Tidewater Retreat was planned and renovated with your vacation in mind. The goal was to provide a place of retreat for families, friends, and couples to enjoy this unique island and each other! You will love the fresh coastal colors used throughout the cottage.
The property can be rented as separate units or all together. Pricing on this vrbo page is for one side of the duplex. See our other VRBO page for the second side #801957,
Tidewater Retreat offers top of the line kitchen appliances, quartz counter tops, new heating and AC, new floors, all new furniture. New memory foam mattresses, plush linens, Flat screen televisions in living area and queen bedroom. We have multiple usb outlets for charging phones, tablets or laptops. Each side has an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Each side has its own outdoor grillling area.
You cannot beat the location. You can walk to many restaurants, Crabtrap, Crab Daddy's, Boulevard Cafe, Beachcomber BBQ, Echo at the King and Prince. The beach is just a 5 minute stroll down a shady quiet street. There is a bike rental shop at Ocean Motion two blocks away.

Great Location

We loved being able to walk to nearby restaurants & the brewery, as well as the beach and King & Prince. It's a short drive south to the pier and north to Redfern Village areas (more restaurants). The owner was very responsive and helpful. Would stay there again!

Great Place for the Beach

Very nicely renovated and very close to the beach. Location is excellent and not a far walk to downtown St Simon’s and is even closer to several wonderful restaurants.

Great location, ideal space

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was great (maybe 8 min walk to the beach) around good food and shops. The place was the perfect size for our family (2 adults, 1 kid).

The Perfect Pair

We rented one side of this duplex and my hs bff who missed our senior beach trip and her family rented the other side so we could have our spring break 20 years later. It was the perfect set up for our party of 7 and we enjoyed sharing space and hanging out all together but separately. It was just

Cozy Base, Great Location

Perfect for first visit to St Simons

This unit was very nice for our first trip to St Simons. It is close to the beach as noted in the description and also walking distance to multiple restaurants (Fiddlers was our favorite). We had a short stay (3 nights), but this unit would work well for a longer stay. Unit was clean and well equipped. The owner went above and beyond when she shipped an item we left behind to us (we reimbursed the cost). This was much appreciated!

Comfortable Stay, Perfect Location

The location can’t be beat! Walk a few short blocks down Neptune street and you’re at the beach! The home itself was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. 5/5 - would go again!

Cute place and great location

We love st. Simmons and this little house did t disappoint. The house was nice and clean. Well setup and nicely decorated. It is on a main road but we were pleasantly surprised that in the house you couldn’t hear the traffic at all! Will definitely stay again.

Great Location, Cozy Cottage

LOVED this cottage! Located just a couple of blocks from the beach, close to The Crab Trap, easy access to shopping by the pier. Adorable inside, had everything we needed, even a couple of puzzles which were great for the evenings once we returned. Beds were really comfy (and I'm picky about those), AC worked like a charm for the unusually warm days we had in Feb. Melanie was quick to respond to messages. Had a wonderful stay! Would highly recommend and hope to stay there again next visit.

Cozy, clean and close to it all

Wonderful 2BR duplex/bungalow. Very well kept and clean. Tastefully decorated for the vibe at SSI and close to beach and restaurants. Win win. Highly recommend.

Perfect Beach Cottage!

We loved this cottage. My girls and I had a wonderful time and fell in love with this sweet place. The cottage has everything you need for a great vacation at the beach. The space is beautifully decorated and was super clean. Melanie was so helpful. We will definitely rent again!

We fell in love with St Simons in 2003. We owned another cottage and vacationed on St Simons for 7 years until we finally made St Simons our home. We saw this property for sale and had a vision of what it could be with some renovation. We lovingly and tediously planned each detail to be a place to vacation, retreat and make memories!

We chose this property because of the wonderful location. It is so close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. We also had seen this duplex for a long time and felt like it had such potential.

The unique benefits of Tidewater Retreat is that it offers so many options. If you are traveling with another family, it is nice to each have your own space but be together when you want to.
Its perfect for Grandparents that are coming along on vacations or even teenagers that want a little Independence but you are still under the same roof. Each side is available to be rented by itself.
