Maison au bord de l'eau (sur l'île Sugar) avec ponton de mai à septembre!

Cette maison au bord de l'eau est parfaite pour votre "Up North Retreat". Non seulement il vient avec un bateau ponton pour votre usage, c'est une maison de trois chambres à trois niveaux avec beaucoup d'espace de vie et une grande zone de foyer.
Situé sur le côté nord-est de Sugar Island, sur la rue St. Rivière Mary (près de l'embouchure du lac George). Cette maison est au milieu d'autres propriétés connues comme "The Sugar Suite" (mêmes propriétaires et cette liste est VRBO # 475245) et The Nest. Chacune de ces propriétés est à 2 maisons (environ 250 pieds), donc un hébergement parfait pour un grand groupe!
Voulez-vous apporter votre bateau? Tu es plus que bienvenue! En fait, il y a une rampe de mise à l'eau DNR à environ un mile de cet endroit, donc le mettre à l'eau une fois arrivé à Island House ne sera pas un problème et nous avons de la place pour garer votre remorque! Si vous prévoyez d'utiliser le bateau ponton (détient 1000 lb) entre mai et septembre, veuillez apporter des gilets de sauvetage (tous les enfants de 12 ans et moins doivent porter leur gilet de sauvetage en tout temps - règlement de la Garde côtière américaine). Nous nous assurons que le bateau ponton est plein de gaz pour votre arrivée, et bien que nous puissions vous aider à obtenir plus de gaz si nécessaire, nous préférons que vous le remplissiez à nouveau avant votre départ. Je vous remercie!
Nous fournirons tous les draps, mais attendez-vous à ce que vous apportiez vos propres produits en papier.
Si vous possédez votre permis de pêche du Michigan, vous pouvez non seulement utiliser votre propre bateau ou le bateau ponton pour pêcher, mais vous avez également la possibilité de réserver un voyage de pêche charter à seulement 1 quai (Blue Heron Fishing Charter). Faites-nous savoir si vous êtes intéressé et nous vous aiderons à réserver votre voyage avec le capitaine à côté.
Nous avons un tuyau pour votre utilisation, donc si vous avez votre propre station de nettoyage de poisson, apportez-le et vous pouvez vous y connecter!

Great place to hide away

The views are beautiful, the house is very comfortable. My group of friends had a great time hanging out and fishing on and off the boat.

We do share in our welcome information the suggested items to bring so guests can be fully prepared. Regarding the issue with the Pontoon Boat shutting off, we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Unfortunately, we later discovered that previous guests had put water in the gas tank, which caused the unexpected problem. We have addressed this so it will not be an issue moving forward. And, that is a reason we do not charge extra for the boat - in case we have any unexpected issues. We are glad you were still able to enjoy your time, and we hope to welcome you back again!

A fun stay

It was a great getaway for the family. The pontoon was a great option to have. The out side of the property could use some up keep and the cleanness of the inside could be improved. But it is a nice property and nice location. We really enjoyed it! Great communication with the property owners! Would stay again for sure!

Great Vacation Home

My family and I stayed at the "Sugar Island House" for 5 nights. This was the most relaxing house we ever stayed in on Sugar Island. We had everything that we needed in the house and the fishing was good all week. Laurie and Scott were great hosts and were very easy to get ahold of. Looking forward to returning to this rental sometime next year.

Inside updating was good The back porch smelled like mold/dirty Outside of the house needs work. Thought it was a little overpriced for the amount t of clean up we needed to do before leaving.

Fishing trip

Had a wonderful vacation with husband, mother-in-law, son & daughter-in-law. House was perfect, clean, comfortable, spacious and exactly, as advertised. Many mishaps that were out of owners control; however communication with owners was excellent. Owners went above and beyond to help mitigate issues as they arose.

A perfect setup for a couple families!

The house worked out really well for a couple families staying for two nights for a youth hockey tournament in the Soo. Laurie was quick to respond to the couple questions we had and everything went very smoothly. Kitchen space was large and open and great to entertain! The inside of the home was clean and appeared to be recently remodeled. Very happy with our weekend on the island!

Great place with a boat on Sugar Island

We loved our stay in the Sugar Island house! I only have two recommendations to make it even better. 1. Supply a gas can to refill the boat with gas. 2. Include a list of directions for lighting the grill and using the coffee maker since they are both a bit tricky.

My husband and I have debated about this before and because of the fact that there isn’t a gas station close, we thought knowing you need regular gas before coming onto the Island might encourage folks to grab some before they get to the house. However, I see your point. And! Great suggestions about directions for lighting the grill and using the coffee maker... Thank You so much! We want everyone to have an enjoyable stay, so this is great feedback! :)

Relax and kick back on Sugar Island

We returned to this Sugar Island split-level home for an enjoyable family vacation. Our family enjoyed the pontoon and fished everyday. The large picture windows were wonderful for taking in the view of the St. Mary's River and birdwatch. The modern kitchen and large living spaces made for comfortable living, even on the occasional rainy days. Thank you Morleys for answering any questions and needs that we had.

Looks better in the pictures

The house is remote, could use some updating and a thorough carpet cleaning! The weather was rainy and there was not much to do, although we did take a fun ride in the pontoon boat. The kitchen and dining area are lovely, the rest of the house just needs work. We ended up leaving after one night though we booked for two, largely due to the weather.

We are so sorry that you had poor weather during your stay and that you left early because of that and the remoteness... Believe it or not, we had the carpets professionally cleaned before the summer season. However, because we agree that the light color doesn't seem to be a good fit, we are planning to replace the carpet with the same flooring as we have in the kitchen and using area rugs (that can be replaced when needed much more easily). This is planned for Winter 2019. We are so glad you liked the kitchen, dining room and pontoon boat!

Nice place for family

Very nice house. Basement living room comfortable. Kitchen nice to cook in. Good view in dining room to eat. Boat got us around and was not top bad. My kids liked jumping off the dock and swimming back. Suitable for ages 6+ for sure on the water. You can walk up to the dock about 5 feet from shore so it's not a complete drop off. Wear water shoes as some rocks sharp.

Relaxing getaway

Relaxing, slower pace vacation. Met some real nice people on sugar island. The pow pow was beautiful and welcoming. The grills need cleaning. We just used our equipment on the fire pit. Someone with mobility issues could have difficulty with stairs accessing house. The view is amazing and enjoyed morning tea on the deck. Finally figured out what bird was calling in the neighborhood, white throated sparrow.

Darlene, We are so glad you enjoyed the views! Yes! Being a true-level home does not make this a very good place for anyone with mobility issues! Our hope is that folks that use the grill clean them afterwards. But, we do usually check them before new guests - so I am very sorry that it sounds like it was missed. Thanks for staying!

Both from the Eastern Upper Peninsula, my husband is an "Islander" born and raised and this is the house he grew up in and his father built!
We truly love the beauty this area has to offer and of course, being on the water is an added bonus!

This is our favorite place to be in the summer and that's why we want to share it with others!
We also own the Sugar Suite (2 houses down, #475245), which was built by his grandfather!
To say we will always be connected to the North East side of Sugar Island is a very true statement! :)

The Pontoon! WE offer the use of a pontoon boat (not anything fancy, but nonetheless, a boat with a new motor!) with our rentals! It's included in your stay, we just ask that you either pay us for gas, or fill it up before you leave (it will have a full tank when you arrive).
