Family Visit

Went to visit family in Brownsville and loved getting to stay in a beautiful place so close to the beach and access to awesome pool. Kids loved it.

Loved everything about the Shores and the cottage! One of the best places I have stayed at SPI and I have been coming here for over 40 years!

Wonderful accommodations

My friend had never been to SPI so I wanted to rent a little cottage by the beach to enhance the experience. I selected the Coastal Cottage. It was so nice and quiet. Everything was clean and orderly. We will are already planning another trip next year.

Love this location

Excellent property. Everything was as advertised. Both beds were comfortable, did not try the pull out couch. Would have preferred not to be next to the construction house, but they were really quiet and the house was pretty soundproof. The management was prompt when we had a question. Neighborhood was really quiet and very well maintained. Will definitely stay again on returning trips.

Awesome place.

The place is nice just one complaint. The dryer did not work and the maint. personal said it was the board and that he was going to call it in and left. So, we where with out a dryer during the stay. We had to go to laundry place in town. We did not hear back from anybody.

What a great place and a great location!

We used this house as our homebase with our travels in that area. Boca Chica is nearby, as is Brownsville (and points south) and many other little towns. The house is lovely. Well appointed and maintained. Easy to find. North of the noisy areas. Didn't get a chance to take a dip in the pool (was too chilly that week). Franke Rentals was easygoing and ready to help!

We attended an event at the Namar which is literally right next door. Everything about the home was perfect!! Location provides for privacy and is so serene. Loved it!

Great location

Pretty cottage with more space than expected. Loved the porch and small pool perfect for our 6-year old to play in at the end of busy days. Great location and easily accessible.

Loved This Place!

This is a very nice rental! It looked just like the pictures on VRBO and was very clean. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable! We loved the Shores and can’t wait to see it when it is all finished. Thank you!

Some issues

Overall the property was very nice. It was great to have our own swimming pool and it looked just like the photos. Had a problem with the key upon check-in. When I called Kevin, the manager, he made me feel like I did not know how to use a key. He said they were going to send someone out but no one ever showed that night. After calling a second time because the AC stopped working and the key (surprise, surprise) still did not work in the door. The second day of our vacation involved dealing with some one who came out and also could not get the keys to work. Then we had the AC repair guy in and out of the rental to fix it, all why trying to get a toddler to nap (we had no such luck). Every time we laid her down there was another knock at the door. Finally, after a different person came to look at the keys and lock we had one door that we could lock. My husband actually spent a portion of this day helping the AC because we needed it to work and did not want to waste anymore of our vacation. He rigged it so it would work but I fear for future renters. It’s also sounded like a jet plane taking off next to one of the bedrooms that was near the unit. Sleep was hard to come by on this trip. I am so disappointed because we wanted a quiet getaway but ended up dealing with contractors and maintenance people. I feel like at this price point of a rental it was not worth it. Also, don’t count on using the grill, so rusted we had to cook inside.

South Padre visit

The coastal cottage was very nice. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. We loved the neighborhood and being able to watch the sunset every night. And right across the road was the beach. We fished in the canal a couple times which was very fun. Only caught one fish.

Covid year

I researched because I wanted to be isolated but avoid winter. I loved my cottage! To improve I suggest a box for outside cushions. Huge winds blew furniture and cushions in pool. Loved sunsets over the bay that I could see from my front steps. Also my beach walks on the ocean across the street.

Beautiful and Relaxing

We had a wonderful time. Our check in was delayed a bit as the cleaning crew wanted to ensure the cottage was clean. A few minor things needed to be fixed but over all the cottage was in great condition. A beautiful place just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We would stay again and would recommend this cottage to everyone!

Great Cottage

We spent 2 months at the costal cottage. The cottage is well furnished and the kitchen had the utensils that we needed. Franke Realty responded quickly to all requests and any problems that arose. We enjoyed the quick 5 minute walk from the cottage to the beach. A car is necessary if you are going to restaurants and bars. You should be aware that there is a fair amount of new construction going on in the development. The pictures on the website accurately represent the cottage.

Close to the beach, clean, comfy fun!

Family getaway to the beach and couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. Very clean and comfortable, 5 minutes walk to the beach, close to town (but not too close). Wonderful experience, and a pool onsite!
