Fabulous accommodation

We stayed at Mr Blue Sky for nine nights. It was fabulous. Lovely accommodation, everything you need for your stay. The only downside is the location. It’s quite a long walk from the town and it’s very hilly. It’s not suitable for anyone with mobility issues unless prepared to drive and try to park in the town or by the beach. St Ives is stunning and the beach is beautiful. We would book this accommodation again.

Great location

Great location for walk to beach and St Ives. Comfortable beds and living space. Large open plan living space. Difficult to heat with one storage heater. Did need a couple of layers and your slippers on a couple of evenings of our stay. Would probably visit again but in summer when weather warmer.

Points forts : Arrivée, emplacement et exactitude de l’annonce.
Points faibles : Communication
Bit if a delay getting in touch with the property manager when we had issues, and no urgency to fix. Folder stated fans should be available for use in the summer but none were at the property, and it took 4 days to get a single fan to the property. No Hoover or mop available for cleaning so tidying up was difficult. Salt grinder was also rusty and no good, quite unhygienic.

Hi Lucy, thank you for leaving your review. We’re sorry to hear that there was a delay in resolving the issues you raised during your stay. We apologise that it took a few days to arrange fans for the property; as these aren’t advertised, we needed to source them, but we’re pleased they are now in place. Your feedback has been shared with both the Owner and the Housekeeping team so we can review this further. We do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back again. Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team.

Perfect Weekend Retreat in St Ives

Lovely clean accommodation with an individual, quirky charm, we stayed with our 2 young daughters and my mum and her dog for my birthday weekend, perfect for all of us. Great facilities for kids with the mezzanine games area with Nintendo Wii and plenty of board games. Lovely comfy bed, the sunken one upstairs was a real treat with its attic feel. Great bathrooms and well stocked kitchen. The welcome pack of cream tea, Prosecco, juice, milk and biscuits was a lovely surprise touch. We will definitely stay again.

Review

A nice property. Querky design which appealed. Welcoming of our dog. Very clean and comfortable. One or two bits missing - hairdryer and bags for laundry. Code for rubbish bin didn't work.

Nice

Property was nice, could of been bit cleaner, found that there was a lot of hair under furniture and cobwebs in corners, bathroom was clean bedding was clean, but unfortunately I was physically unable to do much due to a medical condition I’ve just been diagnosed with and we had to return home,so we didn’t stay the whole week.

Best Accommodation So Far!!

Mr Blue Sky is by far the best accommodation we've stayed in, so far. The accommodation was exactly as described. The accommodation was spacious, clean and modern and the location was perfect. There are two bedroom's and an optional double sofa bed as part of the balcony room. Myself and my husband had the bedroom downstairs and my 20 year old daughter had upstairs to herself, which she loved. The accommodation was perfect for our dog and we loved that they had a stair gate, to stop the dog going upstairs. The accommodation is only 4 minutes walk to Porthmear beach and just 10 minutes walk to the town. St Ives was very pretty and picturesque, with a beautiful town and harbour and plenty of beaches. The accommodation and the location was perfect and we'd definitely stay there again.

One or two tweaks needed

It’s great that oven and dishwasher have been replaced recently but it would be good to have the new instruction booklets instead of old ones! The WiFi needs a booster so downstairs bedroom gets a signal, this is a real problem.

Hi Christopher, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and for your feedback which we have passed on to the owners. We are always happy to receive feedback, both positive and constructive and the owners have confirmed that, although they haven't received previous messages about the WiFi, they are more than happy to look into this and have ordered a WiFi extender to upgrade the network. They have also passed on their apologies that the user guides for the oven and dishwasher hadn't been updated in time for your stay. This too is now being rectified. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again one day. Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team

Customer Service not so luxury!

I was looking forward to my stay with luxury cottages! We had never been to St Ives during two Xmas and after all their CEO and founder Alistair Mullins states “ We are obsessed with customer service so are super-responsive, so much so it surprises guests. We don't have a call centre and every call is answered by one of the team in less than five rings or we'll immediately call you back. We're open at the weekends and are on hand 24/7 if there's an emergency.” This is so far from truth I reported the dishwasher was tripping the electrics on the first day of our visit, it was not fixed before we left but was fixed for the people renting after us for New Year. On contacting customer Service I did not get an instance response and had to chase. No-0 one seemed bothered by my personal situation just about fixing the dishwasher for the future! And although I was offered a discount off my next booking no-one grapes the fact that I paid for a luxury cottage and did not get one and when money’s tight it’s hard. All I was told that it was my prerogative to leave a poor review. So here it is!

Hi Chris, we are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience staying with us. I do have to point out that you may have us confused with another company because we are Luxury Coastal not Cottages. We have limited staff during the festive period and we did explain how sorry we were that we were not able to get the dishwasher fixed for you, we tried as hard as we could but it was not possible. You are free to express your views and we would not wish to stop you from doing so, we felt that we responded in a suitable manner and the offer of the return discount is still available to you, should you choose to use it. Best Wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team.
