This place was so tranquil and the views were amazing - both out to the sea and from the swimming pool looking back at the villa and beautiful hillside. The villa had everything that you could need and Rui was great at replying to my many questions really promptly. The marina was about a 10-15 minute walk down hill, I wasn’t overly keen on the nearest beach as it wasn’t very scenic due to all the man made concrete boulders etc to stop sea coming in. (But I hear there is a nicer beach a short drive away.) There were a few really nice restaurants and a local supermarket right next to a taxi rank, so it was always possible to get a taxi back up the steep hill for just 5 and all the locals were so friendly. Thank you for having us in your lovely luxurious villa!

Excellent location for a quiet laidback vacation. Within an hour of just about anywhere on the island. Great restaurants and market within minutes.

The house met expectations. Killer view. Correspondence with the property manager was mediocre at best. The pool was not heated when we got there and took five of the seven days to get to temperatures the booking said it would.

Due to the storm and particularly cold and bad weather during Amanda's stay, the pool temperature has been a few degrees less for the first few days. The client forgot to mention that they only paid pool heating for 2 days, despite the heat pump working overtime and still kept the water temperature at much warmer level than without any heating during the first few days. We have been very attentive to all Amanda's requests and wishes, which there were several, so I am unsure as to why the client thinks the correspondence has not been up to standard.

Perfect Vacation in Madeira

The property manager met us and explained how everything worked in the house. 2 stories, with all the amenities expected of such property. We paid the extra fees to heat the pool during our stay, which was totally worth it. Everything worked well. We walked into Calheta for dinner. Madeira is not a large island, so nothing was too far away from our house in terms of driving distance. Highly recommend!

Perfect location

This was the best stay I’ve had anywhere. The property is absolutely beautiful; placed right in a banana plantation with lots of privacy without taking away from the breathe taking views of the island. The location is very peaceful and quiet but you can walk 5-10 minutes down the road to the hotel that offers beach beds, rooftop bar and beach bar to the public. Grocery store is a 5 minute drive away too! If you wanted to do any of the levada hikes we found that the house was very centrally located to most of them! Check in and check out was very smooth and Rui was a pleasure to deal with and took care of everything we needed. Would love to come back and would recommend to anyone whose interested in visiting the island!

Amazing

The house is located within a large banana plantation, so it is very secluded, and the terraced property with pool is a feast for your eyes. The home itself is extremely well appointed, with anything one would need to start out on a Madeira. There is a grocery store, and the port city of Calheta, a two minute drive on the same road as the house. I cannot say enough of the house representitive Gabriel. He was such a joy to have, very full of info on the house and the island, showing us all the amenities, and giving great insight and recommendations. Thank you Rui for sharing your palace on the sea.

Calheta - Best View

This was our third trip to Madeira and we stayed in different houses. I can say with certainty that the location of the house here is unique. The house itself is simple, but equipped with everything. On the upper floor there are two rooms with sea views. The third and smaller room is located to the side. On the ground floor you have view of the pool and the sea. The path from the parking lot to the house is a bit narrow, steep stairs (but doable), banana palms on the left and right, roosters and chickens that greet you :-) Wonderful. The location is very quiet. Very nice pool with sea views. Large terrace, practically over the sea. Great view. What can I say, view, view, view and 100% RELAX!
