A great place to relax

We had a great holiday in this cottage. The landlady is very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of tips for trips and restaurants. The house has great facilities such as pool, air conditioning and WiFi. It is in a very quiet location on the mountain, the nearest small town is a few hundred meters away. We had a very relaxing holiday!

Nice holiday home in the Tuscan mountains

Nice, complete and well-kept house in the mountains near Camporgiano, Lucca. Two large bedrooms and a spacious living room / kitchen. Togetther with a nice swimming pool and sunny terrace make it a wonderful stay. The only disadvantages we can think of; - it is quite remote (you realy need your car / small distances take a long time in this part of Tuscany); -the beds creaked a bit ; - and don't expect too much from the WIFI (stability and speed). But if you want to relax in in a beautiful setting, this is the place to be!

Thank you for your review. Happy to hear you had a lovely relaxing stay in this beautiful property. All the beds are brand new, and have now been adjusted so they don't squeak! The internet is continuously improving in the mountains and gets better year on year, but is not suitable for streaming and so forth yet. Just for surfing and e mail etc. We are constantly monitoring new developments to ensure we can update where necessary. Thanks again, and we are glad you enjoyed the peace! Private and lovely villa

We loved staying at the villa! We had all we needed, the scenery is breathtaking. The pool was cold but very welcoming when it was a hot day. The garden is perfect. The villa is remote, away from it all. But there are a lot of lovely villages to visit. The road to the house is challenging especially when you travel with a big Mercedes Sprinter, but the longer we stayed the more casual it went. We will have beautiful memories of this holiday. The communication was perfect. Thank you Francesca! Ciao x

An oasis of peace with stunning scenery

We had a relaxing, memorable stay enjoying the well-equipped villa which is in a wonderful location for breathtaking views and exploring hilltop villages, local lakes and Lucca. We had everything we needed and for the few food items we wanted there are plenty of local shops a short drive away or the very helpful and friendly bar/shop in Casciana-also great for a beer/wine after a walk/day out. Communication with Francesca was excellent before and during our stay. There are plenty of local walks from the villa, quite a lot of hills involved, however, a car is essential for exploring further afield. We came away feeling totally relaxed and refreshed having explored what must be some of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany. Thank you and we hope to be back.

Alles is aanwezig.

Soggiorno rilassante a Villa Scorticata

Thank you for your review of this property. We are very surprised to see a 2 star rating when the review says the house was nice, spacious and well equipped and all our reviews on other sites are 5 star with those on HomeAway 4 or 5 star . The review seems to be based on the area rather than the property. As can be seen from the advert and the map the property is mountainous and secluded. This is a perfect place for those seeking peace and quiet and I believe this is quite clear from the description. It seems maybe this area wasn't the right choice for your party We have now raised with the owners re the beds being squeaky and they have now been adjusted. NB FOR FUTURE GUESTS, do please note that there are 2 supermarkets less than a 10 minute drive in one direction, and 10 minutes in the other, with a larger town with all facilities 20 minutes away . The village of Camporgiano is a 10 minute drive with a selection of restaurants. Piazza al Serchio an 8 minute drive also has some eating options as well as butchers, bakers, greengrocers, pasticceria, other local shops and a supermarket. It is also possible to walk to the little village bar which also has basic shopping and where as can be seen from other reviews the owners will cook for you on request. This is an 600M flat walk from the house (or a 2 min drive). Children feel safe walking down to the bar, and for things of interest for them to do, there is a zipwire/tree climbing park suitable for all ages just a 15 min drive, as is the Fortress of Verrucole with interactive museum, swimming in the river just 10 mins away, horseriding 20 mins away. There are the wind caves for a morning or afternoon out, and Lucca an hour or so away for exploring the city and cycling the walls which all young people seem to love. For the more adventurous, and further afield you can spend an afternoon river canyoning or quad biking etc. This is not an area for those looking for a touristy holiday, but for those looking for something different - quiet, peaceful, countryside etc. We do provide a full information pack with suggestions of things to do. Thank you. Lorraine at Tuscan-retreats

CHARMING WITH LOTS OF CHARACTER

Spent a week here in early July and really enjoyed the villa. Children loved the pool and the views from the villa were fantastic. It’s very rural, perfect if you enjoy privacy and quiet, but the nearby village had a shop, a bar, where the locals were the most friendly people. Also close to larger towns/villages with good restaurants and handy train stations which we used to travel to Pisa, the amazing Lucca, Florence and Cinque Terre, saving the amount of time spent on incredibly windy local roads. Francesca was very friendly and helpful with one or two minor problems we had. A lovely stay.

I am happy to hear you all enjoyed your stay at the property and loved the pool. The area is very quite and a perfect place to retreat to, relax and go at your own pace. I am glad Francesca was able to deal with any problem you had. Kind regards Lorraine
