Yes, what happened is that Summit County passed a new (temporary) Covid-19 public health regulation on Nov. 20 restricting all bookings to guests from "ONE household" only. Some guests were ALREADY driving or flying to Colorado at the time the regulation was announced. So we had to scramble furiously to avoid having guests show up (from two or more households and find out that their booking was suddenly "illegal" (through no fault of their own). A group in another unit had two families and were staying from Nov. 21-28. The only way we could save the booking for them was to SPLIT their two families between two units (one household per unit). The Liftside 2BR unit Carl (the reviewer) had booked was open starting 11/21. So we put one couple in that unit and gave Carl's family a FREE upgrade to a larger 3BR/3 Bath right across the hall (which was only open starting 11/22 and would not have worked for the other group who showed up on 11/21). In short, we avoided ruining the larger group's trip (all the way from Florida) and also provided Carl with a larger unit with two living rooms and a full-size pool table. We charge a lot more for the 3BR unit so this was clearly an UPGRADE. We were so overwhelmed with trying to accommodate arriving guests who had no way of knowing about the county's last minute regulation that there was no time to advise Carl of the switch. But really this is akin to getting a free upgrade to First Class on a flight, so advance notice of a windfall is probably not so important under the circumstances. Especially when we were overwhelmed with giving away free "overflow" units to help other (multi-household) guests salvage their ski trip.

Yes, about once every 15-20 years the elevator needs to be replaced, which is a significant nuisance for guests. It was unfortunate it coincided with several guests' stays, but this is the kind of inconvenience that won't occur again for a very long time.
