We enjoyed this quaint place with our dog to ring in the New Year. It is a great location, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Our host was responsive and friendly. She checked in to make sure that we had everything we needed. Having the little fenced yard was a great perk. This is a large home that is split into several units so you share the property but it was still very private for each unit. Definitely would stay again.

Property was awesome! We loved the small yard which also had a small patio and landscaping was really pretty with well maintained foliage. Beach access was just steps away as advertised and the apartment was really clean and perfectly beach- weathered. Alicia is easy to reach and she is adorable! We had no issues during our stay and will definitely stay again. The property has the old Folly Beach feel!

Loved the super close proximity to the beach and that it was dog-friendly! Was so easy to come back and forth between the beach and house throughout the day. The place was well equipped with all we needed, including towels and beach chairs, which is a big plus! King bed was quite firm, but that just comes down to preference. Overall, would definitely recommend staying and we really enjoyed our time!

We enjoyed our stay very much! The yard was beautiful with flowers and fruit trees. Monarch butterflies everywhere. Bed was comfortable and clean. The best part was how close to the beach we were! Excellent stay and are planning a return trip in the future!

Wonderful place to stay! Communication was clear, positive and helpful. The place was thoughtfully furnished and equipped - clean, comfortable, and set up nicely for relaxation, work, time with loved ones, a quiet cup of coffee and a book. I loved the art work and the lovely yard. Steps from the beach so even a not-morning person like me was able to make it to see the Folly Beach sunrise!

Great location with everything you need!

My best friend & I very much enjoyed our stay! Our host was very responsive and friendly, and it was a great space for us. I enjoyed breakfast every morning in the backyard, and we were very grateful for the provided beach chairs & towels. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. There were also sufficient bathroom & kitchen supplies, including towels. I can't say enough about the location! It is only a few steps from a very nice walkover right onto the beach. It's an easy and short walk just across the street that brings you to a great spot on the beach that is not overly populated. I definitely recommend!

Perfect Spot

The accommodations were perfect for us, including our 2 small pups. They were so comfortable and it gave me peace of mind knowing that the beach walkover is literally 2 minutes away. Clean, neat, super cute and comfy. Host was very responsive and I cannot wait to book my stay for next year.

Perfect size for a small group/couple

The pictures dont do this place justice!! The outside is super cute and way closer to the beach than i was expecting, Alicia responds quickly when needed and answers all questions, i really enjoyed staying here and plan on coning back as soon as we can. Was also a very convient location for us to do activities like deep sea fishing for shark. Super fun and thrilling!!

Lovely beach retreat

Fourth time staying at this property, but first time in this unit. Charming ground floor space, plenty of room for two adults and two dogs. The small yard with patio and grill was wonderful to have and you’re just steps from the beach. As always, the unit was super clean when we got there and Alicia is right next door and very responsive for anything you may need. Old-school Folly vibe . Perfect spot if you want to bring the dogs with you and not break the bank.

Perfect cozy cottage

My daughter and I, with our two fur babies, love this cozy comfort hidden gem. There’s plenty of space to accommodate us all. The huge King size bed and the 2nd room has a full bed. Both beds were very comfortable. The fenced yard was one of the reason we chose this location, plus the beach is walking right across the street!!! Very clean and uniquely decorated. We would definitely be staying here when we come back to visit Folly beach again!!! Thank you Mrs Alicia for welcoming our stay.

Chastain's Cottages has been in business since 1941 on Folly Beach. Lois Chastain moved from GA to work at the Naval Shipyard during the war. Eula bought houses and rented them to pay for them. We have 5 rental units - 3 smaller apartments across from the beach and 2 oceanfront houses. Lunnette will be 90 in 2024. She was Miss Folly Beach 1948! Alicia is the third generation and happy to help and to answer any questions.
