My dogs would rate this place a TEN bc of the yard.
Positives: the house is centrally located to town and the Biltmore. There is a trail head connector just a few hundred feet from the house that connects quickly to the Mountain to Sea trail, the longest trail in NC. Lovely hike!
Negatives: the view in the photographs is WINTER ONLY. I had visions of sitting on the deck sipping wine gazing at the mountains. NO. Heavy woods only. The living room faces the front of the house so the resting view is of the road and the neighbor's very loud truck going back and forth. The neighborhood is hipster scruffy, no offense to hipsters. Next door neighbors were nice but their back yard is a junkyard with uncut grass and the front yard is where they hang their laundry. Road noise from the Blue Ridge Parkway is louder than expected. The Internet is slow. The guest bedroom bed squeaked so badly my friend had to sleep on a twin bed in the third bedroom. Kitchen cooking gear (pots, pans, etc) was so old as to be gross. Kitchen ventilation while cooking does not work and I almost cut off my fingers opening the window over the sink bc it is broken and doesn't stay open. Sheets were old and mismatched, towels old. I could go on. I don't get all the rave reviews- I guess different standards for different folks. We left a day early and stayed in a hotel. I gave it 3 stars bc of the location, the yard for our dogs and the price per night, also the host was nice,
