for this great home. Right down the street from the hustle and bustle of downtown Carmel by the Sea, it feels like your in a distant beach community. Beautiful common areas inside and out. Walking through the front door for the first time does NOT disappoint. :-)Light and bright with a great vibe. Exactly 1.0 mile light walk to Ocean Blvd through a wonderful neighborhood. And the beach through the neighborhood the other way. Want to have dinner at Mission Ranch? Take to 3-4 minutes to walk there and put your name on list. Go back to the house and have a glass of wine until your table is ready. Just awesome.Everyone, from my 90 yr young mother to my mid 20s family members had a wonderful time. *An important note if you're not familiar with the area. Parking at the home was a breeze. (Not a common thing in Carmel by the Sea!)Also, everything was well documented with the in-home binders or self explanatory.Great place for family / extended family of all ages.

John, We are sorry the mattress did not suit your tastes. We did declare they are memory foam in our property description. Unfortunately, if we were to change them, we would lose regular guests who love them and ask where we bought them. This is documented in our reviews. This property makes a wonderful stay. Plenty of room, basic amenities, great location, comfortable beds, close access to the ocean, and quick response by property manager to small detail when the coffee pot died. House is very spacious and sunny, nice backyard with table/chairs for relaxing, and quiet neighborhood. Would stay again.

Awesome stay with an amazing location

Our group had a great stay - the listing is accurate and the location is amazing! Close to all things in Carmel by the Sea. Communication with host was also great with regards to check-in/out. Would highly recommend for your trip!

Cute and Comfy Home in Great Location

We had a great time in Carmel and this house was cozy and welcoming after a day of exploring. Great location and close to beach, restaurants and shopping. June and Paul are great host and Rick the property manager responded quickly to text.

It was good to get the California sunshine and warmth in February, short walk to the beach and a well appointed home, made it very welcoming for the family.

Great for families

The location of this home is fantastic!! The house is set up perfectly for a family, our three children (under 8) LOVED the play room. Highly recommend for families.

In a word, location ! Our home is so close to the 2 beautiful carmel beaches. Imagine having to decide which one to walk to !!

For dinner the choice is even more difficult. A gentle 200 yards to the ex-mayor's Mission Ranch Hotel & Restaurant, or a short trip to Ocean Avenue for Carmel's very best restaurants. Our favorites there are Bicylette or Dametra, but Mission Ranch is so relaxing with its Piano Bar and there is freely available casual outside seating watching the sunset and the sheep !

Our home can sleep 8 comfortably. It's 1750 sq ft. You can make dining arrangements for 8 indoors or outdoors, in the back yard ! The living room also seats 8 for movie watching. All bedrooms have slumber-guarantee memory foam mattresses!
