The location is what made us a repeat renter. We went with two other couples back in September 2020 and the same group again this September. We had perfect weather, and you cannot beat the convenient location to everything as well as being just steps from the beach. However, the home is a nice home but it needs some attention and love again as far as updated decor and fixing the wooden flooring downstairs- as well as a good deep clean. It has been 5 yrs since our last stay and the wear and tear is very evident. The decor is very outdated and dining chair seats are very dirty. If you’re simply looking for a great location on the beach that is somewhat reasonably priced, then this house will work for you. I will say the HVAC unit works great!! I would just recommend fixing the flooring downstairs ASAP because it’s a trip hazard in a few places where it’s buckling. New paint and updated fixtures and furniture would really help this house. I gave it a 4 star because of perfect location and also the ease of renting etc through RealJoy.

This was a perfect home for our extended family. It had everything we needed. Being on the beach was great and such an easy walk down the path. We were worried about being next to the public access walkway but we had no issues whatsoever. This was far enough away from the traffic of PCB but close enough to everything. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

Everything was old and disgusting,

Everything was disgustingly old even cooking pans, outdoor tables were completely destroyed, bbq was for world war 2 , carpet was really dirty in living room, in general was disgusting , don't book this place

Fall Getaway

The house was a good size for our family. Location was great! We went in October so even though we were close to a beach access, it was not crowded. The house was clean but needs a lot of TLC. In the kitchen and family area they had been working on the floor and there was yellow tape on the floor and the boards were not even, and they also had additional flooring stacked in the living room. The carpet definitely needs to be replaced. We had problems with the master bedroom shower leaking, but this was promptly attended to. We could not get any of the televisions to work except the one in the living room. For the price updates need to be made. The weather was wonderful while we were there and we spent most of our days on the beautiful beach and water.

Perfect Beach Staycation

Our family stayed here over thanksgiving for 8 days. It was much nicer and cleaner than previously read reviews. The king suite upstairs was perfect for my husband and I to stay in. The beds the others stayed in were not very comfortable but ours was very nice. The furniture was clean and comfortable and perfect for our family. We rented from Myles(recommended from house manager) and he was amazing to work with. I brought knives, dish towels and purchased a broiler which I left with the house. Other than the broiler the house was very well stocked! Great location for our family holiday on the beach! Highly recommend and as house owners and renters ourselves you won’t be disappointed or dissatisfied.

Good location

The best thing about this property is the location. Carpets and LR furniture to be replaced, and better attention given to appliances and kitchen utensils. We had to purchase knives to chop veggies, cut meat, etc because the one at the house was broken, the small counter oven had to be unplugged ti turn off, and the display light in the stove didn’t work. Only one kitchen towel. No beach chairs provided with the house and no chair rental included; porch furniture was sad. A few plastic chairs. The grill was also sad. House sits beside a public beach access so there are people coming and going
a lot, and at all hours. Didn’t really mind that except it makes it a bit challenging to have some quiet time on the deck. However, we enjoyed the week and RealJoy vacation rentals are great to work with!

Best house on the beach

This house had plenty of room & was perfectly located right on the beach which had spectacular views. My family will forever have fond memories of the time we spent here!

Come for the view/access

Access to the beach was exactly as described. I have never stayed in a more convenient location. We had some issues with clean bedding, but management was responsive and gave us new bedding that day. The kitchen is stocked in terms of cookware, but has absolutely no extras (seasonings, oils, tinfoil, etc), so be aware of that when booking. Overall, great trip and good location. PS: we didn’t have any issue with the porch. You’re there for the view, not the furniture.

Great spot on a great beach

Can’t beat the location. Steps from the back door is the beautiful Gulf Coast Beach. Everything in the rental promotion was as it was. We went with adults and teenagers and it was great.

When we entered the property, we were greeted with the smell of curry. We then noticed that the furniture and other accommodations were run down, including the sofas and beds. One of the dining room chairs had a broken leg. The patio furniture consisted of cheap plastic chairs, three of which were broken. Therefore, it was difficult to enjoy the view of the ocean from the porches. The outdoor shower also did not work and wad not fixed until the fourth day of our visit.

Thanksgiving at the Beach

The Ocean Spray was a delightful way to spend Thanksgiving with my family. The property exceeded my expectations. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed. The check-in process went without a hitch, other than my failure to operate the lock (no one had trouble but me!). We had no problems to report. Everything was as it should have been. The rooms were a good size, and everything was in great working condition. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the property and look forward to coming again.

The check in process was great, if I had a complaint it is that you pay a lot of money to have a private beach spot only to not be able to sit anywhere near your house. The beach access being right beside you makes it not an ideal location to stay.

Family Beach Time

We are going home today after a great week at PCB. The house was perfect for us. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was the best. Close to restaurants and activities but on a quiet strip of beach. We have been coming here around 30 years.

Nice Place, but needs updating

Our trip lasted 7 days. The house was spacious and as advertised, easily sleeps 14. The view and distance to the beach were perfect. My only complaint has to do with the ugly decks. There are 2. They are in (exceptionally) bad shape. The wood looks to be original and needs some work. Also, basically no outdoor furnishing. Horrible grills too. I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed.

Perfect location

The house was clean and attractive and 14 family members fit very well. The location was absolutely perfect. The water was very few steps from the house. So convenient. We would absolutely choose to rent it again.

Ocean View comments

Beautiful right on beach with a nice big deck & grills! However, there are items inside the house that need updating/replaced. WAY too much silk greenery, decor needs to be more "beachy", upstairs bedroom with king bed was so soft the person could not get good sleep, couches are really bad and need replaced. We will not return.
