The Negaunee property was amazing...Larry and Marie made the stay so welcoming and perfect, inside and out. The rental was furnished and stocked...they thought of every detail. Check-in and checkout were smooth and easy. And the grounds and surrounding Goose Lake area had spectacular colors (Oct rental).

Larry and Marie were fantastic hosts! Property was as advertised and so much better than what the hotels in the area were going for. We really enjoyed getting to know you guys and enjoying the beautiful weather Saturday night. Definitely recommend and hopefully we’ll get back soon to visit! Having Mark stay with us (more than once now) is always a pleasure. He enjoys the outdoor activities that surround us on daily adventures and gets to come back to enjoy the solitude of still being in the woods. We very much hope he chooses to stay with us again.

Hosts were very responsive to questions I had prior to booking, they were very accommodating and the space was perfect and well appointed! I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a place that is close to Marquette but outside the noise and hubbub of the city. The review is requiring me to rate the skiing experience here, but we came for the dog sled race so I am rating that instead since VRBO doesn’t realize we don’t all come to the area for the same reason.

Peaceful getaway

We come up to the U.P. to getaway and Larry and Marie’s home was perfect for that. Close enough to Marquette for restaurants and things to do, but it was nice to have a place away from everything to escape. The bed was amazingly comfortable and truly felt like a home away from home.

Great secluded Vrbo in the UP!

We had a great stay at the rental! There were a total of four adults. The hosts were communicative and just great people, the rental was clean and cozy, and it just added to an awesome weekend in the Michigan UP!

Nice home in the country

We stayed here as our base camp to explore the Marquette area. The hosts were so kind. The basement is very well laid out with ample room to spread out.

Great Cycling Retreat

Cozy and inviting property right between the RAMBA and Marquette trail systems (15min from either location). Larry and Marie were friendly and very accommodating to meet the needs of our stay, offering us a garage stall to secure our bikes and a hose spigot to wash them post ride. DOG was super friendly and our kids loved interacting with him. We would definitely stay again should we revisit the area.

We enjoyed having a family visit us! They were heavily into biking and we have some pretty terrific trails around us for all ages groups. It sure was great seeing a family enjoying the great U.P.! This family was very nice and VERY clean! We do hope they chose to stay with us again if they ever come back to visit the U.P., as they are very welcome to. Even our dog enjoyed their stay, and the treats!!! :)

UP Bucket List Trip - Achievement Made

What a lovely place and such nice people. Everything was exactly what we needed for our jumping off place to day trip all over the UP. We knew that every night we would be coming home to a big comfy bed and every morning we had the full use of a lovely fully stocked with equipment, kitchen. And thank D.O.G. they were ever so helpful while we were there.

The perfect pit stop on our way to Houghton!

The home was clean, organized, and easy to locate with Larry’s directions! We used it as a place to crash each night after driving to Houghton and back. Wish we could’ve spent more time at the property, though! Lots to do there. The dart board in particular is one thing we wish we’d had some time to use! Their decorations are also really cool!

Time in Negaunee

This spacious unit is well thought out and very well maintained. It's a little bit out of Marquette but just as advertised in a pretty area. Hosts are very nice and very responsive. Excellent WiFi. Kitchen is large and unusually well equipped (except no dishwasher). Nice place to relax and enjoy the Upper Peninsula.

Convenient Location to Marquette and area

Overall, my family and I enjoyed our stay in Negaunee. Our hosts, Larry and Marie, were extremely hospitable and provided helpful information for the surrounding area. We discovered 2 great places to eat from their recommendations. The location is outside of town, however, this was not a negative. The interconnecting roads provided easy access. The cudighi at The Congress Bar was worth the trip. The downstairs suite was clean and comfortable. Larry and Marie are very respectful of your privacy. Since you are downstairs, you can still hear walking, etc.. as can be expected. Curtains above the beds would help with added privacy to the bedrooms. I would not hesitate to book another stay here.

Marie and Larry are wonderful hosts!! Within minutes, they made us feel right at home. Their accents were music to this Yooper’s heart! Don’t even think twice if this place is available for your stay!

We built our home in 2003/2004 - It has all the amenities on both floors, therefore we are renting out our lower level as we do not use it often. The lower level has two bedrooms having a king and queen size bed, an open floor plan with bar / living space and a full bathroom. A kitchen is off the bar area. This is a walk-out "basement" along with a man door to the garage for other access. The lower level is 1680 sq. feet. We also have a queen-size air mattress to accommodate two more guests if needed.

We love our home, we have all the privacy we need yet are only 12 miles from Marquette, MI. We are surrounded by trees and have nature trails from the back yard. We have all the living amenities of being at "camp" but it is our home. We have a lot of visitors and they all say that they love our place and we should rent it out so others can enjoy it.

Peace and quite, watch birds, go for hikes from back yard, close to Negaunee or Marquette, bonfire in back yard, star gazing, games can be played in yard, no traffic.
