Chalet rénové avec goût avec sauna et quai sur le lac Portage. Pas de frais de nettoyage!

Un chalet récemment rénové de 3 chambres sur le lac Portage à environ 10 km de Houghton, université technologique du Michigan, université Finlandia et du bureau du parc national Isle Royale et du quai pour bateaux. Regardez le lever du soleil tout en prenant un café au lit, utilisez le sentier récréatif non motorisé de Houghton à Chassell derrière le chalet, attrapez du poisson sur le quai, baignez-vous dans un lac "rafraîchissant", prenez un "happy hour" sur la terrasse au bord du lac ou prenez un café en soirée dans la véranda après un sauna électrique chaud récemment rénové.
La cuisine est bien équipée avec tous les draps fournis. Beaucoup de jeux et de puzzles en cas de pluie. En bout de ligne: un endroit idéal pour se détendre ou pour une sortie en famille, et sans frais de nettoyage .. !!

Fantastic Week on the Lake

Fabulous hosts. Spotless whimsical cottage with all the amenities. Kitchen better equipped than my home. All you need to bring is worms and food and luck. (Disclaimer: Worms & luck for fishing)

A Nice Break Away With Family

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Small pieces of info for families traveling to the cottage. Houghton is about seven miles away. There was one old mini golf course in rough condition, the mine tours were sold out and even with college back in session, some restaurants were on restricted hours due to no help and info listed online wasnt accurate. Just plan a little ahead if you have younger kids for activities outside the cottage and for food. There were many games, bikes, bonfires, great kitchen set up to cook all meals for six, and a dock/ladder to get in and out of kayaks. We are use to saunas and the sauna was great at the cottage. It was our first trip to the U.P. of MI. The beach/park at lake Superior is worth the drive (great icecream), along with the Michigan Tech golf course. If you are coming from MN or the Dakotas, anticipate a significant amount of no cell phone coverage until 30 miles from the cottage and limited places to stop for food, etc. The wifi and tv worked great for our college football watching family. Over the years, we have traveled a lot and rented through VRBO. This is one of our favorite places. The kitchen is fully stocked, enough room for at least six people. We had one really light sleeper and they were unable to sleep in the front rooms of the house facing the highway, but they enjoyed being moved upstairs and enjoyed the upstairs deck/patio thoroughly. The photos match what you will see when you arrive. The property mgrs were great to work with and no issues with communication.

Great location for memory making!

This is by far one of our favorite locations that we have stayed in the upper peninsula we were right next to a walking trail able to swim in the lake and have family over for barbecues and fun would highly recommend!

Relaxing time for family

My mother, sister, and nephew stayed at Oma's July 2021. They had a wonderful time visiting the Copper Country and enjoyed their stay at Oma's. The cottage was perfect for them and morning coffee overlooking Portage was a highlight! They can't wait to return. Thank you Marty and Mary for sharing your home with us!

Family fishing trip

Omas cottage was a perfect lakefront cottage for us. It was clean and comfortable and well equipped with towels, linens, pots, pans etc. It was very convenient to be able to use the dock to tie our boat to. We had a great week of fishing and sight seeing. It was nice having plenty of doors and windows with screens to let the cool air and sounds of the lake in and keep the bugs out. The owners are very nice and accommodating. I would definitely recommend Omas to friends and family and I can’t wait to stay here again.

This place is among the loveliest cottages I have stayed in this area. The private peaceful setting, the well-appointed house, the attention and communication from Marty and Mary (the owners) made this a truly pleasurable experience for all of us! No doubt we will be back! A+
