The master bedroom is located on the main level and boasts a comfy king-size bed, a flat-screen Smart TV, and an ensuite bathroom outfitted with a walk-in shower featuring a luxurious rain showerhead.
The second bedroom is located upstairs and has two twin beds plus incredible views of the forest. A twin bed in the upstairs loft can accommodate an extra person.
The second full bathroom sits off the main living area on the lower level and has a shower/tub combo.

The open-concept common area features a kitchen, dining area, and lounge with welcoming decor and furnishings making it perfect for meal times and movie nights. Large windows flood the home with beautiful natural light and showcase the gorgeous views of the lush Highlands forest.
The designated chef(s) will find everything they need in the kitchen for whipping up tasty home-cooked meals. Of course, if you donât feel like cooking, youâre just a few minutes away from some great restaurants.
The cozy lounge invites you to relax after a day of exploring. Kick your feet up and dive into a good book, stream your favorite shows on the Smart TV, or simply listen to the crackle of the wood-burning stove as you snuggle together on the sofas.

The natural beauty of Highlands starts right in your backyard. The expansive decks on the front and back of the house provide the perfect outdoor living space.
Enjoy your morning coffee on a comfy rocking chair, cozy up by the outdoor firepit, or gather together for a memorable dinner under the stars. The house is set on .75 acres, for undisturbed serenity, yet you are just a 5-minute walk from Main Street.

You will have private access to the entire house except for the ownerâs closet in the loft area. A storage shed is located on the side yard and has some additional supplies for your stay, including fishing poles and other accessories you are welcome to use.
Free driveway parking and a covered carport are available for up to three vehicles.

Close-by the house you have access to world class boating and lake beach (in season on Lake Glenville), hiking, shopping, dining, fishing, and even skiing/tubing during the winter. Sapphire Mountain is 15 minutes from the house and offers a great "winter" experience with a ski hill and tubing!
Championship Golf opportunities abound with a combination of private and public courses located within 15 minutes of the house: Old Edwards, Sapphire National, Red Bud, and Sky Valley.
This is our vacation home, but it is set-up as a luxury, short term rental for guests. It is turn-key, therefore, doesn't require any interaction with us or the care-takers of the home. We have an electronic lock on the door and will issue you a unique code for your stay.
I spent years in the hospitality industry (Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, and private country clubs) and my wife and I view our role as general manager/proprietor of this property. Our goal is to make sure your stay exceeds your expressed and unexpressed wishes.
We live two hours from the property, but have excellent care takers for the home right in Highlands. Should you need anything regarding home maintenance, cleaning, or additional supplies just let us know!
Holt Knob is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in downtown Highlands. Most a year-round community, there are an amazing array of quintessential Mountain Homes carefully placed throughout this community. Great walking, beautiful scenery, and friendly neighbors.
You can walk to town from our home, but to get anywhere else you will need a car.
The driveway is a gravel driveway and has a steep approach (paritally paved). 4 X4 is NOT NEEDED, but please refer to our video recommendations on how to ascend and descend the driveway safely.
We provide plenty of dishwasher detergent and cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, high quality toilet paper and Tupperware, a fully stocked kitchen with all cooking and service utensils, coffee and tea, and other items that are not often included in a vacation rental.

It is such a joy to welcome you to Highlands, NC! Our family discovered Highlands 5 years ago when some dear friends invited us to stay at their home. Their hospitality and our time in Highlands was life giving, and Pete and I told each-other one day we would love to have our own home in Highlands to share with others.
Whether this is your first stay at "Be Still," or you are returning for another visit, we want to thank you for staying with us! Choosing to stay at our home allows Pete and I and our 3 girls to continue our love of hospitality and sharing this place with others who appreciate all it offers.
