Récemment rénové avec goût 2 chambres 1 salle de bain cabine 200 pieds en face du lac et à seulement 500 pieds de hauteur Marina Location de bateaux (pré-réserver à l'avance) Comprend 2 kayaks et 2 vélos avec location et beaucoup de jeux. 3 téléviseurs (2/55 pouces) avec cùble complet. Convient à 6 personnes, mais serré, mais sans frais supplémentaires pour les personnes supplémentaires. Convient à 4 confortablement. Plus de 3 jours comprennent une bouteille de vin gratuite. Vue sur le lac depuis le porche intérieur avec foyer au gaz. Beaucoup de stationnement pour tous vos jouets.

Disappointing

Upon arriving, we were somewhat taken aback by the foot high weeds and the UN-mowed grass on the property. The inside was tidy, only one tray for ice cubes in the freezer and the place reeked of “air-wick solid” room scent, for which I immediately felt a headache coming on. The wooden cutting board was questionably sanitary with many black (mold?) knife marks, a NOT NEW sponge for dish washing, (a brand new dishwashing sponge should be provided for every new guest as sponges harbor bacteria!), and there were no reading lamps in the living room or bedrooms,
just harsh fluorescent LED lightbulbs in ceiling mounted wire fixtures. The window air conditioner was adequate for the kitchen/living room area, but not the master bedroom; I placed the floor fan provided (which was covered with dust), on a closet shelf, but the oscillation feature did not work. Access to Houghton Lake was somewhat misleading as it was a 6’ patch of sand on the shore designed more for launching kayaks, over sitting and enjoying the lake view. The only place to sit outdoors was a table and 4 outdoor chairs (which had abundant bird droppings on them), in the “backyard” overlooking the weeds, the garage door, and perhaps a sliver of the lake between cottages across the street. All in all it was disappointing, a bit “seedy,” and we left early. ‘Guess this was a lesson in “you get what you pay for.”

Relaxing easy to get to

I went up with my best friend to attend a wedding on a different lake in a nearby town. The location of this cottage made it easy for us to get to and from the wedding. While the cottage has lake access, it’s not any type of beach front but you can load kayaks easily. However the ease to find a public beach is easy enough. There is plenty of parking for more than one car. The neighborhood is quiet and restful. The cottage itself was very clean and put together and had everything we needed for our trip. The host have been kind and gracious. I’d us it again.

Ideal Location

Comfortable beds, a full kitchen, grill, bicycles, kayaks, ample parking, TVs in every room, laundry, and a full bathroom; all for an amazing price.We stayed three nights and cooked the majority of our meals at the cottage. Our family enjoyed the proximity to the local attractions and beaches. Everyone was comfortable and had a very relaxing vacation.

Very cute little place

Overall was a very nice little place. The bunk beds were adorable. I would however, recommend having more hand towels in the kitchen available to make dishwashing a little easier, but this is more a suggestion not a complaint.

Great place on the lake!

The cabin was perfectly clean and comfortable. We were there for a wedding so we did not get to use the kayaks but walked over to the lake and it was a beautiful view! Communication with the hosts was excellent!

Just what we needed when family had no more space!

We were able to spend time with family who live nearby on the lake and yet have our own space. It was clean, convenient & so cute! We will definitely rent again!

Golf getaway

I was in Houghton Lake for a golf tournament. Stayed at the property for 3 days. Perfect for me and would be good for a small family also. Very good communication from owners with all the information.
