This very private, romantic, ocean view and cliffside Mendocino cottage is a spacious split-level set as close to the ocean as possible so as to take full advantage of the dramatic setting. The soothing sounds of the ocean waves rolling in and crashing against the rocks below will make you feel like you are on your own private island.
This gem of a house has romantic, private, and truly million dollar expansive views of the ocean from every room. The view through the French doors is truly breathtaking. A wrought iron spiral staircase ascends to the upstairs oversized King bed. The fireplace also has an amazing view of the ocean. The night time sky reveals a starry sky unpolluted by city lights. The kitchen is fully functional with pots and pans, gas stove & oven, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. We also have an assortment of spices, but please feel free to bring whatever you need. We also have a washing machine and dryer for use.
This home is close driving distance to the village of Mendocino, Fort Bragg, Point Arena as well as the renowned Anderson Valley wine country.

This, one of a kind house is an ideal getaway for a honeymoon, anniversary, or that much needed and deserved time off. You will understand why guests call this home 'Desire' and why they all tell us they will be back next year!

Great location for a peaceful getaway

Serene Seaside Retreat

We recently stayed at this wonderful rental near Mendocino, and it was everything we hoped for. The view of the ocean was breathtaking, especially at sunset. The house had a cozy, rustic charm, with thoughtful details that made it feel both comfortable and unique. One of our favorite things was the sense of privacy; it felt like a true retreat. The house was peaceful and quiet, yet conveniently located, making it easy to explore the surroundings without any hassle. Very Nice Get-A-Way Location

We had a wonderful time! No issues with the property. Due to the staircase and stepdown shower, it isn't handicap friendly, but we navigated the property fine. It was a little closer to Highway 1 than I anticipated, so there was some traffic noise during the day time. Other than that, it was a beautiful place.

Relaxing and private

Beautiful inside. Definitely needs some work outside but owner said they are redoing deck this month (there was a broken board we had to navigate but not a big deal). Spiral staircase would be a no go for anyone unsteady but it worked for ys.

Location is great. Could be excellent except that there are several needed repairs, including grill, cabinet doors, windows, doors and walls.

Not quite as expected

View was great. Loft was cozy. Termites coming out from the French doors. Water was yellow. Not very clean. Deck needs serious attention. Front porch at the door in similar condition. Structure looks very run down and in need of some serious repairs and TLC. Not like the pictures posted. Sorry, but I needed to be honest.

Beautiful location, cozy house

We loved our stay at this house on the coast. Overall, the amenities worked well for us. The deck is a little unstable, so we just had to watch our step walking around the deck. But we enjoyed watching the waves and sunsets everyday from the deck chairs. Would definitely stay here again.

PERFECT GETAWAY

Mr husband and I stayed at Desire 5 nights for our 1st anniversary. The cabin was exactly as pictured and described. Host was very responsive and communicated every step of the way which was perfect for us as we have never used Vrbo before. My only concern was the unstable back deck, but i knew about it from previous reviews. We fell in love with the sounds of ocean, views and short drives to Mendocino & Fort Bragg!

Lovely weekend in Mendocino

We love this property in Albion. It's on a secluded bluff, only 15-20 minutes from Mendocino. Beautiful view of the ocean, great hot tub. The house itself is cozy and sweet if a bit rustic.

Superb overlook

This was the perfect post Mendocino Woodlands camp experience! It had a fantastic view of the coast from the porch. With a hot tub, and very comfortable bed, and a very convenient location for beaches and hiking, this was a superb place to stay.

Perfect coastal hideaway

My fiance and I couldn't have loved this house more than we did. Falling asleep to the sound of waves every night, waking up to seeing the gorgeous ocean right outside of our windows, the cozy hottub, awesome shower water pressure, yummy complementary bottle of Cava... I could go on and on. BOOK IT! :)

Perfect honeymoon

Easy to find with directions given. Great place for a couple to disconnect and enjoy each others company. Was planning on using the grill, but due to it sitting idle on the coast, it was too rusty and therefore did not feel like it was safe to cook on. I had to bring up a maintenence concern and the owner was very responsive. All in all, we would definitely come back. The view is incredible.

Stunning ocean view!

This place is perfect for a weekend getaway! The best thing about it is the stunning view of the ocean. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the waves, the sunset, and the stars at night. We also enjoyed the spacious loft. Our nights were warm and cozy up there! This is a lovely cabin, but it needs maintenance and repairs. The deck is a little unstable so you need to be careful when stepping outside. The wooden door and window frames also need attention. The elements are pretty harsh out there! We loved our stay and look forward to visiting again. The owner left a bottle of cava for us in the fridge, such a nice treat! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
