Amazing place to stay for snowboarding

Jeff was an amazing host who made the process extremely streamlined and easy, he was great to speak to and answered all the questions we had regarding the stay. I would definitely recommend staying there as the host was located in a great space close to the town of Ohakune and within very good travel distance of Turoa and Whakapapa :)

Was a lovely cozy house. We were very happy. Only thing was there was carpet moths and maggots on the carpets. But the rest was lovely. We really enjoyed sitting around the open fire with hot chocolate and Marchmellows

Affordable winter getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4day break in this cosy batch just a few mins drive from Ohakune and with very easy access to the Turoa mountain road. The accommodation was clean, warm and perfect for our family of 6, including the 8month old. Great kids room with toys, books and bunkbeds. No issues with anything, plenty of hot (very hot) water, and all the space we needed. Nice little garden for kids to roam, and for the train-spotters, the familiar overnight goods services which have become part of the mountain experience for us. You could pay a lot more for a lot less (IMO). We'll be back.

Ski Trip

We had a good trip all round and the house fit 5x adults easily. Nice and close to Ohakune too which was great. Owners were quick to respond and pretty helpful with any issues we had. Definitely got a bit cold at night and we had the fire running all the time, also was a bit dissapointed that the shower only got to luke warm, water from taps was hot, hopefully is an easy fix.

Great escape from the city.

Lovely bach and only a few hours drive if you want to escape the city life. Great spot and only a few minutes drive to the mountain/carrot park which the kids loved. I’d suggest having the fire lit before guest check in during the cold season would be ideal. All the rooms were absolutely freezing on our first night and condensation in the bathroom and the back room. Otherwise it was a great weekend away with the kids.

Home away from home

A standalone house with plenty of space and privacy. There is nothing quite like relaxing in front of an open fire after a great day on the mountain, we'll definitely be back :)

If anyone looking for winter getaway I reckon this house is gonna be best with its cosy fireplace and affordable price . And it also had everything u ever wanted during ur stay. 😊

Perfect ski weekend.

Best weekend of the year on the Mt. Property was perfectly good for our needs. Hosts very accomodating and communicative.

Very cozy, clean but cold.

We loved our stay in the house, the kids room was fab, the fire very cozy. Great location for snow trips to Turoa. We found the house incredible cold though and needed to use the heaters a lot - the switch board unfortunately couldn’t support it so we woke up one night with heating off in freezing cold bedrooms. On our last day also the roof started leaking and dripping in two bedrooms right in the mattresses. I hope the owner can fix that soon as the place is quite charming.

Hi Aleksandra. Thanks for letting us know of the issues you had. I've had an electrician out to look at the fuses, it is an old board! And the drips, very sorry. That one is going to require a more detailed investigation, it wasn't raining so it must have been condensation or maybe even ice on the underside of the roof. Glad you enjoyed your stay. The house is well maintained, with a great fireplace that heats the house up rapidly.

The house is well maintained, with a great fireplace that heats the house up rapidly. The house is spacious with everything you could need. Heaps of puzzles and board games to pass by the late nights. Ohakune is only a short 5 minute drive away with multiple travel routes to venture down. Overall the house was a nice , quiet little hide away with amazing character and everything you would need for a stay in Ohakune. Highly recommended!! to
