Perfect in every way. The cottage felt like our own private retreat and our Westie/Poo appreciated having free range of the yard too. We were a block from the beach and walkable distance to shops and restaurants. The fresh flowers and pecan cookies were a warm welcome and much enjoyed. Cannot say enough good things. A great place to relax and enjoy.

The Whale Beachside Cottage is about as close to the beach as you can get in Jax Beach. It is a very short one block walk and you are on the sand! Chris presents a lovely place to stay, very clean, well maintained, supplied with pretty much everything you need in the kitchen, bathroom, and supplies for the beach to make your stay comfortable and easy. This was our second stay in the cottage and we will return.

We loved this property! It was the perfect size for my husband and me. Offered everything we needed for a weekend get-away, and the proximity to the beach was great.Highly recommend The Refinery for a nice dinner out. It is 1/2 block from the house, so the perfect location.

The Whale was a dream stay! We were here for a Mayo visit. We wanted to bring our pets
 Chris was so accommodating! The entire cottage had everything we needed! We loved that we could take our pups to the beach and 2 daily long walks. They LOVED it! The fenced front patio was a fave pastime. This property doesn’t disappoint. We will definitely stay here again! The inside decor and pics was exactly as pictured and we were treated with beautiful roses and baked goods.

Great location

Very pleased with the location. The beach was right across a quiet street, maybe a one minute walk, not across a busy road or anything like most places that are listed as "beach across the street". Morning walks were great. Tons of people riding bikes. Very peaceful! The Jacksonville Fishing Pier is a short 5ish minute walk, along with some restaurants and bars. We walked everywhere! It was nice not to have to navigate beach roads in our car.

Wonderful cottage!

This little gem is in a perfect location for everyone who wants to enjoy the beach and have great restaurants in walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay and how walkable the neighbhood was. Easy parking and check-in process. The cottage is perfect for a couple looking to unwind. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the shower is nice and spacious. The beach is only a few steps away - you can see the ocean from the front deck! We’d definitely stay here again.

Near Mayo and Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital

My wife was at Brooks for months and was time to stay close to Jax beach and nearby restaurants. Location is terrific and walked the beach daily and recharged my own battery. Chris was easy to connect with and helpful. I was very comfortable during my stay.

Well appointed, cozy cottage close to beach

The Whale is a lovely, cozy little cottage. The layout is quirky, but gives it character. The personal touches by the host were noticeable and greatly appreciated, especially by my wife. We greatly enjoyed the very close proximity to the beach, only a short block away. The beach wagon was a great benefit!

Relaxing space!

My husband and I spent 9 days in this charming cottage! The size was perfect for the 2 of us (and our dog!) with enough space to combine a few days of work with a few days of fun! The location of this property can't be beat - so close to the beach and all of the wonderful things the Jax Beach neighborhood has to offer! The property had everything we needed including a very comfortable bed, good size bathroom, convenient (and large!) washer and dryer, and a great patio space. The Roku TV was easy for us to use with all of our subscription services. The kitchen was decently equipped with everything we needed for our stay (although to be fair, we didn't cook any major meals). We enjoyed meeting 2 sets of visitors to the cottage in the back - definitely want to look at that one for a potential rental, too. We will definitely be back!

NYE Stay

We enjoyed our time at the Whale House. It’s a small place as depicted in the photos but well appointed, comfortable and cozy. It’s very close to the beach and lots of restaurants. The fenced yard was great for our pup who was a welcomed guest as well.

Thanksgiving

First, I have to say "WOW"!!! This place was awesome and as we say in the South "Cute as a Button!" Chris put little touches in this Cottage that made it a HOME, not just a place to stay. Bed was very comfortable, pull-out sofa was nice as well per our adult son. Also nice to sit on for watching football. The short walk to the beach was an added bonus, which our little Maltese really enjoyed. We will definitely stay again when coming to Jacksonville Beach!

Cozy and convenient

The photos accurately represent the place. The bedroom does not have enough room to open up a suitcase on the floor but there is a closet and since it was just two of us we used the living room area
