Oreo Shack - a beach house that sleeps 5 guests in 2 bedrooms

A beautiful beach house in a private location.

There's a kingsize bedroom, and a second bedroom with bunk beds and a pull-out truckle. Both rooms have an en-suite shower room. For more flexible sleeping arrangements there's also a travel cot, and the living room sofa can be converted into a bed. Towels, bed linen, and basic welcome pack are included. There is an open plan kitchen, dining and living space featuring a log burner, making it ideal for cosy winter breaks. There is driveway parking next to the house. Great for families – close to the indoor pool and the outside adventure playground.

Please note the driveway/path sleepers can be uneven and slippery when wet and therefore this property may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

A great start to Summer

This is our second stay at the Oreo Shack. It’s the perfect location for the play area, the leisure facilities and to access the beach. We love it here.

Best place ever

Fab stay

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a brilliant stay. The Oreo shack was spacious,light and very clean. Amenities like swimming pool,shop and bar were close to hand and the beach was a 5-10 minute walk away. Thanks to Paula and the team for a fantastic stay and can't wait to come back.

Filey Retreat

Had a fabulous week at the Oreo Shack. Brilliant location and brilliant weather. The accommodation was lovely and clean with everything we needed. Will be back !

Great for families

We’ve stayed at The Bay a couple of times before but we were really impressed with Oreo shack. It’s perfectly located by the playground so you can sit on the decking whilst they play. Unfortunately it was a bit too cold to sit out there for a drink when we stayed, but in the summer I’m sure it’s amazing.

June visit to Oreo Shack, the Bay, Filey

A very well equipped lodge for an amazing week's stay at the Oreo Shack. The location by the large grassy playground made it a very good traffic place to stay. This would make it ideal for a family with young children. As a single older person I found the location ideal for out of the school holidays,

Excellent family break

We enjoy staying here and intend to come back. The only thing letting it down was the pool now closes at lunch time. The queue for the pool can be ridiculous at times.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately we have no control over the pool opening hours which I believe are to allow staff a lunch break. I'm also aware the pool is very popular at times in the summer holidays but the previous booking system often meant people booked and never turned up which was a waste so its tricky finding the best solution in school hols.

Great little place for a long or short break, especially if you have young children as the location to the play area, shop, arcade, beach etc is fantastic. Customer service from Paula was second to none. Would definitely recommend!

A little gem

We had a 3 night stay at the Oreo shack and really loved it. It was so comfortable - beds / sofas and had all you need for a cosy coastal stay. Well positioned near all facilities and the beach path. Communication with and from Filey bay direct was excellent. Highly recommend

Fantastic for Families

Great location for the park, facilities and for the walk down to the beach. Super clean on arrival with everything you could need provided and even extras like beach gear too! More than enough games and dvds to entertain the kids on rainy days. Stayed here for 2 years now and will be back again! Love it!

A comfortable stay

Generally comfortable stay. The accommodate felt a little overpriced compared to other similar stays I have been on. There were a couple of issues in the unit but the agent responded quickly and helped as much as possible.

Just wonderful

Unlock the door and start your holiday! Everything you might possibly need is there. It's clean, comfy and perfectly placed - especially if you have children. The only thing we noticed was that the patio door needs a firm hand to lock it - but not to the point that it became an issue.

Fantastic place to stay.

We traveled 5 hours to the Oreo shack from the south of England and it did not disappoint, my husband and my 3 children we're over the moon with how well presented, clean and tidy the property was with a home from home coastal feel throughout. Directions and communication were on point, I did not need to require any more information as the emails were so clear on arrival and departure of the property, special thank you to Paula for this. I will definitely be recommending. Thank you.

Mini Break to the beach

We love the Bay, have stayed at a few accommodations in the bay. We love it by the park for the kids. Oreo was more tired than previous accommodations and also was not as clean. For example we had to wash quite a few of the pans and plates prior to using them and the showers had some stains / mould on them. This is for owner awareness - we still had a great time and will be back just would choose Mariners over this cabin

Sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay. We discussed the reasons afterwards and we could have helped if we'd known. We do provide deck chairs and folding chairs in the outside store for guests to use as well as the benches as I'm aware not everyone likes a bench seat. We have also appointed new cleaners as of 17 May.

A gem on the Yorkshire coast

Our third time at the Oreo shack, we’ve been twice this summer. The accommodation is stylish, immaculate and well equipped, the WiFi is excellent. We’ve always received a text on the day to let us know it’s ready early, which is a bonus. It’s ideally situated for accessing the pool and beach, which is the starting point for so many wonderful coastal walks. The grounds at The Bay are so well maintained and we like the open aspect of the Oreo Shack. It’s great to sit on the decking in the comfy camping chairs from the store room and the log burner is great indoors during colder months.

Brilliant last minute find!

We stumbled across this place on one of the larger booking sites. They were charging more, and not being that helpful. Got in touch with Filey Bay Direct, directly, and the booking process was simple and appreciated for our last minute holiday. The ‘Oreo Shack’ is lovely, ideally located if you have young ones as the park is directly outside (noisy though due to other little ones….), 2 minute walk to the pool and other facilities. Some minor cosmetic issues with parts such as the taps and woodwork in the bathrooms but nothing that would put us off staying again or recommending to others. Just the usual wear and tear once these units become a year or two old. The biggest issue was the heating, it took around 8 hours for the lodge to get comfortably warm after checking in. We were warned about it and allowed to check in early to switch the heating on but didn’t expect it to take that long, these types of places usually warm up quickly! Overall, lovely place, lovely location and we will definitely be looking to stay again in the future. Don’t hesitate, book it!
