Tony Thank you for your stay over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We are very pleased that your family enjoyed your time together at OIB CHILLIN'2 we take great pride of both our properties on OIB and work to keep them clean and well maintained. As much I would like to, I can not take credit for the wonder weather you had that weekend. Since purchasing OIB CHILLIN'2 in March of 2018 we have installed the 18 X 36 sports pool(The largest oceanfront pool on OIB), New HD smart TV's in all bedrooms with a 4K TV in living room, we added new Stoves, Refrigerators and Microwaves. As we had discussed prior to your stay we were starting a demolition and remodel project of the complete interior the day of your departure that will be completed February 2021. This remodel includes new LPV flooring, new cabinets and countertops in kitchen, pantry with coffee/microwave station, all bathrooms with new vanities and tops, new toilets and showers with doors. All the dated popcorn ceiling is being removed. All bedrooms will have new bedroom furniture with new mattress and foundations. Tim Thank you for your review and recognizing the great oceanfront location along with the awesomeness of the largest private oceanfront pool on the island. Yes we did make sure we had plenty of table/chairs and lounge chairs at the focal point of most beach vacations the pool and deck overlooking the ocean. We are sorry if you felt the 6 bathrooms for 24 people were only doable as the majority of our multiyear repeat guest that visit with 30 to 40 guest recognize our property as an excellent value for this number of guest. We do also understand we are not a good match for some that may be looking for the newer homes with in suite bathrooms that supply towels and sometimes made beds that rent for 15,000 to 20,000 dollars more per week than our property does. For the majority our property is the perfect balance of amenities verses price which is why all our guest from mid May through mid July this year are returning for 2026 and our guest from 2024 picked up your 2025 week to return for 2026. Abagaile Thank you for your review and we are glad we were able to work out your stay to return to OIB from your cancelled July 2020 vacation due to COVID since you did not wish to travel although all travel restrictions to North Carolina had been removed at that time. We honored the same 2020 rate even though we had a price increase for 2021 due to full remodel of OIB CHILLIN'2, We are pleased you found he location and remodel a positive but since we added the pool heater in April of this year a year and half after your original booking date I am not sure how this was misleading to you. We wished you had reached out to us on all the cons you mentions since we were in contact almost every day checking on your stay. We do supply gas tanks for the 2 gas grills and as mentioned in your signed rental agreement guest are responsible for change out of tanks if gas runs out. Guest always have the ability to adjust temps on a/c as needed at anytime and our web based records never show the temps in the house reaching 75 degrees during your stay and with ceiling fans in all bedrooms and 68 degrees at night should be very comfortable. If you had wished to leave windows open that would not have been an issue, but windows and doors open with A/C running will not happen. wooden decks and board walks that are sun and salt exposed will weather and the occasional splinter can happen and nails will work there way up as the wood swells in the rain then contracts as it dries, a quick call could have fixed that issue as would have the wifi. As with the majority of large properties that are on the island, beds are customary not made on arrival and some even rentals have guest supply linens themselves. We have trash cans in every bathroom which are connected to bedrooms, but we will look into cans in every bedroom. We are unable to comment on this review at this time since this guest informed us they had an attorney on retainer within an week of departure. We have rented this property to over 150 different groups and families since 2018. We Installed the largest private home oceanfront commercial pool in 2019 and updated with a full gut and remodel this past winter. We own 2 other properties on OIB, one since 2008 and feel free to see our excellent reviews at VRBO #303854 and #2361861 also. Rent with confidence based on our 13 years of ownership. We have 3500 plus rental days, over 9500 different guest served of which many are multiple repeat visitors to our properties. We have no need to keep anyone's deposit unless there is reason and luckily it rarely has had to happen.
