I was slightly disappointed with the outdoor seating/view. I would love more outdoor space. It is obstructed by the 3 season room conversion. The balcony by the bedroom is small with no view and the neighboring unit can stare right at you. Curtains in the main windows would be nice at night. I felt like i was in a fishbowl at night with the lights on. Check in was slightly confusing. The use of a keypad would be very helpful. Keeping track of 2 sets of keys with kids is archaic. I did love how the unit was stocked with enough garbage bags, dish pods, linens, spices, coffee filters. Those things really make a difference. The place is very nice and clean. The pool is nice and clean. The beach toys and chairs are fully stocked. The location is great. The host was very responsive and helpful.

Great location and very clean!

Stayed for a week with our family and the location was perfect, many beach toys, clean and comfortable inside. Very easy to walk to beach which was not crowded at all. Would stay again.

We were very satisfied with the property.we made use of the pool and pickle ball courts. As we are a bit older we thought the sofa could have been more comfortable. We enjoyed watching the gulf from the sun room. Beach chairs were easily accessible. Kitchen well maintained. Plenty of storage space. We are very satisfied and will recommend this property

Perfect in every way !

Loved the location and the cute condo that made our stay perfect! Well stocked with everything we needed! Management was responsive to our questions. Beds were comfy and plenty of towels and beach equipment….. all great features that we like!

Beach retreat perfect for two

We rented this property only a few days after Hurrican Ian hit just south of the area. Power was out to our selected condo so we stayed here instead. The house was clean and except for the yard being dirty with debris from the storm was perfect. The property management staff was very helpful.

Excellent place to stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location and access to the beach was perfect for our family. The amenities were just as stated on Vrbo and we would definitely stay there again. I have only one recommendation from the stay. The cart for carrying items to the beach needs replaced. I have two little girls with a lot of STUFF to carry to the beach. This cart wore my old man back out due to the difficulty pulling it through the sand! Ha! Minor detail but worth mentioning. Thanks!

Gulf Views?

Unfortunately, the gulf view was very limited - from the far end of the unit only. The unit was nice and well stocked. The tennis pball court was being refinished most of our stay :(. The road construction was a bit of a pain, and I guess has been going on longer than expected. The island is great. Rent bikes and use trolley. Fun!

Great location, beautiful beaches

Stayed one week and it was perfect! Open concept, lots of natural light, very short walk to Holmes beach, area not very crowded. Manatee beach is close but you would need to drive. Well stocked with linens, kitchen items. Has both drip coffee maker and keurig. We drove so we had our vehicle and rented bikes there was no bike rack and someone did suggest for us to use the storage room for them. Glad we decided against the golf cart, not needed with a vehicle. The staff at Beach Retreats were very responsive and quick with questions. Publix is the main grocery store and a short drive no issues with them being out of things. Nice pool and pickleball court also. My only complaint was the water pressure in the main bathroom. Overall great fun!

Great unit but can be noisy

The unit was nice with enough size for my family of four. Great view from the living room couch of the beach. Easy walk to the beach. Our only issue was the gate leading to the pool is right by the front bedroom. People slammed it every time they walked through. It was lound in the unit causing my daughter who was sleeping in the front bedroom to wake up each day by 6:30-7:00am. It drove us nuts anytime we were in the unit hearing the gate slam shacking walls/windows.

Beautiful Vacation Condo

My husband and I spent a month at this beautiful condo. It is tastefully decorated and the linens and cookware are nicer than my own. Removing the lanai sliders to increase the size of the living room resulted in a sunny sitting area to read or view the gulf. The location is perfect and within walking distance to shops and restaurants, and the free trolley stops are nearby. We did have an issue with the management company. They failed to send check-in instructions and realizing it a few days before arrival I had to contact them. We also had difficulty with the lockbox as did a previous renter, but the management company did come out and replace the box the next day. Thus my reason for not giving 5's in all areas. We would definitely recommend this condo and would have liked to return next year, but the rental fee doubled and it is now out of what we can afford.

Great Stay

Really enjoyed our stay at this property. The condo itself is very well maintained, clean and in a great location. It takes about 2 minutes from when you leave your door to get to the ocean! The only negatives we had were there were no garbage bags supplied. There wasn’t even one in the can. We noticed this the first night after having already shopped at Publix. I called the management company who told me they would get me some asap. We never did receive them. Not a huge deal, as we used the small Publix plastic bags. Also, the storage room where the beach stuff is kept is gross. We saw a few huge dead roaches and a few small live ones. We hated having to go in there 2x a day to get and return the beach stuff. The beach stuff itself was fine. Overall, I would definitely stay at this condo again, but I would consider leave the beach stuff on the beach at night, as a lot of people were doing this. Overall the place is a solid B+ maybe even an A-

We have passed along the note regarding the storage area. We have also asked our pest control to go by and spray the storage unit. I do want to touch on leaving the beach items at the beach. This is frowned upon by code compliance and the turtle watch. The beaches are combed each morning and they will throw away the items that are left on the beach. We do hope you give us another chance the next time your travels bring you to Anna Maria Island.

Vacation

Took us almost 2 hours to park, because the parking garage was under maintenance. Which was a big inconvenience being told our vehicle would be towed at our expense, and nobody let us know upon arrival. Finally after arriving into the condo they left wet sheets in the washer, dry towels in the dryer, and a dishwasher completely full. It wasn’t clean, and the balconies do not slide open, so the chairs on the balconies are false advertising. The keys hardly would work to get into any of the doors,all of the on site management who reside there were so snobby, sarcastic and beyond rude. Maintenance just walked into our condo without a notice as we were home, and it made us feel so unsafe. One of our showers didn’t work properly. Asked the onsite manage what time the pool closed he laughed and said idk 7:30, and walked away. When we arrived they were beyond rude, and very nasty to us. They do not leave any laundry supplies , and no supplies at that. They do have beach chairs ect, but it’s a pain to get to them. Very upset with our stay, and zero communication. Very ran down!!! The only nice thing was the location on the beach. I would most definitely never stay AGAIN, and I won’t recommend any of my family who stays at Anna Marie to ever book with this place. HORRIBLE STAY! Was shocked when the maintenance knocked, and then helped themselves to just walk into our condo while my teenage daughters were inside. It was so unacceptable, and there is absolutely ZERO communication.

We’re sorry the start of your trip wasn’t as smooth as you’d hoped. While our arrival instructions clearly outline how to locate the condo, we understand travel days can be stressful and appreciate your patience. We also regret the parking lot resurfacing created an inconvenience your first night; per the condo association, no vehicles were permitted for 24 hours, with guests directed to park in the adjacent lot. The lot reopened as scheduled the next day. Because this is a condominium, there are two maintenance teams—Beach Retreats for in-unit concerns and the condo association for building-wide issues. As stated in our rental agreement, both may access the unit without prior approval for emergencies or active alarms. During your stay, a fire alarm in a neighboring unit triggered yours. After knocking, waiting, and announcing themselves, association maintenance entered mid-morning to reset it, not expecting minors alone. Once resolved, they left immediately. You contacted us, and our owner arrived within minutes, remaining with the tweens until you returned a few hours later. We maintained consistent communication during your stay, the unit was stocked with amenities, and beach gear was available on-site. While we refunded your cleaning fee, we cannot offer further compensation or respond to demands tied to a threatened negative review. We take pride in this property’s strong history of positive reviews and ask that all interactions remain respectful.

Wonderful spring vacation!

As always Anna Maria Island made for a wonderful vacation. The condo at sun plaza was excellent. Very clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a great week with two teenagers. We were thrilled to not only find beach chairs and umbrellas but a basketball and football! Loved having a view of the ocean and being able to open it all up and enjoy the ocean breeze.

Overall great stay!

The condo was beautiful! Updated, clean and spacious. Beds were very comfortable! They thought through many small details that helped with our stay, like hooks in the bathrooms to hang bathing suits, lots of dishes and cookware, beach tent, chairs and toys, etc. You can tell the owners put a lot of care into their condo. There was a short path leading to the beach. Our beach view was minimal but what we could see was still beautiful. The HOA president was a bit overzealous and seemed to always be around enforcing mask-wearing even in outdoor spaces. There were many rules for the property that we found were a bit much. Make sure to carry your key everywhere because literally everything is locked down (stairwells, tennis court, pool). You can get locked inside the pool area because you need your key to get out. Overall we loved our stay and had a great family vacation!
