Dear Fuad – We’re very sorry to hear that your weekend was not as happy as you had anticipated. We were particularly surprised as the feedback form that you completed immediately after your stay gave the house all “As” and “Bs”, as well as the notes about the outdoor furniture. When asked “Would you stay at this house again? You circled “Yes” on your feedback form. All of our houses are professionally cleaned after each tenant. In the unit that you reserved; pollen was cleared off of the outdoor furniture the morning of your arrival to minimize the amount of pollen that might collect throughout the day. It is a constant challenge to keep all pollen off of all outdoor furniture at all times. A minor rip in a footstool in the basement was noted, but that rip did not render the footstool unusable. Your lease clearly states that renters should exercise care and caution during their stay. Specifically, on page 2, the last paragraph states that a hot tub at a rental property is not professionally maintained, but monitored weekly and a hot tub is to be used at the renter’s risk. Using a hot tub typically includes regulating the water temperature, washing your body carefully afterward to remove chemicals and limiting the time spent sitting in it. Skin irritations may come from high water temperature, prolonged usage and/or chemical remnants. You and your wife had conflicting accounts of who used the hot tub and the duration of each use. The reservation manager and the managing broker of the company received each of your calls, listened to your concerns and offered a rebate, which you did not accept.
