Lovely cottage, great location

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely cottage! Very comfortable with great views. Excellent location, just a short walk to Windermere where there is a Booths supermarket and several bars and restaurants. The cottage is close to the railway station and bus stops. We would love to stay here again!

Ticked all my boxes in choosing a holiday cottage , comfortable, clean, well equipped, lovely grounds around cottage , good parking bonus of an abundance of wildlife great location , close to shops will happily return again

Superb Cottage

We have stayed at Orrest Head Cottage twice within a three month period. It is superb. A few minutes walk from the town centre, but feels rural as it borders fields and country walks. It has a large enclosed parking area and the cottage itself has all the amenities you could ask for. Highly recommended!

A great stay

We had a great break at the cottage and will definitely be back. The cottage itself was well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. Location was amazing, it felt like you were in the countryside but with only a 10 minute to the town. Definitely worth a visit

A faultless property

We had a wonderful weekend at Orrest Head House and Cottage. The properties were really well appointed, clean, comfortable and the management was excellent. We were well informed about what to expect which enabled us to plan an easy stay. There was plenty of space inside and outside and the location was perfect. None of our guests had a bad word to say.

Location

The location is great for access to the town of Windermere....10 minute stroll. The house and cottage are great for large parties and provide all facilities required.

Family break

This was the 3rd time I have stayed here and it never disappoints. The location is perfect for local shops and transport links to other locations in and around the Lake District. Very enjoyable stay.

A beautiful stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our week away at Orrest Head. We had friends staying in Orrest Head House and found both properties to be beautiful. Extremely comfortable and in a perfect location. Everything about Orrest Head Cottage was perfect and we would definitely return!

Fabulous location

Very nice and clean property in a great location. Easy to find and just a short walk to everything Windermere has to offer. Dogs had a great stay and loved all the walks Owner was lovely, and incredibly polite, she very kindly contacted us to let us know we had left a bag ‍♀️

Thanks for the review Glen, I'm a little surprised by the condition being 3 out of 5 we have only just had a makeover - including a totally new lounge. In any holiday home, there are always little jobs that need attending to but we do try keep on top of things. If you drop us a note as to what needed attention we'll get onto it. Fantastic Cottage in a stunning location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at a spotlessly clean, comfortable and peaceful cottage which was well equipped with everything we needed. It is in a great location with stunning views and shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. We had lovely walks to Orrest Head which is just behind the cottage and trips by car to other attractions in the Lakes. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Lovely house...

Lovely house, great experience from Liz the manager who was very helpful too. We had a wonderful stay at this house rental. The home was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was excellent and quiet, and the house matched the description perfectly. The host was friendly, responsive, and made check-in and communication very easy. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to others. This was the 2nd time booking, love the location too. Thank you

Highly recommended.

Our first time at the cottage and we loved it, so much we’ve already booked again. Nice size for 4 adults, baby grandson and dog, very comfortable and clean. Good location minutes walk to the village but private garden with parking. Highly recommended.

Four night stay at Orrest Head Cottage

Great place to stay. Four adults and one child. Great to have two bathrooms. Lovely lounge. Great kitchen and dining table and well resourced; we would have found a dishwasher useful , but hey ho. Easy to walk down into Windermere for a bite to eat etc. and on a bus route too. Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely book again.

A lovely stay with friends

We had a really nice stay at Orrest head cottage, the location was really good, the only downside was trying to get out with the car, due to having 2 blind corners & a very busy road. The cottage had everything we needed, a dishwasher would definitely have come in handy.

Lovely cottage in great location

Great Cottage, well maintained 2 mins walk from Windermere shops etc and next to a lovely walk up to the viewing point of Orrest Head. Only improvements I would recommend are sharper knives, blankets downstairs and allow access to the private garden area immediately adjacent to the cottage or add some planting/pots to the area surrounding the cottage.

Excellent value for money in a perfect location, will definitely be back!

We had such a great stay in Windermere at Orrest Head Cottage. The location is a couple of minutes' walk from Windermere itself, and a short drive (or local bus) from neighbouring towns. It had plenty of space for us and is a rare find having 3 large bedrooms in one property. We walked each morning up the Orrest Head trail which was perfect for our dogs. The walk up was about 20 minutes and a nice walk.
