Lake Toxaway

We love staying at Karen and Keith’s home! It is accessible to so many of the amenities Lake Toxaway has to offer. The outdoor living area is outstanding! We loved eating dinner on the porch and watching the birds. The house is clean, stocked, and comfortable! We hope to be back soon!

Thank you for such a wonderful stay! We loved every minute of it! The house was clean, well stocked, and had so many great amenities! My kids had an absolute blast as well! They loved the ping pong table and bunk beds. We can’t thank Karen enough for sharing her beautiful home with us. Thank you!

Beautiful, large home in Lake Toxaway

The house was large and comfortably fit 8 adults traveling for a wedding. The house had all of the amenities and a great location to the lake. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars was the number of inch worms that were found everywhere throughout the house but particularly in the basement bedroom

Worn and tired

while the home itself could be really nice, the experience was disappointing. The Towels are worn and bleach stained. The mattresses were saggy and thin. The pillows were flat. There were old used slippers and muddy boots in the closet. The bath mats were dark brown and dingy. There was opened jam in the fridge as well as a jar of someone else's garlic. There was dog hair on the comforter. Two of the adults in the group left to go to a nearby hotel, knowing they wouldn't get any rest on those beds. With new towels, better sheets and new mattresses the home could be really nice. It is very spacious. The family room is comfortable and the dining table is good for groups. The driveway is not for the faint of heart but we got used to it. However, we cannot recommend this home. The owner did say she would have sent a cleaning crew, which was nice, but that wont get us crisp towels and new bedding, plus we were busy there for a wedding, so we didn't have time to deal with navigating phone calls. We just sucked it up, but wanted to let others know.

House was fine and we had a great time. The downstairs bedroom was a little disappointing. We could not find a coffee maker - only Kuereg (sp?) but we didn’t bring that kind of coffee and there were no Kuereg pods we could find. Thank you.

nice but needs serious updates

Nice overall home. Well stocked. Driveway extremely steep. Most people could not walk up. Needed a good and thorough cleaning as well as new bedding, towels and lamp shades. Numerous burnt out bulbs. House is quite dark inside and could use a big screen TV on the main floor and in bedrooms. Screen door needs work. Great location though with an incredible porch and gas fire pit. Lake Toxaway and mountains are stunning.

Nature at your Door

The best thing about this property is the back porch. Whether it rains or the sun shines, sitting on the back porch watching the birds and the bees was a welcome relief from urban chaos. Our trip was a get together of children, grandchildren, and even our Siberian Husky. And everyone had a great time hiking the nearby mountains and waterfalls, boating on Lake Toxaway, and playing in the game room downstairs. Good times that will be remembered by all!

Wonderful Home

We enjoyed our visit to Lake Toxaway. The accommodations and communication from the owner were excellent. The owners were very accommodating and responsive. The house is beautiful and everything you need for a wonderful vacation can be found at “Serenity”.

Family getaway

Wonderful family home. Well equipped for everything you need. Mainly stayed on deck outside around the gas fireplace. Rented a boat on Lake Glenville one day. Steep drive but once you get past that, great home.

Lovely home away from home

Plenty of room for our family of five and two dogs. Very well stocked in the kitchen, bathrooms, throughout the home. We enjoyed strolling along the golf course, lounging on the decks, movies in the family room and recharging with the fresh mountain air and sounds of nature. The driveway is steep otherwise the accommodations are perfect. We highly recommend.

Wonderful peace & quiet in a beautiful setting.

We spent a few days at this lovely Lake Toxaway house. We were so impressed with the location, peace & quiet & beautiful area with so many activities near by. Do as much or as little as you like. Hiking was really terrific, the kids could fish & the local restaurants are such fun. Enjoy!

Wonderful getaway

My daughter got married at Greystone Lodge and we stayed here. It was about a 5 minute drive from the Lodge. It was very peaceful. The driveway was scary the first time down, but after that, we had it mastered! Would highly recommend this property.
