Guest quarts trois miles de Freeport

Les logements des invités sont construits dans un sous-sol à la lumiÚre du jour, avec des sols carrelés et de nombreuses touches de pin. Il y a une chambre queen, un grand salon et une salle de bain complÚte. Les quartiers sont privés du reste de la maison occupée par le propriétaire et il y a une entrée privée (saisonniÚre). Ceci est le cÎté "boisé" d'une maison qui repose sur 8. 5 acres boisés à quelques miles de Freeport, Maine. Beaucoup d'oiseaux et beaucoup de nature. Il n'y a pas de cuisine, mais il y a une cafetiÚre et un petit réfrigérateur.

Wifi sécurisé gratuit. Nous avons un groupe électrogÚne de secours pour toute la maison et une grosse souffleuse à neige pour la sécurité en hiver. D'ici cet été, il y aura des places à l'extérieur prÚs de la porte. En plus du lit queen, nous avons un Pac 'n Play disponible pour un bébé et un lit simple escamotable pour un enfant plus ùgé.

L'accÚs est limité aux quartiers des invités et à la cour en été. En hiver, l'accÚs aux quartiers se fait par la maison principale.

Super clean, we were able to go in a few minutes early no problem! Very comfortable bed, with extra blankets as well! We stayed here the night before and the night of our wedding and it was exactly what we needed.

These guest quarters had everything we needed for a peaceful, relaxing “home base” while we explored the beautiful area. The space was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. Loved the woodwork and artwork throughout as it gave the space such a warm, inviting feel. The host’s guidebook was full of thoughtful, local recommendations. We especially liked Doherty’s North Freeport Store just down the road, the owner was a lot of fun to chat with and the food was great. Maine Beer Company was also a favorite of ours. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation!

Quiet and Relaxing

Larger place than I envisioned -- comfortable and relaxing. Nice outdoor space with plants. Be careful on GPS as it is close to Freeport (4.5miles) but sometimes wants to take the long way.

A comfy spot in the woods

We enjoyed our stay, close to Freeport, with easy access to major routes. The lodging is well appointed in good taste, but with limited views to the outside. This was not problematic as we stayed only two nights. Useful information for travellers; bring your own body wash/soap, plus diswashing detergent and sponge so that you can wash your mugs and the glasses provided in the bathroom sink. A second, more practically designed sink would be nicer to complement the kitchen facilities. We were overall very happy with our stay. Although it would have been nice to meet our hosts, we appreciated the information they provided in the welcome booklet.

Very woodsy, long crushed rock path to entry

My VRBO reservation went flawlessly, but when it came to receive entry code instructions, apparently it got mixed up in a previous email account that I used years ago when renting my owned property in Florida. I had deleted that email years ago! I received one email on my current account stating "here are the keys to your rental", but when I went to my VRBO app I was unable to access any more information. The agent I spoke to tried to be helpful, but I had deleted the old email, and still was unable to get the information, So I went to the property in the dark rainy night, rang the doorbell and was not able rouse anyone, walked the dark path (it did have motion sensor lights along the way) So I had to make alternate plans for the first night. I returned in the morning and met with the host Wayne who was very welcoming, honored my reservation, gave me the key to the guest quarters and I had a very comfortable stay for the second night. Wayne was very generous and had refunded my fee for the first night. The guest quarters were very nicely laid out and immaculately clean and comfortable.

An Enjoyable Stay

Everything was as advertised. The unit was both comfy and cozy. It was clean and manageable. The one thing to consider, and this is not at all a negative. The location of the guest quarters is around the back of the building at the end of a gravel path. If one as mobility issues - as I do - the walk from the driveway to the entrance of the guest quarters can be a challenge. Please bear in mind that this observation is unique to me. My wife had no difficulty with the walkway. Overall, we highly recommend this property.

We built here 23 years ago because it was a beautiful 8 1/2 acres of woodland, and convenient to Portland, Brunswick, Lewiston, even Augusta (just 45 minutes).

I built the guest quarters to offer people a comfortable, friendly place to stay. I indulged my love of v-groove pine, and whitewashed it to keep the space bright.
